For some reason all I manage to achieve on the weekend on my blog is fluff. Whereas in fact I actually got quite a lot done.

Friday night was meant to be a video night at Ric's to watch the Running Man, but we lost interest in that and ended up just listening to music and bopping.

Saturday morning I cleaned out a bunch of stuff from the flat and garage. I threw out four computers, a monitor, a printer, and a couple of old pots and boxes for the next council cleanup. By Sunday afternoon the whole lot was gone. Go figure.

Saturday night dinner at the parents. Saw a spectacular moonrise on the way home. It was a half moon, but almost at 45° It looked really strange.

Sunday after church walked up to the shops to look for jeans. After swearing I'd never go to jeanswest again after they changed their sizes without telling anyone, meaning I had two pairs of jeans that were too big for me for two years. But I was out of options cause the other jeans shops don't make jeans that fit bodies like mine. So back to jeanswest. Strangely enough (after choosing a size smaller than my previous pairs) they fitted perfectly first go. Sigh. Not only that, but $45 cheaper *per pair* than the other jeans stores had. What can you do really.

Got my garage swept out and all the boxes and packing materials sorted, and suddenly it feels a bunch more spacious. Coolness.

Weekend finished out with my favourite beef stew dinner at Alan's, and some fizzling. Took some fairly cool sunset photos.

Tonight while sorting out some lego I found I was almost visitor 8888888 to Bricklink, so I reloaded the page a few times til I got there :)

With all my posting on moon photos, I neglected to post the other boring goings-on in my life (and I *still* haven't done the Friday Q even though it's the easiest one in ages).

So.

Friday Night

Video night at Campbell's. It was a late start and much pondering was done before we started, so it was quite late by the time we got on a movie (Napoleon Dynamite, which was just strange), and afterward we just chatted and eventually wandered home just after 1am (whereupon I took moon photos).

Saturday

Attempt to sleep in. Fail. No matter how late I stay up, I seem to always wake up between 7am and 8am. Did a decent chunk of tidying up, and lego sorting for stuff to sell on ebay. Took moon photos.

Sunday

Attempt to sleep in. Slightly more success. Church, then a bit of a chill out afternoon. I can't really remember what I did. Couldn't have been too important. Then Josh called up to see if I wanted to go to Sizzler with them. Which was utterly unexpected. That's twice in two weeks that lot has invited me out with them. Ate entirely too much, even though on the face of it I didn't eat much at all :( Damned all you can eats are just not good value with a stomach my size! Took more moon photos during the eclipse.

Monday

Attempt to sleep in. Some success. Watched the Anzac Day march for a while and saw my grandfather's battalion, including someone I know from my parents' church who marches most years. Wandered over to Luc's to help at the house. Moved 200 bricks 4 metres. And a bit of general cleanup. Came home and read more of Aurelius' and Pinky's blogs. May have got someone arrested at work today. More later if it actually transpired :) Then went to the parents' for a lamb roast. And suddenly it's 10pm. No moon photos tonight though.

Missed events

I could have seen Campbell every day this weekend. Him and Ric were going to Elixir which would have been fun to go to, but those things just take up so much of the weekend (and with petrol prices the way they are it would have cost me $15 just to get there and back). Then they were going to go snorkling today, which again would have been good, but I'd already said I'd help Luc out. Not that I couldn't have gotten out of that, but ultimately the hassle factor of snorkling put me off, especially since they were thinking of going to the northern beaches.

I'm going to bed now I think.

Neighbour

So two nights before Easter, I noticed that the light was on in the neighbours place directly opposite my bedroom and up a level in the next block of flats. It was on all night. It kept me awake because every time I looked out the window the light was on. Something was wrong.

At first I thought that perhaps the flat was up for sale or lease, and someone had left the light on while showing people around. It stressed me that the light was going to be on all Easter weekend using up electricity. Saturday I looked up on Domain to see if it was for sale or lease. No sign of it.

Then I thought that perhaps the owners were on holidays and had left the light on and gone away. But it's now been two and a half weeks. And school holidays have only just started.

So then I started thinking bad things. Like perhaps someone died in there and noone has noticed yet. Presumably the neighbours would have noticed the smell in the stairwells by now, so it's probably not that. But certainly a possibility. Was wondering if I should try and get into the building and have a look.

So anyway. What can you do hey.

It sucks being me

Campbell and I were going to go snorkelling today, but he had to help his flatmate move. We may go tomorrow, but today is such a glorious day to be outdoors. 28C and 32.5% humidity. Maybe the last swimming weekend of the year, so I try and get someone to come over for a swim.

Campbell - moving
Ric - sick with a cold
Ding - no answer (answered later - not interested - too late)
Trainman - no answer (answered later - too far to come)
Dave H - no answer (answered much later - working)
Striker works Saturdays.

So I'm sitting at my puta feeling like I need to swim or dance or do something physical, but absolutely noone to do it with. Suck suck suck.

So in the post tonight there's a letter from the managing agent. There will be a "fire inspection" on Thursday at 7am. WTF?? They expect us to be home and yet they only give us **36 HOURS NOTICE**????

So now I have to clean up the flat which I was planning to do on the weekend in the space of an hour, and be dressed and ready by 7am on Thursday. That's just crap!

I blame Jake

For wasting half my weekend.

Starting with Image Puzzle. Worked my way through the image puzzles (hint: playing with pallettes in photoshop was a big help), then through the code puzzles, onto maths puzzles (decimal points are represented by , not .) and finally the general knowledge ones (I cheated on a couple in Google).

Moving onto Flash Test. I scored 8, which means I got 12/16 right, which is certainly above average.

Now I'm going back to reading Prey, which I'm finding fascinating.. very Jurassic Park-ish feel to it.

It's a known fact that electronic componentry doesn't work without the smoke. Once you let it out, things don't work anymore. Such is the story with my vcr. We had a couple of power outages overnight, and during one of them, presumably at the end of one when the power was restored, my vcr power supply was fried. I didn't actually see the smoke get out, but it sure stinks. Will have to get my daddy to have a look, otherwise it'll be time to invest in that dvd recorder :)

My watch also died on the weekend. Battery replaced today and all is well with the world.

Was going to clean up my puta some more tonight but feeling very unmotivated at the moment.

Gack

Got the car back yesterday. $519 later. New clutch, much nicerer and don't have to fight to put it into reverse anymore.
Told Jim off. But he still invited me to lunch. Weird.
Spent all day yesterday on usa pics. Spent all tonight on same. Worried how much I still have to do and how much cleaning I have to do before the weekend, given that will probably be out tomorrow night. Leaves me a whole one night to do *everything*
GACK!

It never ends

No car. Broken clutch. Getting it towed to the mechanic tomorrow, but probably won't get it back til Monday. Didn't get to the post office to pick up me lego. Didn't go shopping, so no milk for breakfast tomorrow. Booked skydiving for the weekend, but Ric is going to have to drive us. Meant to have a slide night next weekend, but still haven't even sorted out which photos I want to show, made up panoramas, or invited more than a couple of people to come.

/me collapses in a heap.

On a slightly lighter note, I went over to the neighbour's and ended up invited for dinner. And they appreciated my Christmas tree, which is nice.

After not eating dinner at all last night, tonight I had about three dinners worth, plus a tonne of chocolate.

Then we played which I don't know the official name of, it's always been played as the location of when you're playing it. Tonight it was "Ethelville". I won the first game, and came a close third on the second.

I think I should eat nothing but orange juice and water for a day or two .. just to flush everything out. Definitely not eating properly at the moment.

Hoping to jump out of a plane this weekend.

And get to bed before it gets too much later.
