Day 9 - Wednesday 22 November - Washington DC

Had another long walking day today.

Walked down to the White House this morning and waited outside for an hour and a half (if I'd turned up a bit later I probably wouldn't have had to wait so long, but it was one of my priorities to see in Washington DC).  It was pretty impressive inside.  Pity you can't take photos inside :(

Then waited at Washington Monument for half an hour before going up.  Then didn't get to stay for very long because it was too windy so they closed the monument.  Oh well.  So that was a little bit sucky.  I might have gone back later but I didn't get the time (and managed to get a bunch of photos anyway).

Wednesday afternoon had beautiful blue skies, so went on a building and monument crawl - taking photos all the way up the mall to Capitol Hill, and back again.
