So Friday night after the hot water dramas, headed out with Kit and Serena for a couple of drinks at the George.  Then came home and had a nice early night.

Saturday spent pretty much the whole day alternating between Nonogram puzzles and housework.  Tidied the spare room, the bedroom, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, vacuumed half the house, washed some sheets.  I think that was all.  Then Potty and Jake arrived so chilled out with them for the rest of the arvo.  Cooked a lamb roast for dinner.

Today we had a fairly lazy start to the day.  I might have gotten more stuff done in the afternoon, but I started feeling fuzzy like I'm coming down with something.  This time there's a bit of a cough as well.  *sigh*  So really didn't get anything much done today :(  The sweetie has been feeling pretty blah too - all weekend in fact.  Fun times.. not.. :(

Had a bit of a blah day today.  Too much *crap*.  So when the sweetie decided to come home early because he's been feeling crappy from the cold he has, I came too.  We watched some Veronica Mars and got pizza.  Yeah real healthy dinner there.  Hrmm.  Really must get some more veggies to go with all the leftover meat we still have in the house..

Other than that I watched more of dad's documentaries, did some paint by numbers, and watched Source Code.  Interesting movie but the ending just leaves you questions..

Been trying like to crazy to catch up with life, as well as trying to get through some of the stuff I really need to do in the next few weeks.  Not succeeding too well.

Friday we got to see Angry Anderson and he spent an hour telling us about his life and how it changed quite dramatically when his daughter was born.  It was funny and emotional, a really good talk.  He also looks *really good* for a 67 year old!

Yesterday the sweetie was still feeling pretty blah from whatever bug he picked up in Queensland, so we didn't go out to the club.  This was a relief for me as it gave me most of the day to do some cleaning and geotagging of holiday photos.

Had dinner at EffanC's which was nice, although C and Stu weren't too impressed with the episode of You Can't Do That On Television that we put on after dinner.  Me on the other hand was in full nostalgia mode - not having seen the show in something like twenty five years.  Stu also suffered through a game of Bananagram, which I won.

Today I went to the George Harcourt (for the first time ever in fact) for a birthday lunch for Steve.  Then we did our food shopping.

This afternoon was trying to organise stuff for the ball.

Dinner was lamb.  So much lamb.  Then catching up on rss feeds (I'm *months* behind :( ).

Can someone please stop the world, I need to get off for a moment....

Friday night we watched the Bourne Identity.

Saturday I had a fairly productive morning, then we headed out to the club for the afternoon/evening.  Didn't sleep too well - the mattress we have is pretty crap, so kept waking up with a sore spine.

Kranskies

Sunday afternoon we didn't really do much at all.  I did meet the new chickies.

And we did a *lot* of food shopping..

After dinner (of salmon) I went for a walk to hack some portals and make a field (which is surprisingly still there).  It was a very pleasant time of day to be walking, and there were flowers and the scent of jasmine in the air.  Lovely.

Last night we went to bed early, but I just lay there for hours, not getting to sleep til after midnight :(  So then I woke up at 6am *tired*.  Blah.

But still had a relatively productive day, so that was satisfying.

Climbing roses

Cooked a very evil chicken with cheese and bacon stuffing for dinner - yumm!

Then after dinner we went for a walk around Palmerville.  We also watched the first episode of The Code, which I kept getting distracted over all the Canberra been-theres.

On Good Friday we headed out to the club.  I left Stu to read stuff for uni, and went off to help hazard reduction.  That is, pulling dead branches into piles to be picked up later for transport to the fire.  Spent a couple of hours on Friday afternoon doing that.

With all the rain a few weeks ago, mushrooms have been sprouting up all over the place!

Friday night we played some Phase 10 (a commercialised version of "Frustration" we played in Queensland a couple of years ago) with A&J and had a relatively early night.

Saturday I burnt wood.  Piles and piles and piles of it.  This was at the end of the day.

Bonfire

Afterwards I had a refreshing dip in M&M's spa (I'm even claiming the last dip in the pool for the season after the morning's bonfiring)!

We didn't end up bonfiring at night, but I did make some meringues using some leftover egg whites..

Sunday we came home fairly early (Stu's uni work had been a bit of a disaster, as he had a sore throat for two days that turned into a pretty nasty cold).  I didn't do much at home, just pottered around and changed some passwords.

Monday was a pretty fail day.  Did pretty much nothing around the house or on my todo list .. ended up feeling completely blah, and we got pizza for dinner.

So Sunday morning I woke up early a few times but forced myself back to sleep.

Got up and did some testing, then went up to Sydney.

Orchids

Saw dad, took him out for chips and a milkshake then came home for leftover roast lamb.

Did some more cleaning of the workshop on Sunday and Monday nights, and put up the Christmas tree on Tuesday night.

I also moved a PVR into the study to digify the tv in there, and after establishing that an ancient set-top box remote didn't work, mum decided to buy a new tv for the kitchen.  So we set that up Wednesday night.

To go on top of the fridge, not live here!

Also Wednesday went to Yum Cha with @StuartCRyan and he brought along some colleagues so we could have more noms.  Lots of noms.  I didn't have dinner that night.

Then I came home.

Was completely immersed in the world of Harry until I chanced a look at my temperature guage on the Federal Highway around EPIC.  It was very high.  In the next kilometre or so it just kept rising.  Didn't think I'd make it home without it going off the scale, so pulled over and let the car cool down for a while.  Then gave it a drink and continued home without incident.  The radiator was only just recently replaced, so might be related to that, but I really really don't want to go back to Melba Motors.  But also only have a couple of weeks before I need it again for Sydney.  Blah.

Realised today it's almost December.  Where on earth did the year go??

Wednesday saw us at Windy's for dinner.  Nanette cooked a pretty awesome butterfly lamb, and an equally awesome almond praline cheesecake.  The lamb was demolished in short order (the remaining pieces below were also finished off) and the cheesecake made a great morning tea the next day.

Thursday I started feeling a bit off colour and by the afternoon was definitely feeling wrong.  Struggled through the two beers of the week then went home feeling pretty miserable.  Watched Annie on dvd before collapsing into bed but being very uncomfortable.  Friday was also a bit blah - the bowels still weren't happy with me.

Friday night after work I met Stu out at the club.  We had the place to ourselves which was pretty nice.  I started reading a book and finished it Saturday morning.  Also started a jigsaw and had a swim before we came home.

Last night we got pizza and watched Star Trek and played Diablo and did jigsaws while I generally stressed about having to go to Sydney.

Fiona Week

I've barely spent any time at my computer this week.  News feeds are way behind.  Blogging is way behind.  Photo sorting is way behind.

Saturday night we all went to a games night at Mishi's.  We played Geek Battle, which our team won, then 80s Trivial Pursuit, which Damien and Amanda won.  I'd gotten 80s Trivial Pursuit some years back from somewhere or other, played it once and not really liked it (I was only a kid in the 80s, so didn't have much concept of news, sport, and even music for pretty much the whole first half).  We gave it to Nat and Andrew, but they eventually returned it, considering they weren't even born until 1983 ;)  So when Amanda said they wanted it a while back, I wholeheartedly passed it on :)

Sunday morning Fiona went out, and the sweetie and I had brunch at Black Pepper and did our food shopping.  I continued to enjoy a full weekend at home and got a bit more of the house tidied.

Sunday night we did a roast pork, although I failed somewhat on the crackling.

Standard working week, although have been on call, and have had alerts wake me up Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday ... blah :(

Sad

Dad moved into a nursing home today.

He's hating it.

To be honest I wasn't that impressed either.  At Calvary he had a wonderful view of the city and the planes, and a room to himself.  There was just nothing going on there to keep him entertained.  At this new place he's stuck in a room with a partly deaf guy who's basically just a zombie watching the television very loudly and hasn't talked to dad at all.  It was super hard for us to talk to dad because the tv was blaring and there was another person *right there*.  Dad was totally pissed off at the world - feeling like the doctors didn't want to talk to him, just a quickie conversation then off again, and complained that the food was cold etc.  Basically no matter what things were like he was going to be negative about it.

So that put me in a blah mood, and really upset mum.

Sigh.

Junee

On Friday night I came home feeling a bit depressed because instead of being able to relax I had to do housework, because I have no other night to do it :/

Saturday morning I went the opposite direction to my usual weekend drive - this time to Junee to visit the little brother. I asked Google Maps where to go, and it sent me off the Hume at Jugiong and up to Cootamundra.  It was a nice drive, although the roads weren't the best.  And canola sure is yellow.

David's house is very nice.  But smaller than their place at Picton, which could make things .. *interesting* to try and fit it all in.

We rearranged some furniture and I sorted out his blurays and put them in a cupboard, and just hung out.  Watched the election coverage until we got too depressed, then watched Deathly Hallows on tv.

I woke up at 6:20 as per usual and couldn't get back to sleep.  Hung out doing puzzles on the lounge room floor (no lounges yet).

Just before lunch went and looked at one of Junee's tourist attractions - the licorice and chocolate factory.  But we were (David was! ;) ) running late so didn't get much of a look.  Got some white chocolate rocky road (although almost didn't because the service was pretty slow and we were late for lunch).

Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory

Then to lunch at the Junee Hotel for their $10 Sunday roast - pork - yum!  Didn't need dinner (I might have had a couple of slices of bacon, shh don't tell anyone).

David went off to work, and I came home.

Felt a bit lost when I got home.  Tired and feeling like I really need a whole weekend at home.  Was feeling pretty blah tonight (it's Sunday after all), so Stu suggested putting on some music.  So I put on some John Williams, because that always cheers me up.  Used the hour to get my blog more or less up to date.
