.. which is a frighteningly short time, considering how much I have to do in that time :/ Gonna be a decent amount of panicking in the next few weeks methinks.
Had Pete's 30th birthday party last night, which was cool. Didn't know as many people there as I thought I might have, so ended up just talking to James most of the night.
Spent all afternoon and half the night clearing video tapes - ER and Braveheart; and the other half reading Goblet of Fire. The cool thing is, Luc has just finished Chamber of Secrets and wants to borrow Prizoner of Azkaban. Cool because I never even got around to trying to make him read them - he started reading them himself! heh
Backdated. From 2025. Because I'm such a slacker I never blogged this back in the day!
*Lots* of people have digital cameras now and were all happily snapping away. Even cute uncle-in-law was there, which was strange, since he's the brother of Col's ex..

The wedding itself was short and sweet, again with many many photos being taken.

Afterwards the barbeque was kicked into full swing and much merriment was had by all.

Cake cutting was at quarter to seven

It was my cousin's son's christening tonight, which was followed by a very Greek dinner function. It brought back quite a few memories from my childhood. My uncle married a Greek lady and so all the christenings of my cousins and other such functions were held in Greek Orthodox church, with lots of chanting and insense. Followed by big parties with lots of people, lots of food, and lots of line dancing. Tonight, for a new generation, was no exception.
It was a lot of fun, although the music got very loud towards the end of the night. It really kills opportunities for conversation.
I also noticed for the first time tonight that my aunty's brother (on the right in the pic, aunty is on the left, cousin in the middle) is kinda cute, for an old guy (he's bald which helps :) ). He was fully getting into the dancing, was pretty cool :)
I've been clicking lego all night making a new mosaic. Waiting for some dark grey pieces from Germany though before I'll be able to finish it.
Also need to calm the road rage. Even though I've been in a remarkably good mood for the past week or so, there's still a couple of places where people *always* do stoopid things or try and push in on the roads that continue to piss me off. They're pet peeves of mine, but must remember "it'll only cost a few *seconds* in the grand scheme of things". Must think big picture. Calm blue oceans (a Lui-ism).
Waking up in the light this morning was wonderful! Looking forward to it again tomorrow.

Very sad night for me tonight - they wrote Robert Romano (Paul McCrane) out of ER :(:( I *loved* him, and thought he should have gotten with Elizabeth at least. He was so much nicer around her.
What was sadder is that nobody cared, not even it appears the producers. When they wrote Greene out, he got a whole couple of episodes to be remembered. With Romano it was like, oh, he's gone, oh well. But I know that he was the character people loved to hate, but still..
oh well..

James was going to get home late tonight, so George and I watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I warned them they may have to clean up my drool *grin*
George just couldn't see how I could like him. And yes, George is actually a girl :) *Some people*, I don't know :)
Had to have a laugh over an ebay auction item that finished today - it was a Jason Isaacs autographed figure of Felton from Dragonheart. I had a look through the items that the girl that won it, "ladytav", had won previously .. seems like she is somewhat of a Jason Isaacs freak as well :) Although prepared to spend a hell of a lot more money on her obsession than me! :)
Apologies to my regular readers who must be tired of my ranting by now.. I think I must sound like a school girl or something. I tell you what, it's certainly had a big affect on my mood this week. I haven't had a new crush in *ages*.
/me floats off in the general direction of bed :)
Last two days at work have been utterly demoralising. Spending hours fighting to make things work. Made one thing work in the end, still have issues with another. Video nights here and there got stuffed around. The work one was abandoned after three tech support people couldn't make sound work on a dvd player. The Evil House one ended up happening after all at Campbell's place, which was quite enjoyable after such a draining week.
Couldn't be bothered doing the Friday Five questions.. and it's Saturday anyway
I'm trying to decide which is worse, getting up in the dark or getting home when it's dark. Thoughts?
I'm definitely a morning person, but I still hate getting up when it's dark. It just doesn't feel natural.
The other silly thing is that I can sleep in for up to two hours, and still be in at work before half the people there. That's pretty tragic really.
Well I wasted far too much time tonight, and suddenly it's past my bed time.. night!
Weekend that is.
Spent a decent chunk of Saturday afternoon stressing over a couple of emails I sent to some people at cia and a problem with one of the websites on gamera. I was absolutely flabbergasted at the "support", or rather lack thereof given by one of the support guys. Some dude had sent an irate email cause noone had responded to the last one and he'd be stuffed around for months with an account setup. The support guy's response was "have you got a statement that you've paid?" I have to say that if I'd sent that irate email and gotten that response I'd be utterly furious. Anyway I called him on it, but I should probably have counted to 10 before sending it, as it ended up going to the staff list, and I'm a bit worried about the implications of it when everyone else reads it tomorrow. I'm not even supposed to be doing support mail, let alone telling the staff there how to do their jobs. Anyway. The other thing was I stopped a website cause it was killing the server, but noone called the owner, so he was a bit grumpy when he realised his site was down. So I spent ages wondering if I could have handled the two incidents any better.
We had another episode of "Cafe Church" today which was pretty cool. Got to sit around tables and have fruits and cheese and cakes while discussing Romans.
The only other thing I managed to achieve this weekend was to combine two half working computers to get one complete working computer. I've been putting off this task all year because I feared it would be "too hard". Well I was right. Ram problems, floppy drive problems, network card problems. It took *hours*. But at least now I have a system that I can do some testing of Cold Fusion MX. I'm sure I've ranted about Cold Fusion before, but if I haven't, ***don't use it!!!!!*** It's the crappiest software I've ever had to work with. Version 4.5 worked, but every time I did an upgrade after that there were problems. When we installed the Cold Fusion MX 6.1 updater, it completely broke access database connections, and hasn't worked since. I emailed their support but they said it was not within the realm of their free support. We called them and they quoted $500 per "incident". It's crap and Macromedia is a crap company.
Hrm how did that degenerate into a rant? :)
Watching The Sound of Music now.. will go to bed when it's done. Was kept up half the night by power outages at the exchange which kept my pager buzzing in overtime.
Dave commented on a similar problem on his site whereby people were not just stealing his photos, but actually linking directly to the images on his site, and thereby stealing his bandwidth. Well it seems the same thing has happened to me here
I posted a comment to her blog, I wonder if she'll take it down ;)
