It's at this point I wish I'd had more food and less alcohol tonight.
Still, it was a good night, and I'm not complaining :)
And I'm going to do all of the rest of the Friday Qs tomorrow, I promise ;)

Saw this very cool idea for a meme at Dave's. The idea is you answer a bunch of questions and post the picture returned by Google Images.
These are 21 things that I want in a lover
Not necessarily needs but qualities that I prefer
- Alanis Morissette
Or so the song goes. I thought about this entry on the way back from Queensland (when you're in the car for hours on end with nothing better to do). I thought of the first few things but hadn't thought too much about it since then.
Now as I procrastinate over doing USA pictures, I thought I'd put this together. No particular order (although the earlier ones are probably more important).
There's a very simple reason carbohydrates are fattening - because five minutes later you're hungry again!!
I had some leftover pasta for lunch (and a *late* lunch mind you), and an hour or so later I was starving again. That's just ridiculous! The same mass of protein would have kept me happily satisfied til dinner. I think that is part of the logic behind the Atkins diet? - protein and fatty foods fill you up betterer, so you just don't eat as much of it. Or something.
FQ1: What's your native language? Do you speak any foreign languages? If so, how did you come to learn them?
I speak english, having been born in Australia. I can ein bischen deutsch, but only a very little bit (learn in high school for a couple of years).
FQ2: What's your native country? Have you visited any foreign countries? If so, which ones?
Oh, already answered - Australia. I've been to New Zealand, Canada, and the USA (three times)
FQ3: Are there any foreign foods, books, movies, or other items that you are particularly fond of? Name some of your favorites.
The good thing about living in Sydney is that we get an amazing variety of foreign food. I like Thai, even though I don't like chili spice heh, italian, lebanese, mexican (again without the chili :) ).. well at least aspects of all sorts of things.
FQ NATIVE: If you had to trade your nationality for that of any foreign country, which would you choose and why?
Well I don't think I would for a start (Australia is the best country in the world ;) ). Possibly British or something European like German. I dunno.
Boring answers, sorry
FQ1: What music puts you in the mood for romance?
Shrug. Nothing in particular over anything else.
FQ2: Where is the perfect place for romancing someone?
Maybe an ocean at sunset or something.
FQ3: What kind of foods get you feeling romantic?
Again, nothing in particular. Maybe something sensual like strawberries/cherries/raspberries.
FQ LOVER: How would somebody go about winning your heart?
Be a friend first. I typically have to know a guy for a least six months before there is any romantic interest at all. I don't do "dating".
FQ1: Your favorite sweet food? When did you last have it?
Do I have to name one? I like soft centred chocolates like peppermint and strawberry creams. I like smarties and jaffas and lollies like skittles. I had a peppermint cream the other day, and some skittles the other day too.
FQ2: Your favorite salty food? When did you last have it?
Either potato crisps or salami. Had crisps last sunday, and salami the other day at subway.
FQ3: Your favorite sour food? When did you last have it?
Sour. hrm. The natural confectionary company's sour worms are good.
FQ EDIBLE: What's the best thing you've ever tasted? The most horrible thing you've ever tasted?
Roasted meat that's been sitting at the bottom of the baking dish in all the oil. There isn't much better than that! :) Most horrible would be blue vein cheese which I had once, in 1987, and will never eat again.
FQ1: Something green you like to eat...
Green? Like to eat? In the same sentence? How about green smarties? Mint Lindt? (although they're not green, but the wrappers are) :) Oh all right, a *real* green food I like to eat would probably be peas
FQ2: Something green you like to wear...
I have a couple of green t-shirts. I'm actually wearing one of them now. And if I'd thought of it yesterday (and it wasn't so damned dark when I'm getting up at the moment) I would have worn one then.
FQ3: Something green you like to look at...
Maybe my fish tanks. The tetra tank is a pretty good green jungle. But all plants are good.
FQ GALLERY: Post a photo you took (or an illustration you made) of something green...
Just one?? .. goes off to search through the archives ..
Well this is the first one that stood out while going backwards through the recent collection.. it's a Fisher Price car and dude.

Addendum. Space lego isn't green. But here's the hat off my maxi-minifig, and one of Josh's bionicles..

FQ1: Who is an actor or director you trust to always make a good film? What is it about their previous works that make you trust them?
Probably Steven Spielberg. The odd film of his doesn't hold my interest (like Amistad which I'm struggling to get through on video), but for the most part I love his films.
FQ2: Where is a place you trust to always make a good food? What is it about their previous culinary creations that make you trust them?
I dunno. Maybe Tum's Thai in Randwick. Always good food. Although the silly thing is for most of my life I couldn't eat spicy food. A couple of years ago I thoguht I should start building up my tolerance. Red curries are now no problem. So slowly getting there.
FQ3: What's a company you trust to always make a good product? What is it about their previous stuff that make you trust them?
3M makes lots of cool crap. Maybe Sony too.
FQ YOU: What is something you do so well that people can absolutely trust you with it? What's something that people should never trust you with?
Trust me with? pfft. I dunno, people seem to trust me with fish for some reason. um.
And people shouldn't trust me with fast cars. Well, WRXes at least.. shrug..
Lost another baby krib yesterday. Who knows how many other dead ones are amongst the moss. Really should try and sell em before they all die :/
And lost one of the neon tetras in the tetra tank. This is the biggest neon tetra I have ever seen, at nearly two years old. I measured him when I pulled him out of the tank - 4cm ! Noticed he was looking a bit distressed yesterday, and tonight he'd gone :(
The betta in the tetra tank is also looking very sad. He's a year and a half old, and hasn't been well for a couple of weeks.
And finally worried about one of the black angels. She's been off her food for a week or two, same as what happened to the white angel just before she died :(
All my tanks are a disaster at the moment and I don't know why. Probably acidic water from not enough changes. That'll learn me to be a slacker .
And on an unrelated topic, one of the freakiest things I've seen in a while - pictures taken on someone's digital camera of the tsunami. The people that took them died, but the memory card from their camera was recovered, and had pictures of the tsunami rolling in.
