Today sucked hardcore.
Firstly I had to move out of the hotel. Pete is off to Indianapolis for the wedding, but this hotel is wayyy too expensive to stay at by myself. So I found a Motel 6 a little way out of town, but it's in a bit of a dodgy neighbourhood which is a little scary.
Went inside the Capitol Building which was probably the highlight of the day. I queued up for half an hour to get inside. It's not bad, but the most interesting parts (the House and Senate chambers) they don't let you take photos of. Bummer!

But then I tried to go into the Supreme Court and I just couldn't get through the metal detectors without them going off. I was getting quite frustrated (because I've been through half the metal detectors in the city so far, including the White House and haven't had a problem) and they could see me getting upset and probably thought I was a terrorist :( In the end they waved a portable metal detector over me and let me in. But I was pretty upset so just took a couple of photos then left again.

Went up to Union Station and had a look there.

But I couldn't get into the FBI building because it was closed for the Thanksgiving Day long weekend. Even though it was Friday and not a public holiday.

And my feet hurt.
And there's no shopping in the middle of the city.
And I had to walk back through dodgy suburb.
So I stopped in a bottle shop to get something to drink on the way back to the motel. And got asked for ID. I'm 27 years old! I suppose I should take that as a compliment...
