Friday night after a completely blah week Chrissie suggested drinks and takeaway.  We said so long as no drama then ok.  So we did that and it was quite nice.

Saturday was mostly housework and trying to sort out paperwork.  Cause that's all I seem to do on weekends.

Saturday night was going to be a p0ker night but Serena was very sick and we had to cancel, so we decided to go to the movies.  Went and saw Star Trek Beyond.

Sunday I mostly spent doing puzzles - nonograms and jigsaws.  Went to lunch at Casey Jones with Annie and the family (food was pretty good - I had pork belly (no crackling tho) - but the service was pretty slow - they've only just opened so still finding their feet), then went back to their place for dessert and mostly did a jigsaw they'd had out for ages not getting done.

Then the little brother and Kat arrived.  Had KFC for dinner (somewhat of a tradition).  We finished the 1500 piece jigsaw I had out, then smashed out a 1000 piece jigsaw in the evening.

Tonight David and Kat came back cause their day at the museum finished a lot later than they'd hoped.  So we did a 500 piece jigsaw.  As you do.

Friday night we watched Argo.  I liked it, aside from constantly thinking "did this *actually* happen?".  Well the plane chase apparently didn't.  heh.

Had a pretty quiet weekend.  Did a lot of housework and stuff.  Geotagged a few days worth of photos.  Did food shopping yesterday.  Watched several episodes of TOS.  This afternoon I pretty much just cooked all afternoon.  First up a raspberry crumble from a packet of frozen raspberries that had been in the freezer probably since I inherited them off Potty at the end of last year.  Then a breakfast lasagna.  Then a real lasagna (prepared but not baked yet).  Had a break to have a walk at the very muddy Palmerville.  Then finished up with a small roast for dinner.

The sweetie made good progress on his essay until he got a migraine tonight :(

Now we're both going to have an early night.

Last night we went over to Ben's new place for dinner.  He made a lasagna which was delicious.  Then just chatted and half watched the food channel.  His new flatmate Tim seems like quite a nice guy.

Bit better day today.  Even though I never rebooted, the scanner decided it would work this morning so scanned thirty six photos.

Tonight my todo list took me til just now (9:40pm) to get through.  It include such things as cooking dinner, cleaning up the kitchen and running the dishwasher, taking out the recycling, doing a load of washing and hanging it out, and downloading my photos and backing up my computer.  That one took a while because I was closely watching it to make sure windows 10 didn't do anything funky with robocopy.  Aside from some new status codes (anything that's not modified is "modified" - wtf?? and some files said "older", but what the heck does that mean?  It still has extra files, actually modified files, new files etc.  Weird weird weird).  But I checked source and destination file and byte counts and it all looked ok.

I also managed to geotag day 33 of my trip, and after adding the exiftool to the exclusions list from Windows Defender, it seems to run a *lot* faster!

Now it's 9:45pm and I still need to wash my hair.. :/

Friday night we had dinner with Damien and Amanda at the Dumpling Inn.  That was nice to catch up with them - haven't seen them in ages.

Saturday morning we did a bunch of shopping, then headed out to the club for a Christmas in July.  We got there a bit before 1:30pm, I put the pork on at 1:50pm, and spent most of the rest of the afternoon organising and preparing and cooking and stuff.  Had some help chopping veggies which was nice, and some people decorated the shed so it was all quite nice.  We bought a 4.8kg piece of pork.  1kg chicken roll.  Lots of veggies.  Made apple sauce from scratch.  We came home with a chinese container of pork.  People ate a lot I tells ya!  Everyone seemed to have a good time so that was nice.

This is not even all the food - it doesn't show the epic potato bake or really show the carrots and peas!

Oh we also made two pavlovas and brought some fruit cake.  Came home with three slices of pavlova and a bit of fruit cake.  Ok I didn't *make* the pavlova, just topped it with cream and berries.

Sunday was basically just housework.

Today I tried to do my usual morning routine of scanning some photos but my computer refused to talk to the scanner :(  Extremelly upsetting.  Will probably have to reboot my computer and *hope* I can connect next time.

Then Ingress was a big poo due to the last buggy release which meant needing to reboot the phone, then Optus was being a poo so missed out on glyph hacking a level 8 portal.  So I was having a crap day and hadn't even made it to work yet. :(

At work I'm feeling pretty useless.  I'm really too dumb to be in the team I'm in.  *sigh*

So a pretty good weekend.  In that I got to spend most of it at home doing *stuff*.

Yesterday I installed Windows 10 on my puta.  After one false start I tried again and it installed.  Took most of the day to download, install, fail, try again and install.

Some notes so far:

* video adapter was not found straight away so had to download an updated driver for it
* ugly window frames.  seriously.  ugly.
* it kept all my task bar settings which was nice of it
* gadgets are gone - but logitech motion sensor still works
* images defaulted back to opening with microsoft, had to change back to acdsee
* geosetter had a spaz about Internet Explorer, but I'm not sure it was that - could just have been our internet which has been mostly dead all weekend, or the file on the site just wasn't there anymore.  Coincidence?

Other than that yesterday was fish tank stuff, housework and food shopping.  Chrissie came up in the evening for a roast pork dinner, and we just chatted for ages after dinner which was nice.

Today was some food cooking, holiday photo processing, a walk with Chris, pool maintenance, more food cooking etc.  I'm sure there was more but it escapes me right now.

Our internet has been epic fubar this weekend.  Usually it's bad when it's windy/rainy, but it's been especially fail this weekend.

Oh we also bought some danios to be dither fish in my upstairs two foot, which they did splendidly for.  The rummy nosed tetras coloured up beautifully and have been swimming around not just hiding.  The danios I have in my big tank look *huge* in comparison - I think they're all girls!  Stu bought some worms which I've fed to all the fish.  The angel knew exactly what to do, but the danios took a while to figure out they were food!

Where'd I get up to?

Thursday night we had a whiskey tasting night.  Nothing really stood out for me.  Mostly because Neil didn't get any peaty whiskeys heh.  The four Scottish ones were much the same (one was slightly rougher than the others).  The Nikka was probably my favourite, just because of the hint of smoke.  Early night and slept reasonably well.

Friday I got a bunch of cleanup work done, then left early and headed with the sweetie down to the coast.  Stopped in Batemans Bay for dinner at KFC (bad move - they're even more inefficient than Belconnen and we took fifteen minutes to get our food!).  Chilled out at the house, and I started a jigsaw.

Saturday I finished the first jigsaw and moved onto a second.  Went to Myrtle Beach and even had a swim (well a wade really, I hadn't taken my glasses off and didn't want to lose them).  It was cold, but not freezing.  Couple of weirdos though - one meerkat and his wandering mate.  Yeup.  Saturday night we got pizzas from Steveo's.  We got three, but really only needed one.  Two tops - having some for breakfast we *still* brought home a full pizza!  Then watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to see if it was as bad as we remembered.  It was.  And then some.

Today I finished the second jigsaw and decided to squeeze in a third while the sweetie did reading for uni.  Then cleaned up and came home.

Almost hit two kangaroos - one on the way down on Friday night, and one on the way out to Myrtle Beach.  The second one was panicking and actually slipped over on the road in front of us.  We'd slowed right down though so it was all fine.  The first one just bounced gently across the road in front of us but didn't do anything stoopid.

Tried to doze on the way home but didn't succeed.

I'm still sick with this damned cold.  Stuffed up nose so haven't been able to breathe in days.  I didn't feel like doing *anything* when I got home.  So *blip* there goes another weekend with nothing achieved at home :(  (I did manage to look at and geotag day 22 of the holiday though, so I guess that's *something*).

Had a pretty quiet weekend (the best kind really).

Spent Saturday doing photo sorting and house work type stuff. Went down to vote about 4:30pm but there were queues :(  First time I've voted that late and had to queue.  Sad times.  Don't know if the school was doing them earlier or not, but never did get a #democracysausage.

Saturday night we went to Mishi's for a games night.  Sadly Damien and Amanda couldn't make it due to sickness.  Ate and chatted for a while, played a few games of Pirate Fluxx (I think I won one game) and had a relatively early night.

Today was mostly photo stuff, a bit of jigsawing, food shopping etc.  I wish I was one of the lucky ones retiring so I could do all the housey stuff that never seems to get done due to lack of time :(

Had a fairly decent weekend last weekend.  Got quite a few things done on the todo list, including renewing my domain names (kazza.id.au has been in existence for fourteen years today!), vacuuming and cleaning out the pool, washing the sheets, installing windows 10 on my little laptop (and the GPS software still works hurrah!), cleaning the kitchen, some fish tank work, food shopping and cooking.  Didn't do the house vacuuming though.

In between we had our work ball, which I'll get some photos online for eventually.

This week was a very strange week.  We had several farewell events for the Chrises including a long lunch on Wednesday.  Gonna miss them.  It also seems certain that we will lose literally the best bar in Canberra.  And our carpark.  All very depressing.  Got some work done in between, although wasn't terribly motivated.

I also got grumpy this week at Insight Vacations who have been ignoring my emails.  And at myself for not registering for the last Ingress Anomoly - which means the hundreds of jarvises, adas, cubes, bursters etc that I donated to the cause will have been for nothing :(

Our pool froze over twice during the week.  And yesterday the power tripped early in the morning which means the fish tank heaters didn't work all day, and we lost some fish in the smallest tank :(

Have been spending mornings scanning mum's photos.  Two weeks to scan each album, give or take.  So one down this morning, four more to go until the next swap-meet when I can get some more.

And I have this odd sort of feeling that I'm coming down with something.

Friday night mum came down from Sydney.  Chrissie and Zac came up and we all went out to the Dumpling Inn for dinner (slightly late on account of mum getting lost on account of road closures on account of accidents).  Had shallot cakes, crispy skin duck with pancakes, garlic prawns, xiao long bao and mixed chow mein.  All very nice.

Saturday morning we hopped in mum's car and headed down to Junee, arriving around lunch time.  The others watched some taped Home and Away while I finished up the holiday finances to figure out how much I owed mum.  Then mum, David and I played a game of canasta.  I got off to a good start, but David caught up and won.  Then we channel surfed Foxtel and ended up watching Under Seige 2.

For dinner we headed out to the Junee Golf Club.  Very strange venue.  I had to keep reminding myself it's a small country town.  Eftpos is that new fandangled thing didn't you know?  At least they took credit card when ordering food, if not at the bar.  Also had a cake for mum's birthday.

Cheesy goodness

Mum

Then back to the house where mum dozed through Arctic Tale and Ice Road Truckers in India.  I half watched and half did jigsaws on Kat's ipad.

This morning we headed home.  Cloudy morning, but no rain, so actually a very pleasant drive, otherwise we'd have been headed straight into the sun.  Got home, then mum continued on home as well.

This afternoon I went food shopping, then came home and cooked all afternoon.  Cooked a roast pork for dinner with lots of roast veggies, then a "breakfast lasagna" from a recipe Lachie gave me.  Stu's brain has been suffering from processed flour the past couple of days so we really want to try again to cut out the processed sugar and flour.  This recipe of Lachie's is about 150% fat though, so it really goes against everything I consider to be "healthy".  Maybe just a very small portion with some tomatoes for fibre?  I could easily have halved the recipe I think, as it did two baking dishes full of food.  The pork roast for dinner was nice too.  Watched some Homeland, did a day's worth of photo processing, and suddenly it's 9:45pm.  Weekend?  What weekend?  I think I completely missed out this week :(:(:(
