Day 28 - Tuesday 4 October - Venice to Dubai

Urgh sleep was awful. Woke up all hot and sweaty and couldn't get back to sleep. Ended up opening the window anyway and eventually got back to sleep.

Breakfast was ok again.

Finished getting ready then went for a wander. Wandered through some alleys in an eastwards direction, and popped out near the fancy sailing ship. Walked up to it, then up to the war ship, then wandered back to the hotel.

Checked out, and walked down to B1 - the Alilaguna ferry stop. We were a little early, but better than being late. And then the water ferry to the airport which was nice.

At the airport you go on a long series of travelators to the terminal. Found our checkin terminal (downstairs) and checked in.

Then into the airport. We had a while to wait (again, better to get there early than late). Venice airport nicely puts power and usb ports between the seats. Except none of them were turned on, so there was no power. #grunt. Typed up a couple of days worth of blog entries (24/25) but didn't get them online.

Boarded, and I got a window seat near to the back which was nice. Not that there was all that much to see. Emirates have dropped their mask mandate in the past few weeks, so of course almost noone was wearing them.

Watched The 'Burbs which I hadn't seen in over thirty years, if at all. Also watched Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (was too tired and restless to concentrate on much else).

Had the chicken for dinner, which was actually quite nice.
