How alike Claire Danes and Anna Paquin are?
I didn't notice this myself, someone else said this at the beginning of X-Men at a video night at Elwyn's one night. But I've just been watching Romeo and Juliet and yes, they do look rather alike.. what do you think?
Had a completely nothing weekend this weekend.. didn't really achieve anything I wanted to achieve (except the washing up). The support mail is swamping me with crap windoze problems. I did go out last night and watch "Animatrix" at crossfire's latest residence (and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - funny movie) but apart from that spent most of the weekend procrastinating.
Last weekend I bought a couple of Siamese Algae Eaters (siamensis) and in a week they've munched through the vast majority of the dark green algae covering the leaves of the plants in my tank. They're doing such a good job I'm worried they're going to eat themselves out of a food supply! I may need to get algae blocks they can nibble on.
I also had a light tube give out on me this week, so I wandered over to Strictly Aquariums to get a new one. The dude was a bit surprised when I told him that tubes and hoods made by the same manufacturers were 8mm different in length.
My male danios are colouring up dramatically at the moment. Their anal fins are turning a golden orange. One of them is torn though, maybe the other males are chasing him a little vigorously :)

Church, mothers day stuff, dinner at Alan and Marylon's
Suddenly the weekend is over.
I did get a chance to climb the jacaranda tree at my nana's place for probably the last time ever. We used to climb it all the time when were kids, but now nana is moving out of her house so my brother and I climbed it once more for old time's sake. I found it rather more difficult than I last remember it being. I haven't decided if this is because there are significantly less lower brances (= foot holds) than in previous years, or that I'm more worried now about falling out, or that I just don't have the confidence anymore. At any rate, it was a lot harder, but still no less enjoyable.
Jacaranda trees have to be among the best trees for climbing, with their twisting branches (those big maples(?) with all their horizontal branches are also good, you can go really high in those).

Was a totally perfect autumn day today. Not too hot, not too cold. A little rain storm that swept very quickly through the city to leave the sky scrubbed clean.
To the right is a photo of my new fish tank as of last night. I put the smallest danio in there tonight, and tomorrow I'll probably add the other small male so she doesn't get too lonely.
And now for a Friday Five:
1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not?
In some ways I am. Like I hate clutter and like putting things in their proper places, although I'm happier to clean up other peoples' mess than my own - I'm too lazy to clean up after myself. In other ways I'm not though. Like I have yet to find a diary/calendaring system I can use. I organise most events in my life on memory. I don't have too much trouble with this, as generally my life is so uneventful it's not a problem.
2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly?
I have a filofax that almost never gets used. Before that I had an electronic organiser that almost never got used.
3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?
Nope. Although plans for the weekend include organising it.
4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter?
Not really. I try and categorise them though.
5. What's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize?
Other people I think
Went to blog but the server was down.
Went to bed but the phone rang.
/me stares at the screen.
I blinked and I missed the weekend. Damn I need a holiday and some time to sort through my todo list

This is going to have to be a quickie - it's after 10:30 and I *need* to get to sleep early tonight.
I really need more than a 3 hour weekend. Didn't get to bed til after midnight last night which will knock me around for the rest of the week if I'm not careful.
Congrats to Nicole Kidman for winning Best Actress at the Academy Awards! :)
urgh I'm never gonna get to bed. I blinked and this weekend was over.
Spent all day at work yesterday fighting with our file server. It was meant to be a simple matter of installing a scsi card, LTO drive and backup software. It was an all day battle that we never fully resolved.
Then last night it was the EvilHouse Harley Warming which was a lot of fun and went til all hours.
This morning was church, then a couple of hours to take care of the fish tank and do some other bits and pieces before heading off to the parents for a baked dinner, and I've only just gotten home, with a list of things that I needed to do this weekend sitting rather untouched :( And I still haven't had enough sleep. Not looking forward to surviving tomorrow at all.
On a lighter note, it's been raining fairly heavily tonight which is great. It's kinda fun swooshing through huge puddles of rain in the car.
I'm gonna collapse in a minute. Should prolly get into bed before I collapse on something hard instead of soft

I managed to win four space lego auctions on ebay this afternoon, very exciting :):) I only missed out on one, because it went higher than I could really afford/was willing to pay for it. Plus the photo didn't include some of the bits the instruction photo said should have been there, so it's possible it wasn't a complete set.
I've also spent far too much time this weekend looking for the missing pieces to my other sets. There's a site called BrickLink which has vendors of lego, including Australian ones that just sell spare parts. Another weekend wasted.. :)
Well I achieved a few of my objectives for the weekend (including reinstalling windoze yayy) so not doing too badly. Got home rather late from Evilhouse this morning (got to bed at 4:30 - oops!); trundled off to chruch then home and tidied up a bit, then had an afternoon siesta which I needed badly. I was meant to be replacing a disk in gamera tonight, but haven't heard from Campbell and it's starting to get rather late. So now I'm watching some of the documentaries on the Lord of the Rings collector's edition.
Just talked to Campbell, the disk replacement is off.
Only 8 support mails in the queue, must be about bed time.. well soon anyway..
