There's a saying.. "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". You can't teach people in their mid fifties new things. Well you can, but it's incredibly painful. It's testing my patience somewhat, and you all must know how little of *that* I have!

So had this user come in today. She says that up until recently (when she got back from overseas), her Blackberry would automatically suggest a folder to file an email message, based on where she filed the last message from a particular person. But now it's stopped doing this, and just defaults back to having Inbox selected, and she needs to scroll through all her folders to file the message.
Well my Blackberry was just defaulting to the Inbox also, and I'd never even noticed this before as I rarely file from my Blackberry.
So went hunting for a solution. These two other people posted the same problem, but no satisfactory solution.
If anyone's Googling how to automatically or intelligent or smart filing of messages on the Blackberry and you find a solution, please let me know :)
ok so I'm even less likely to get postings for these entries, but it has to be done :) One of the locations is very specific and will only be known by two or three of my readers (maybe four or five depending heh), but whether any of those people post is another matter :)

Answers next week!
<snip>
Had a fairly peopley weekend.
Saturday D&Y came over and we wandered up to get coffee and breakfast. Then back here for lunch hehe. Managed to offload some more of my bits and pieces on them .. woot! heh
Saturday night was at L&L's for dinner and wine and a game of Cranium. The boys weren't overly impressed but Lizzi and I had fun :)
Sunday was cafe church, and somehow we lucked out and got a massive platter of cheeses. Quiet afternoon, watched Star Trek III. Then packed up my tetties and their tank and sent them down to Canberra with Stu. Was sad to see them go because I'd had that tank setup for four years. Still, I think it has "old tank syndrome" - ie, nothing I put in it lasts very long. It's had a very thorough gravel vac now so hopefully that should improve things a bit. Then went to Marylon's for a yummy lamb roast.
And suddenly the weekend is over :(:(
(Google Maps - Miscellaneous Edition answers in extended post.. with an even worse response than last week.. *sigh*)
Today sucked.
More specifically, this afternoon sucked.
This morning was ok. Luc brought me a Blackberry 8800 to have a play with, so play I did. Ok so mainly I wanted to test out the GPS feature, which works beautifully with Google Maps - the Blackberry maps built into it are *crap*. So that was all very nice, but decided I should probably go back to my Blackberry for the night. Except it all went to pot. All the BES stuff worked *except* receiving mail. No matter what I did I could send mail and use all the GPRS stuff, just not receive mail. And not only that, but it completely screwed up my profiles, giving me a couple of extra profiles - _default_profile_ and a "blank" profile that can't be renamed or deleted. No idea how I'm going to fix those :(
But it was getting late and had to get to the post office. To return something to Ted's Camera House. But that is a rant for another day.
But there was one amusing thing that went round this arvo. Australian readers should get it, but sorry, overseas people, well, won't. :)

So a nice long weekend with the boy up here.
Watched some VM season 3 on Friday night.
Saturday it rained. So, foolishly, we went out it in for several hours. To Bunnings and a couple of fish shops. Had thoroughly had enough by the end of it. Came home and recovered for a while before going to my parents' for dinner (there was roast pork on offer, how could we refuse? :) ).
Sunday I dragged Stu out of bed at 7am to go see the 707. Then we watched videos and pottered. The weather had cleared somewhat by the afternoon, so we went for a walk to a "lookout" I'd never been to. Then wandered over to J&G's where many others had also gathered. Stu and I cooked the dinner on the barbie (hiding from the hoardes of people you see ;) ), and after dinner played Emporer/Scum which was fun and then Killer Bunnies, which I found to be rather pointless - over complicated and confusing and yet boring at the same time. Got home quite late.
This morning slept late, then meandered into town to have a wander around Surry Hills. Wandered up and down Crown St to see some places relevant to Stu's family, then had a delicious lunch at the Trinity Bar and Bistro. I had a fantastic caesar salad and Stu had a delicious duck thing. Then it was back here to pack up Fred and send him with Stu down to Canberra.

Went and saw The Amazing Human Body today (as featured in Casino Royale). It was ultra cool. Unfortunately overcrowded, and not really the time to look at things I would have liked. It had cleared out a lot more by the hour before closing, would have been better to go an hour later. The "complete" bodies were also really badly lit, with most of them having a single spotlight from a distance, so when people stood around them they were in shadow. Stupid stupid.
The dissections were very cool though. And the slices. But my favourite things were the casts of the blood vessels, especially some of the better ones like of an arm and hand. Really intricate and tiny blood vessels were captured. Was really really annoying that you couldn't take photos.
Only a week left in Sydney, then it's off to Melbourne.

Friday .. what did we do Friday..? Not much.. Stu cooked some turkey chops which were yummy, and we drank beer and watched some Star Trek.
Saturday was cleaning day. Think I spent half the day washing up. And vacuuming. And cleaning the bathroom. And Stu cooked up a storm.
We started with jarlsberg and extra tasty cheese, and cream cheese and sweet chilli sauce.

For mains there were lamb shanks slow cooked for ~7 hours with carrot, garlic, onion, tinned tomatoes and red wine. There was also a parsnip mash with parsnip, yoghurt, butter and wholegrain mustard. And also steamed beans, with a sesame seed paste, garlic and lemon juice, which was, er, interesting :)

Dessert was an apple and rhubarb pie.

The table looked quite cool.

Then Melita came over and food and conversation was enjoyed by all.
Today was round two of washing up, then we wandered over to a meeting of the Canberra Killifish Study Group, where geeky fish-type people gathered to talk about killifish and look at slides. The dude's tank setup in his garage was pretty cool.

Then to Scotty's for dinner, and finally back here to collapse.
Nothing to report. Bored out of my brain at work at the moment. Nothing new doing, except for one project that is waiting on other people (there is no "us and them", there is no "us and them"...).
Leaving only boring stuff, or things that I can really only do after hours on servers. And was patch Tuesday this week, and I'm sure I haven't finished patching servers from *last* month yet.
*sigh*
