Slept relatively well. Slept til about 6:35 when I woke up with a bit of hurty. But managed to get back to sleep til after 8:00.
Got ready and had breakfast in the restaurant. Shared a table with a couple from Germany (Kristina and someone) and a couple from Virginia.

On the way to breakfast I noticed they'd taken the fig leaf off the statue of David, so after breakfast we attempted to photograph David with David, but the angles were all wrong and the place was full of staff getting ready for lunch service. We might try that again at a different time.

David!
Then I finally had a chance to have a go on the waterslides. David went on the yellow one first, and he did it sitting up, so I tried that too.. and the first bit was fine but then it swung violently the other way and I got thrown over and hit the back of my head which really wasn't any fun. Tried it again lying down but just ended up with water in my face and couldn't see where I was going and it really wasn't any fun. So tried the green one, where you get dropped straight down, which wasn't so bad, but again face got covered in water and I also bashed my elbows pretty hard trying to stay alive. Definitely not any fun at all. Sigh.
So I went back to the room and did some more washing and backed up all my photos, including recopying missing iPhone photos (it's doing that thing where it gets hung up on a file but instead of giving any sort of error it just dies quietly).
Had a light lunch with David in the buffet.
And did some more washing.
Then went and saw "I Am Big Bird", a documentary on the life of Carroll Spinney, in the Taj Mahal theatre. They mustn't broadcast movies much in there cause it wasn't aligned very well (top and bottom cut off because it was zoomed in too much) and they couldn't even play the DVD in colour for reasons unknown, so we saw it in black and white. But the documentary itself was really lovely and I enjoyed it. Best of all, Carroll's wife Debra was there, and she answered some questions at the end which was lovely, she's really sweet. It did blow my mind that Big Bird/Carroll Spinney nearly died on the Challenger in 1986, but he didn't end up going because they couldn't make the logistics of it work. Woah.

Came back to the room and backed up David's first memory card and blogged the day so far.
Went up to take some sunset pics.

Then to dinner in the restaurant. I had Lobster Bisque and Ragout of Wild Mushroom, then Coq au Vin, and Baked Alaska.

Then to bed. Because it was like nearly 22:00. Sigh.
