So at Dubai we finally arrived at gate A21 around midnight Dubai time. A21 is probably the nicest airport gate I've ever been to (and the only one of its style in all of terminal A). It had recliner seats (I didn't try one, but Mum said it wasn't that comfortable), low level desks, high level desks, and little square bench seats. All with power. EXCEPT THE POWER WASN'T WORKING ANYWHERE!!! WTF??? Seriously, second airport that day where they taunt you with power points that aren't enabled. So lame.

Mum said these lounges weren't all that comfortable
I was zombie tired and restless, so did a lap of entire terminal A. Took me about half an hour of slow walking. We still had an hour to wait, so Mum came with me on another lap. Part way back we found a closed café that had power points, so sat down there and I gave my phone a zap. The seats were actually more comfortable than A21, go figure. Anyway so that was nice. Then wandered back to the gate for boarding.
A380 this time, also with a window seat up the back. Mum wanted to see the pretty lights of Dubai, so let her have the window seat for takeoff. Not that she took many photos, doh. And the GPS worked which was nice.

I was too tired to concentrate on any movies, so I put on a documentary about Julia Child. That was quite interesting. I even managed to doze for an hour or two which was pretty impressive, as I almost never sleep on planes. I also put on Looney Tunes back in action which was a bit of silly fun.
I had the turkey roll for the light snack (at like 4:30 Dubai time) and the mushroom omelette for breakfast (at 9:00 Dubai time, but mid afternoon Singapore time). Landed in Singapore around 11:00 Dubai time, 15:00 Singapore time)

Then at Singapore it was the zombie trek out of the airport. Bit of a wait to get through passport control. We'd had to sign a covid/sickness declaration before boarding in Venice, but they never wanted to actually see our vaccination certificates. Shrug. Then grabbed our bags and headed out. First I changed out of my jeans and put my lightweight pants on. Then took the sky train to T3. Then had to buy new MRT cards because our old ones had expired.

It was around 17:00 by the time we got onto a train. Then three trains to our hotel.

No durians!
Had to walk All The Way around because I didn't actually where the entrance was. And then had to wait ages for people in front of us. But got to our room and it was awesome!! Lovely and cool from a proper working air conditioner. Nice firm beds, good pillows.
First order of business - a swim in the pool! So that was lovely.
Then had a shower and got ready and headed out for dinner.

Found a place at Clarke Quay which was probably too expensive for what it was, but it was quite nice.
Then wandered. All the way to the Merlion. Whoops.

Then wandered back. Was quite late by the time we got to bed.
