First up, we went and saw the Lone Cypress along 17 Mile Drive. Dad was pretty grumpy about having to pay the $4 or whatever it was to drive the road. He thought it was a public road and shouldn't have to pay. It was pretty grey weather so a bit bleak, and the cypress is held up with wires.

From there we headed south. We wanted to drive along the coast road, but it had been closed due to mud slides. But from the bits that we did do along the coast, it felt like we were driving north not south (coming from Sydney and living on the east coast, the ocean is always on the right when driving north - so that's what it felt like here - I felt upside down!).
Ended up in Santa Barbara for the night.
