B&B Villa Olmo, Via Ludovico Zamenhof 4, 22100 Como, Italy
The location for this B&B was incorrect in Google Maps which caused me some confusion finding the place. I've since fixed it :) This was our first stay in this style of B&B so it definitely takes some getting used to - it's a very different experience to a hotel. There's free on street parking in the private road outside, however I was worried about getting towed (we had German number plates) so paid $10 euro/night to park behind a boom gate which I felt happier about. There's three rooms at the B&B but the layout is a little strange - there's a common area that goes through all three (you have to pass through the common area to use the bathroom). Marcello the owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, however I found it very warm. There was a ceiling fan which only just worked to keep the air moving slightly. There were plenty of cupboards and drawers but most of them were locked which I found a little strange. The location is a bit out of town, which makes driving to it a little less stressful, but it's about a half hour walk to get into the old town. There's a bus outside the door and you can buy tickets in the cafe/shop next door. Breakfast is coffee and a pastry from the cafe next door.
