I'm counting this as a hotel .. just a floating one ;)
When we first booked our cruise we booked a balcony room. But then covid. And Bare Necessities refused to let us out of the 2022 cruise until Carnival Came to the rescue a couple of weeks before the cruise and said they wouldn't charge them for people that didn't want to go. Bare Necessities offered a credit, but of course not a refund. I didn't want to go in 2023, partly because covid (still too soon) but mostly because David wouldn't be able to go with us (he only goes every second year), and that was half the point of going. But we had no choice. Because Bare Necessities are evil. So Stu said David could have his place. Anyway, because of all the nonsense, it meant we lost our earlybird discount, plus the prices went up a lot. Which meant I would need to give Bare Necessities another $1500 to get a balcony. AND THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL I was going to give them any more of my money. The only rooms I could afford were obstructed view rooms. With no opening windows/doors. Which sucked. A lot. The only saving grace is that the GPS worked through all that metal.

I took the first set of pictures before were technically allowed to go in.. I just snapped a bunch of very quick photos. And so they hadn't rearranged the bed yet.

Ships bathrooms are always small. But there was equal space next to the sink for David's and my stuff. And David never actually even had a shower in here - he always used the gym shower with its fancy sideways taps.

Then there were more photos after we were allowed to check in. They still hadn't separated the bed at this point (we had to call them to ask them to do that).

View to the deck 3 promenade. I was thinking people walking past would be able to see in, but not many people used the deck anyway, those that did didn't look up, and even if you did you couldn't see in during the day (didn't look at night)

The beds were comfortable enough. They had nice doonas but it was too hot to use them (even with the aircon set to as cold as it would go). At least it was easy to separate the sheets from the middle bit so could have it half on half off.

The fridge was a bit annoying - you couldn't lay wine bottles flat, and would have needed to take shelves out to stand them upright. Oh well, tilted it is.
