Gosh.
Um.
Well yesterday was a bit of a cleaning day and then we wandered out to see a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, which was quite raw, being performed by high school students and they only having 7 weeks to practise. But it was still a lot of fun (for me) and I sang the entire way through it :) The boys all made fun of it tho.. doh! Afterwoods we made it just in time to get KFC for a late dinner and then came home.
Today was babysitting day. Took Josh and Rachel to McDonalds for breakfast, then Questacon until we were rescued.. and this was after not getting much sleep last night and then having to get up at the unearthly hour of 6:45am. By 3pm we were completely wasted (actually we were wasted a lot earlier than that! heh). So then jumped in the car and headed back to Sydney, and straight on to A&M's where I had some *very* nice champagne and Alan excelled himself as always with dinner. Then home finally, where I was sadly met by *no* fish - the first time in nearly five years I've not come home to fishies. Very sad. That, and quite a pile of mail, but that did include The Hunt for Red October soundtrack which I'm listening to and it's very cool.
But now, even without seeing today's photos, I'm off to bed!
So Google has reverted to older images of the Sydney CBD. Possibly in anticipation of APEC, and being all paranoid-like. Personally I think it's an improvement. The images they uploaded after Australia Day were a disaster, with an awful mish-mash of buildings and streets that looked terrible. At least now all the buildings are facing the same way. Maybe when they revert to the newer images they'll fix everything up. We can only live in hope.

Have I ever mentioned that I was once on Burgo's Catch Phrase? Seems I've mentioned the auditions.. So. In October 2002 I was on Catchphrase. I happened to be on the same night as Dawn Lewis. I lost. She went on to win the car. I don't feel so bad about losing to someone who was good enough to win the car. There was one other girl who was there at the same time as me who was lucky enough not to have to go up against Dawn. She was on for two nights I think. I wished I was her :) Of course it wouldn't have made much difference. I was wearing contacts at the time and couldn't see across the floor to the monitor to actually see what was coming up. I was at a distinct disadvantage. That, and going up against Dawn :) At least I won something, the other girl I was with didn't even get a single thing. The only reason this came up tonight was that mum was printing some photos and printed the one with me and Burgo and Adriana Xenides, who happened to be co-hosting the week I was on.

Oh yeah, I turned 12418 days old today. Minor achievement.
So we had lamb roast, and it was yummiferous. We had alcomohol. We played a couple of games of Buzz. We sang into the night. We did Legends and Anthems and when the others went to bed we put on Rocks. Which for some reason I seem to do very well at. Not only was I consistently beating David, but setting high scores as well. We stayed up later than ever, probably because it'll be the last time for a long time (that, and I wasn't ready to tilt my head yet heh).
This morning we went out for "coffee" with the kids, but then had to rush back and rush to the airport. All the goodbyes, including Stu's, were very rushed, which was frustrating. The flight was ok. Cloudy though, but did come in over the Eastern Suburbs so hopefully have some good photos that I don't normally get.
Home now, feeling very down :(
I had another go at making a movie tonight. I tried last year but I was a little over ambitious with what I was trying to do and ultimately failed. This time I thought I'd make it somewhat simpler. A two minute song and some selected photos from Luc's renovation. And it's as simple as it can get, just all the photos dumped into the timeline without any fancy transitions or any fluff like that.
I might YouTube it, but this version, 7mb, is much better quality than you'd get there. And one day soon I'll figure out how to convert it to a more useful format such as avi...
Last year around this time, when I last dragged my Canada jumper out for the first time of the season, I wondered if I'd been in Canada that day two years previous, and I was. I did the same thing this morning. Two days earlier. This time three years ago we were staying in Canmore, and drove up and down the Icefields Parkway, seeing Banff National Park, Sulphur Mountain Gondola, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Travelblog entry here, and more photos here.
It was also three years ago I saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on opening night.
Maybe I should have made this entry Boring Blogger Part IV ..? :)
Went and saw The Amazing Human Body today (as featured in Casino Royale). It was ultra cool. Unfortunately overcrowded, and not really the time to look at things I would have liked. It had cleared out a lot more by the hour before closing, would have been better to go an hour later. The "complete" bodies were also really badly lit, with most of them having a single spotlight from a distance, so when people stood around them they were in shadow. Stupid stupid.
The dissections were very cool though. And the slices. But my favourite things were the casts of the blood vessels, especially some of the better ones like of an arm and hand. Really intricate and tiny blood vessels were captured. Was really really annoying that you couldn't take photos.
Only a week left in Sydney, then it's off to Melbourne.

Thought these Russian cakes were pretty cool..
(There's a link to some Kursk photos there too)
Fog is cool. Trying to take photos of said fog while driving in peak hour traffic is difficult. While I didn't get anything nearly as nice as CC, I did get this okish one of the tower looming through the fog...

Uploaded 55 photos for April and slotted them into the appropriate entries. If you're interested, check out the April archive.
