Day 14 - Monday 27 November - Washington DC to Anaheim

Got up very early this morning and got to the airport early so I could get a window seat.

There was patchy cloud cover on the flight, but was still able to see lots of things.

Came into LA from the south-east, and we were flying over LA for probably around twenty minutes - the city is *huge*!

At LAX, all I knew about Pete's flight from Indianapolis was the flight number.  But we had no prearranged plans about where to meet each other, and no way of calling each other.  Probably not the smartest thing to do.  Really need to be better organised with that sort of thing.  Anyway, so I made an educated guess at which direction he might walk after getting off his flight, and decided to just sit and wait.  By some miracle, he actually found me about half an hour after I got there!

We got on a shuttle and headed through the city.  The shuttle ride took forever because we had a long way to go and we kept dropping people off in various parts of the city.  We even had another accident because the shuttle bus driver was day dreaming and ran up the back of a car.  Fortunately the car heard the skidding and tried to move away, so the impact wasn't huge.

We got to the motel - the Park Vue Inn - which is in the *best* location - literally across the road from the Disneyland entrance - at about 4pm.  I decided to go across and investigate going to Disneyland that night.  The park was open til 8pm.  Single day tickets are $43, and two days are $76.  You can get into the park early (8:30am) if you get a multiday pass, but you have to pay an extra $8 to get in early, and you also needed something from your hotel which would have meant more time taken out trying to sort that out.  Arrgghhh!!  I hate Disney.  In the end I decided not to give Disney any extra money than I needed to and not go in at all in the evening.

Went for a walk with Pete to find dinner.  Found a big bag of Jelly Bellys for a very cheap price so bought some, and had Taco Bell for dinner.
