So we had this all day work thing today.  Which wasn't so bad, except I kept having it rubbed into me what an epic failure I am at project management :(  The one good thing I take away was the idea of having leadership qualities without necessarily being a "leader".  Took a couple of photos of one of the worksheets I'll try and use at work.

But after a couple of drinks and then dinner, they got a surprise speaker - Robyn Moore - the Spray and Wipe, Blinky Bill and How Green Was my Cactus lady!!  She was epic cool!!!  Totally awesome speaker :) Thoroughly enjoyed her almost stand-up comic style talk.  Very very cool!

Ornaments

One of the boxes I unpacked in the garage contained what's left of my ornament collection.

I did have quite a few more things, but I gave them away before I moved to Canberra (I took photos of everything before I gave them away).  Actually just looking over the photos now I suppose maybe I could have kept more of them.  I think the little plastic dogs I should have kept.  And the painted egg.  And the large horse.  And the dolphin kinetic balancer ..   annnyhoo..

This is what I did keep:

Kazza's ornaments
The larger swan I'm pretty sure was a gift from Donna Bonnefin early in primary school.  When the smaller one came along it went well with it.

The penguin I got on Philip Island in 1990.

The dandelion in resin I bought up at Randwick a year or two before I left Sydney.  The Faculty Dean had one like it on his desk that I drooled over every time I saw it, so when I saw them for sale I snatched one up at ~$50 I think it was.  Apparently they wreck a lot of dandelions before they get one that works.  I'll post a better pic of it some time.

The squirrel (squirrel!!) I got in Disneyland in 1983.  It was a souvenir that I chose when the parents said we could choose something.

The larger of the two horses was a replacement for one of my earliest ornaments.  I got the original in either kindergarten or first class.  He was called Bow (or Beau?) and I took him to school for show and tell.  Three points if you can get what happened.  We tried to superglue his broken leg back on, but it never really worked.  A year or two later I got a replacement!  And some time after that got the smaller one.

The pet rock has bit of scaly nose that looks a lot like a lizard.  I wrote a creative writing piece in English one year about her.  I remember the first line was "Liz was a rock".

The yellow bouncy thing I also got in primary school.  For some reason it reminds me of Bryony Walker.

The crystal elephant was a gift from Guy when we were dating.

I was going to blog tonight. Really I was.  Except I haven't downloaded my photos yet.  Not that anything exciting has happened, so you haven't missed anything.

Had an epic crap week at work.  The stress is going to kill me I'm sure :(

Attempted to make a pasta sauce on Friday night, but didn't have nearly enough tomatoes.  So used it in a lasagna tonight and it worked really well.

Did lots of tidying in the garage.  Should have taken some before and after photos..

Did a very easy 500 piece jigsaw.

Didn't do much UK planning.  Although have a bit of a rough itinerary.  At the moment based on flights, car hire options and a Stone Circle Access visit to Stonehenge.

Very excited by the Masterchef visit to London.  We'll be there in two and a bit months!

Other than that, we only left the house this weekend to do our food shopping.
Actually this was week before last .. been seeing a lot of balloons lately

Balloons

Last Sunday morning I made pancakes for breakfast

Pancakes
Thursday morning took photos of fish

Duboisies
And saw a big Dong

Friday there were four gak gak birds lined up in a row

Saturday we had a pastry and coffee at Knead

and then did our food shopping afterwards.

I did a jigsaw

Dog jigsaw
And did a bunch of UK planning.

Didn't end up going out for dinner, which was a bit sad-making.  Watched Toy Story 1 and 2 instead.

Today it was miserable again, so stayed inside all day.  Did a whole lot of nothing, played a game of Ticket to Ride Europe, and cooked dinner.  Which is still cooking :)

Where was I?

Now that I've blogged every day for a month and linked all my Europe photos, don't know were to go next ;)

I did find something exciting tonight.. when I first setup this blog on this new host two and a half years ago, I could never figure out why the email notifications for comments on my blog didn't work.  Well it turned out they did, but they were being bounced because this host expected I was also hosting the MX record on the server, which I wasn't.  So tonight when I was poking around at the mail on this server tonight because I actually want to bring the MX record across, I found all those emails!!  Epic squeeeee!!!!

Holidays

Two years ago today we had a little bit of an explore of Heidelberg before heading back to Frankfurt and spending two days flying home.  Would have been nice to spend a bit more time in Heidelberg as we didn't get to explore the castle at all.

Overall the honeymoon was pretty darned good.  I just wish I'd planned it better.  Because I spent so long planning the wedding, I hardly did any honeymoon planning at all.  We basically chose what cities we'd be going to and for how long, the first two places accommodation, and that was it.  We did most of our planning once we arrived in places, and booked the next accommodation from the previous place.  So there were things we missed because we just didn't know about them.  And some bad weather in the alps didn't help much either heh.

A bit over a month ago I noticed the last entry of the honeymoon blog that said:

Hopefully it won't take two years to do like my USA photos did... ;)

Yeah.  So I'm actually a long way behind even that, because all I managed to do was pick photos for the blog.  Nothing has been labelled or geotagged.  Oops.

Anyways.

See the entire honeymoon blog on one page (temporarily anyway).

So it seems fitting that two years after the last day of our honeymoon, I booked our next holiday!!  To Japan and the UK later this year :)
So I spent the entire day today trying to do my morning routine (and deal with on call daily crap).  Felt like I was spinning my wheels and not actually getting anywhere.

Still, it was the end of on call tonight which meant plenty of beer and then dinner out with the boys :)

Two years ago today the sweetie and I went to Legoland Deutschland!! Which was an epic win day :):):)  And people do you have *ANY IDEA*.. I mean *ANY AT ALL* how hard it was to cull down my photos from that day????  I took 550 photos that day, and that was severely hampered by how much memory space I had at the time.  I cut it down to 58 for the blog...
Balloons

Went out for breakfast this morning to Black Pepper, then feed the birdies by the lake and then did some shopping at the markets.

This arvo was cleaning house all day and making Lego.

This evening Nat and Andrew came over and we watched some tv and played some Buzz and Wii.  And got the worst Pizza Hut pizza *ever* !!  Will be writing a letter to Pizza Hut tomorrow about how epic crap it was (nearly two hours wait and it was cold when it got here :( ).  But otherwise a fun night.

Some photos of today will be updated when I get around to getting them off the camera...

Two years ago today we visited Schloss Schönbrunn in Vienna, then the Wiener Riesenrad (big Ferris Wheel).

Canberra Autumn

When we were in the taxi to AGIMO yesterday we noticed how lovely the autumn colours were at the moment on the trees around the lake.  So after brunch at Gus', we met up with the Windys down at the lake.  I took over three hundred photos.  Oops.

Two years ago today we headed out to Potsdam and cycled around some of the palaces, then had a swim in Wannsee.
Me little brother and co were in Longreach today.  So friggen jealous.  Think might need to take a road trip or something next winter...

Meanwhile... two years ago today we saw some of the remnants of the Berlin Wall at Bernauer Strasse, visted the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, wandered through the Tiergarten and up the Victory Column, looked at the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church and Schloss Charlttenburg and took more photos of everything on the way back..
