Day 5 - Saturday 18 November - New York

Didn't sleep very well last night.  Pete fell asleep watching tv, and we ended up sleeping head-to-tail.  But the room was very hot and uncomfortable (it had a big thick hot water heating pipe running right through the room).  Got up quite late after a bit of a sleep-in.

Wandered down to Times Square and got ourselves a two day ticket with "Big Apple Tours".

After breakfast we changed rooms in the hotel to one with two beds.

Then headed back down to Times Square again and hopped on one of the Big Apple Tours tour buses.  Took their City Tour all round midtown, down through Greenwich Village, Chinatown and little Italy to the financial district.  Took lots of photos!

We ended up in Battery Park, and found out that you really need to be at the Statue of Liberty very early if you want to get up it.

Also, it's really really cold here!  Not snowing, but the wind is a killer.  I spent $5 USD on a beanie which has the New York Yankees logo on it.

It was also a bit cloudy, so we just wandered around lower Manhatten.

After it got dark we caught the subway back up town (after taking the wrong train lines - twice - ending up over the bridge in Queens - oops - but eventually made it back).

Checked our email, crashed in front of Twister, and ordered a pizza for dinner.
