Sunday.  26th.  Lit our anniversary candle and we had Chong Co delivered.

Anniversary candle

Had a couple of snackages from them as well (not pictured)

Chong Co anniversary dinner

This cracked me up - the neighbours had setup a fire pit and they'd taken a tv out side to watch tv by the fire..

Neighbours outdoor tv party

Then we watched Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birdwatching. Uh oh, a two hour documentary on birdwatching? Well it was actually really good, and very funny. Very well done. I reckon even better than the Hollywood Big Year movie.  Worth the time!

Monday.  Slept ok until 4:30 then awake.

Chrysanthemums

Quiet day of house stuff and photo stuff and dotz. Stu fried up more leftover sausages from the Christmas party and we had them with some leftover veggies. Death in Paradise 15.2.

Tuesday.  Slept okish but awake from 5:30. 30 years since the Port Arthur massacre, and 30 years since Como Presbyterian Church reopened after the 1994 bushfires. Crap day achieving pretty much nothing.

We had a mini team lunch at Bombay Duck.  I had butter chicken which was very nice.

Leftover Chong Co for dinner, Death in Paradise 15.3 (yeah maybe, like, test everyone for GSR), then going into battle with eBay again. Tonight they'd changed all of their postage options from last week. Utterly ridiculous. This time "letter" was an option though. Just not a small package. The smallest package option was "up to 3kg". Anything in between you have to use "satchel", but what the hell does that mean? The smallest is 40x20x15cm .. can I still use a box for that?? WTF?? Also last week's set didn't sell. But disturbingly at one point during the week there were two views on it. By the end of the week there were none. Are they like deliberately hiding the listing unless you choose to pay extra to "promote your listing"?? I wouldn't put it past them. ebay is evil. One of the worst companies in the world. Got Tony to search for it. It came up ok so there's that.

Wednesday.  Super restless sleep.

Chrysanthemums

Chaotic day. I have a task I really want to get done but I can't because I keep having to go to BS meetings or people keep asking me questions. It's getting crunch time and I'm getting more and more stressed about it. Just fricken leave me alone to do my work!!! Leftovers for dinner then Death in Paradise 15.4.

Thursday.  Took ages to get to sleep and awake early. Another crazy busy day. Fairly quiet drinks. Pizzas and garlic bread for dinner.

Pizzas and garlic bread

Death in Paradise 15.5. Like, no physical evidence at all, just conjecture.  How would that even get to trial?

Friday.  Mayday! Not great sleep. Spent most of the day working through all the scenarios of the proxies with AWS. I have like ten or fifteen use cases to figure out. We also had the tree dudes out to chop back the ivy, photinia and pittosporum.

Carnage!  I really liked having the ivy on this wall as it offered some sun protection, but I couldn't manage it because it just got too high and we don't have a ladder long enough.
Ivy carnage

Kievs for dinner then Death in Paradise 15.6. Then watched Matilda which I haven't seen in probably 20 years (and last read the book in 2009).

Kievs and gems

Saturday.  Slept okish. But cranky with the world all day. Headed out to the club via Queanbeyan.

Air Force 001

Stu went into Coles to shop for the bbq, and I went to return the frames I got from Homebase the other week.  Turns out Homebase Queanbeyan is dodgy as hell.  The frames I got the other week were meant to be 40cm x 50cm.  Except they weren't.  They were 38cm x 48cm - way too small for what I needed them for.  You'd think it would be a simple matter to return them, since were literally not what was on the label.  But noooo Homebase Queanbeyan tried to pull some BS "store policy" crap even though the product was clearly not what was on the label.  They said it was "more than seven days" so they have a no returns policy.  Well, I pretty much had to go full-on Karen on them and they begrudgingly gave me a store credit valid for three months.  Not really what I wanted, as I really never want to set foot in that store ever again.  DO NOT SHOP AT HOMEBASE QUEANBEYAN - they will try to rip you off!!  I told Stu about it after, and he agreed that Australian consumer laws override store policy in the case of products not matching descriptions.

Made it out to the club and Stu cooked up sausages for lunch while Dominic and I raked and carted leaves off the tennis court.

Stu cooking sausages

After lunch a half dozen or so of us raked and carted leaves off a big chunk of land below the toilets.  Pretty impressive effort actually.  Was aching by the end of it - sore back and ankles in so much pain I could hardly walk.

Got home and had a shower and washed my hair (again) and the sweetie got Crust pizzas for dinner.  I may have almost had a meltdown when I was too weak to open a bottle of Henkell...  It really was that kind of day..

Crust truffle beef rossini pizza

Peking Duck pizza.  This was great until I hit a landmine of really hot chilli chunks

Watched Okja which has been on my Netflix to watch list for years.  It was.. interesting..

Sunday.  Slept like crap - took ages to get to sleep (upset and stressed) and woke up at like 4:20 for ages. Quiet day of photo stuff.

Apparently this is a plume moth.. who knew?  Found it on one of the walls this afternoon
Plume moth

Sunday.  19th April.  Leftover curry for dinner then Professor T 4.3. Then I continued watching a Disney series The 90s Greatest, which has been a bit lame but a bit of memories. What was freaky is the second last episode looked at the Waco seige and the Oklahoma City bombing.. both 19th April.. woah!!!

Monday.  Slept okish I think. Was looking at ways to download the URL categories for our new proxies.  They literally don't have a way to do it.  They just say, oh use this third party python script that someone has written to call the APIs yourself.  Lame.  Then I found they'd upgraded our version of Postman to a cloud version which forces you to create an account on their cloud and sign in to use most features.  Except we block that because it's a massive security risk to, you know, save your passwords in clear text on remote servers.  Not to mention that by upgrading they blatted all my collections which filled me with all kinds of rage.  Then I got home and found the Chinese ebayer I bought a lens cap with a string off, sold a plain cap with no string.  Like how hard is it??   Filled with rage at that too.  Later she partially refunded me (it was only like $5 to start with) since it didn't match the photo.  It does seem to be a genuine Canon lens cap too, although can you believe "Made in Japan" printed on it if it came from China?  Stu cooked up some broccolini in a nice sauce and we had that leftover sausages from the Christmas party, which was very nice.  Then Professor T 4.4.

Broccolini and sausages

Took ages to get to sleep, woke up early, and Stu was SICK in the middle of the night! He never gets sick (almost never). He was feeling slightly nauseous before dinner. No idea what set him off. Fighting with the new proxies all day. Trying to get my head around their dumbness. Although did find one super useful feature in their URL categories (which is utterly needed to do the daftness of how their URL categories actually work) - it lets you find other places that has a wildcard (because you need to add an explicit URL to the wildcard category, otherwise it won't be included in the wildcard.  Don't even get me started on that trash). Cooked up some brussels sprouts, capsicum and potato gems for dinner.

Potato gems and veggies

Professor T 4.5. OMFG I hate ebay so much. I've been needing to sell some of Vic's Lego, but ebay make it as painful as they possibly can. They don't *do* letters, so even though I can fit stuff in a large letter box (<2 cm thick) if you try and choose that it blanks out what the local postage will be and only shows you international (at $13-$30). So you choose regular package which is like $7-$9 which isn't toooo bad considering it has tracking, but they don't give you any provision to charge for packaging (the box cost me like ~$1). And then they will charge like 13% FEE on POSTAGE, which is money they literally steal out of your profit. But if you don't jump through eBay's hoops (and include tracking) then you're at the mercy of the buyer whether they'll just lie and say the package didn't turn up, and ebay will literally take your money back off you. Then you have to go to Australia Post and argue with them to try and get a refund which they'll only do up to $100 unless you buy insurance. It's the most stressful thing ever. I hate it. I really really wish there was a better alternative to ebay. And don't even get me started on Windoze 11. If I'm on another desktop and click to open windows explorer, it takes me to ANOTHER DESKTOP ENTIRELY!!! Same with Notepad. Double click on a text file on one desktop, and it opens notepad ON ANOTHER DESKTOP!! How is it that windows is STILL SO BAD???

Wednesday.  Slept mostly okish I think. Didn't get much done all morning - too many meetings. Tried out Gianni's with Neil at lunch and had their lunch special. Managed to get something working on the new proxies that I'd been fighting with. Turns out someone else just hadn't done their job properly and my stuff worked once it was fixed. Sigh. Leftover Japanese curry for dinner (we're almost through it!), then Professor T 4.6 (end of season 4).

Thursday.  Took a while to get to sleep but okish sleep after that. Lots of doing doco today and testing the new proxies. Quiet drinks, only one other table. Made pizzas and garlic bread for dinner and watched Death in Paradise 15.1 since Professor T season 5 isn't on Prime yet.

Pizzas and garlic bread

Friday.  Restless sleep. Distracted morning. For lunch we went to Bentspoke to celebrate Neil having worked there 50 years!! It was actually last year that the anniversary came around, but he was recovering from knee surgery so it got put off. Lovely afternoon and around twenty people came.

Saturday.  Anzac Day.  Went to bed as soon as I got home last night, okish sleep, considering. Nice quiet day just doing house stuff and photo stuff.

I may have made some Anzac biscuits.  These were a lot drier than last time (I measured everything properly for a change) so they held their shape a lot better (the last ones melted everywhere).

Anzac biscuits

Kievs and gems for dinner (since we missed out last night) and then watched Amelia which was somewhat interesting.

Kievs and gems

Sunday.  Mostly ok sleep but awake super early (half an hour earlier than normal) to go out to Mulligan's Flat for a bird walk of sorts. I've never actually been out there. Didn't see a huge number of birds (we were really just scoping out the place and went for a walk round the dam) but there was a little flock of red-rumped parrots having a bath which was pretty cool. Then we went to Cafè Luzon, a Filipino inspired cafe for brunch. I had the eggs benedikto which was quite nice although the spinach left that weird spinach feeling in my mouth long after. Then just a quiet day, and did some dotz and some music.

We may or may not have Chong Co coming for dinner... :)

Sunday.  15th.  Leftover Peking duck for dinner (Stu had the last of the Turkish) then MacGyver. I tried to watch the end of Airport on my computer but my computer wouldn't read the disc.. probably stoopid Macrovision trash. What's the point of trash like that if it PREVENTS LEGITIMATE USERS WATCHING YOUR MEDIA!?!?!? Edit: a quick Google suggests Windows 11 removed the ability to play Macrovision DVDs.. yet another reason why Windows 11 is a piece of trash. Although I'm not convinced that's the full story - the player won't even recognise the disc and kind of just "clicks of death" with it. Sigh. Anyway so had to finish watching it on the DVD player (which very nicely remembered where we were up to even though it had been turned on and off a couple of time and had MacGyver DVDs in there in between).

Monday.  Awake from 4am til like 5:30am then had some convoluted dream about catching buses around Jannali with a heap of crap and running late for work. Another thing that pisses me off about Windows 11.. if I have too many windows open and the tray fills up, it'll hide some tray items. But not just the ones off the end, an entire application's worth. So my task bar is literally 2/5ths blank. How is this in any way useful for people??? Felt like I didn't achieve much all day, just lots of fluff and waiting for people to answer my questions. Leftovers for dinner then MacGyver and achieved pretty much nothing with my evening. Although I did watch Dad's funeral slide show (which was 12 years ago yesterday) and tried to get the timing working properly in LibreOffice.

Tuesday.  Slept mostly okish. Spent much of the day working on the last of the migrations to new load balancers. We cooked a slow cooker pork neck and a bunch of veggies for dinner. Delicious!

Pulled pork neck

Green veggies

MacGyver then spent entirely too much time geotagging Mum's photos of South Australia in 1969.  I didn't find the location of the Beachport YHA that Mum and Marita stayed at, but a couple of days later I found it literally right there in my Google image search - it's the former Harbour Master's house and is now an AirBnB.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly okish. Disjointed morning but got stuck into some new proxy crap in the afternoon.

Carnage...

The sweetie cooked up some creamy mushroom chicken for dinner which was very nice. MacGyver then achieved very little.

Thursday.  Lights out 22:00. Sleep maybe 01:00 or 02:00. Sigh. Zombie day. Went through a URL block list to see what still needed to be blocked. Pretty good drinks. Someone else tried to take over our table but we pushed back haha. Made pizzas for dinner (pepperoni and feta, tomato and blue cheese, and mushroom, olive and capers).

Pizzas

Then tried to watch MacGyver but my old $50 DVD/BluRay player decided it didn't want to play. The first time it came up with audio but no video. Then it wouldn't power off. Then no audio or video at all. So now we have nothing in the house that will play blurays. Watched some Simpsons instead.

Friday.  I shouldn't look at things. When I look at things I find problems that I want to fix. So I spent much of the day checking doco on a bunch of URL categories and coming up with a plan to tidy them up. Went and had drinks with T/J which was nice.  Definitely a lovely way to spend a Friday evening after work. Kievs for dinner then I watched Freakier Friday set 22 years after the previous one. That was a bit of fun but more confusing because four of them swapped around making it harder to remember who was who.

Kievs and cauliflower

Saturday.  Awake from 3:00 hurray.

I caught this little guy Friday night and evicted it Saturday morning.  So fricken cute!
Gecko

Geraniums

Day of housework and Lego filing but did also do some music practise. Stu was out at the club most of the day so he was exhausted when he got home and it was a Dumpling Inn delivery kind of a night.

Dumpling Inn delivery

Then we watched Saving Mr Banks which I'd seen in 2022 but Stu hadn't seen.

Sunday.  Awake from 4:00 hurray. Lenovo wants to install a bios update. Windoze wants to spend 20 minutes to an hour doing a "bigger than normal" update. hrmmmm. I let Windows do the update later in the morning, it took maybe 3/4 hour. Otherwise just lots of getting organised with life. Even did some Europe 2016 panoramas.  This week both Windoze *and* Chrome have forgotten my folder settings.  Sigh.

Sunday.  4th.  Managed to get the end of last year's photos posted before a storm came through that was a little too close so I shut down my computer (and it BSODed as I was doing it #grunt). Then had to sit around doing nothing much for an hour because my dotz were packed up, Lego was done, jigsaws were all done. So I did some kitchen stuff. Hurray. Dinner was nachos. We are going to get healthy soon, I promise.. haha.

Nachos

Watched the Death in Paradise 2025 Christmas special. Then I went to bed. 20:30 is bed time right? Weird going to bed while it's still light though.

Monday.  Slept fairly well. Back at work full time. Sigh. Went back to some decommissioning tickets that have been banking up for the past few months. Went into work at lunch to drop off most of the Christmas party stuffs, then had lunch with Neil at Kingsley's (the mall is feral over the school holidays). Finished the leftover tuna bake for dinner then watched Beyond Paradise 2.1.

Tuesday.  Went to bed at normal time but then didn't get to sleep for HOURS. Sigh. And awake from well before 6 again. Zombie day. Again. Was putting away more Christmas decorations and couldn't find a string of fairy lights. I remember taking them off the lounge where they were, but now I can't find them to put them away. Sigh. Edit: found them, I was confusing them with another string/box. This is what happens when your brain is zombie tired. Lots more decom prep work today. Even did a bit of playing with Powershell/APIs. Dug out some sausages leftover from the Christmas party to have for dinner with some very old pork jelly and very old sauces. One of them might give us food poisoning, we shall see. Beyond Paradise 2.2.

Leftover sausages

Wednesday.  Slept okish. Disjointed day at work.

We may have gone to Grease Monkey at lunch.  That's like three times in like a month.. whoops..
Grease Monkey Motor City pizza

More Christmas party sausages for dinner and Beyond Paradise 2.3.

Thursday.  Spent most of the day deleting stuff which was nice, trying to clear out a backlog of decommissions going back til last September. Drinks at the Labor Club, Dominos for dinner then Beyond Paradise 2.4.

The 8th of January is always the day I remember the Como-Jannali bushfires (32 years ago), my blogiversary (23 years this year!!) and David Bowie's birthday (he would have been 79).  This year smoke from the Victorian bushfires made for a very red sunrise and sunset...

Friday.

Fairy lights

Didn't achieve much in the morning but did some more deletions in the afternoon and some certificate replacements as well. It's been stoopidly hot this week (37C today), and yet we still turned the oven on for #kievfridays. Whoops.

Kiev and fries

Saturday.  Slept okish I think. Spent pretty much the whole day cleaning the house and cooking. hrmm. Had EffanC over for cheese and champagne and dinner. The lasagna ended up being a bit overdone as noone was really ready for dinner when it was ready, so turned the oven down and let it sit for longer. Still fairly good though. A lovely catchup.

I forgot to get a photo before cutting it up
Lasagna

Sunday.  Fairly late night but of course I still woke up at 6:00. Filled the green bin in the morning and did some house stuff and spent entirely way too much time geotagging Dad's photos of Kangaroo Island.

Found this on the weekend too! WTF!?

Still not ready for being back at work full time...

How cute is this?  T/J got this for me.  It has the same mechanism as a 3D printed one we have at work.

Sunday.  25th.  Leftover Chong Co for dinner. DS9 3.21 then continued watching the How to Change Your Mind documentary on psylocibin.

Monday.  Slept mostly okish.  Quiet day.  Stoopidly put washing outside because it was sunny. Had to rescue it like half an hour later because it was about to rain. Well the sweetie did, he's been looking after me. Cold and wet and miserable, and no working heater hurray.

11.6

The tomato plant this was on died from the cold before its only fruit ever ripened..

In the evening there was like one single bolt of lightning nearby but nothing else. Stu cooked some leftover chicken with miso and broccolini which was very nice.

Miso chicken and broccolini

DS9 3.22 then the doco on MDMA.

Tuesday.  Okish sleep.  Quiet day.  Managed to get the heater going so didn't touch the controls all day.  Stu cooked up some creamy mushrooms with fake fettucini which was very nice.

Mushroom fettucini

DS9 3.23 then the last part of the documentary on mescalin.  Too scared that if we touched the heater controls it wouldn't work again, so left it running all night.  Hate doing that, scared we'll either get carbon monoxide poisoning in our sleep or the place will burn down.

Wednesday.  Okish sleep.  Heater still working.  Quiet day.  Did get out for a short walk with Tony which was nice.

Orange flowers

Found this photo while filing photos which I thought was pretty cool

DS9 3.24.

Thursday.  20 years since I met the sweetie!  Quiet day.  Lots of photo filing this week, so felt the need to backup my computer so I wouldn't have to redo all that work if something happened to the drive.  DS9 3.25.

Friday.  Turned off the heater to go out.  Miraculously it didn't lose power and we were able to restart it.  Cooked up some mince with tomato/tomato paste/cheese/veggie rice for dinner.

Gradient

DS9 3.26 then part 2 of Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War.

Saturday.  Quiet day.  Started a jigsaw. Filed lots of photos. Kievs for dinner. DS9 4.1/2

Kievs and cauliflower bake

Sunday.  Woke my computer up from sleep and got an instant BSOD.  #grunt.  It did that the other week too hrmmm.  Finished the jigsaw.  Filed lots of photos.

Sunday.  27th.  Leftovers for dinner then Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I still don't like how they explain how he's the half blood prince in the movie. Not that the book was a whole lot better - it was just a line, but at least it had that line.

Monday.  28th.  Remembering Alan's first heart attack, Como Presbyterian Church reopening after the 1994 bushfires, and the Port Arthur Massacre. Slept okish - restless and thermoregulation issues. My computer crashed last night #grunt and it wasn't even for patching this time. Managed to lose another hair tie overnight. Like how does that even happen, I've only been in like three rooms since last night. While searching I did find one I lost a couple of months ago. Hurray. Busy day. The sweetie cooked creamy mushroom fake noodles which was quite nice. DS9 3.4. Looked more into ways to disable Optus while overseas, including setting a SIM PIN, and locking the phone to Optus manually (but that causes a battery hit apparently). Also realised that my iPhone 5 is really a brick now on Optus since they shut down 3G, which is why it won't connect anymore. Spent entirely too much time stressing over Optus being such a ripoff.

Tuesday.  Slept mostly ok I think. Busy day. Lunch with the sweetie. Bought some light tshirts (all my tshirts are dark, which is no good for Greece or Dubai in summer). Lots of rain FINALLY and even some thunderbolts and lightning. The sweetie cooked some nice mince for dinner (well I cooked the mince the other weekend, but he added nicely to it). DS9 3.5 then holiday planning.

The sweetie cooking mince

Wednesday.  Took forever to get to sleep - restless legs for ages. Tried to turn the heater on. But the control panel was dead. So Stu went to reboot it. The panel turned all the led things on. But then turned off. Then started flickering on and off. So he rebooted it again (leaving it off longer). It came up for a few seconds normally.. but then started flickering again. Sigh. So leaving it off for longer this time.

All on!
Heater LEDs

Did put a jumper on for third time this year. KFC for dinner, DS9 3.6, early night.

Thursday.  Took a while to get to sleep (cold!) but mostly slept ok. 12.7C in the study in the morning!! eep!! Achieved pretty much nothing all day. Super quiet drinks. Blue cheese pizzas for dinner. DS9 3.7. Early night.

Blue cheese pizzas

Friday.  Got to sleep ok, but then awake from like 1-4. Sigh. The heater worked briefly in the morning then died. Nice warm day though so the house wasn't too crazy. Stu rebooted the heater again and it worked for a few minutes then died again. Sigh. Emailed Travis about recommendations for a split system but he hasn't mailed me back. The sweetie cooked up a cauliflower bake and brussels sprouts with kievs for dinner.

Kievs and veggies

DS9 3.8 which was pretty silly. Then another episode of an anime series of some Japanese travel blogger. Continued frustration with the heater which might work for a minute or two then just die. Sigh. The house is cold. Sigh.

Saturday.  Awake from like 3 or 4 and never got back to sleep. Sigh.

Another ripe mini capsicum!!
Mini capsicums

Super busy day. Attacked the todo list (mostly) in the order it happened to be in FreeMind. Chong Co for dinner then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. Finished just in time to see Dutton's concession speech.

Sunday.  Slept somewhat better. More ploughing through the todo list. Moved ten young guppies to the tank downstairs which has been empty for a while and desperately needing new fish, and four to the four foot (it definitely needs a lot more guppies). Need to get a few new guppies with different genetics though.

I doubt I'll get to eat this tomato..
Green tomato

Remember how much I was complaining about windoze resetting the folder views every time I went to use them?  Well the last week or two it's been a lot better - my in tray folder of photos for blogging has maintained my view settings.  This makes me happy.  I guess enough other people complained about it.

It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours with the sweetie!

Monday.  21st.  Did I mention I'm doing low carb again for another few weeks? Except the day got off to a rocky start because I'd forgotten about an apple that needed eating. There goes my carb limit for the day.. whoops. The sweetie prepped a cauliflower bake and brussels sprouts for dinner and I chucked a chunk of beef in to go with it. I got my blogging done quite early. Funny how writing up notes properly during the week makes blogging a lot quicker on a Sunday.. or Monday in this case. DS9 2.24.

Roast beef and veggies

Tuesday.  Awake from Dentist Time for hours and only broken sleep after that. Sigh. NEIL at work, as well as trying to figure out the API of our IP management system to help someone with something. Leftovers for dinner, DS9 2.25. After dinner started going through Dad's photos (from when he switched from slides to prints and onwards) to get photos of Mum. Annoyingly Dad had a really bad habit of over-enhancing his photos. At least with the prints I can go back and rescan them, but for digital photos once they're enhanced at all they're destroyed because he didn't keep the originals. Which is odd in itself because he used to make backups upon backups upon backups, just not of the original unaltered files. #grunt.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly ok. Really wanted to get through some decom prep but the interruptions Would. Not. Stop. All. Day. So damned hard to concentrate with Teams and Outlook popping up every five seconds. Seriously considering turning all notifications off. The sweetie cooked creamy mushroom chicken for dinner which was very nice.

Creamy mushroom chicken

DS9 2.26. Then more photo picking. From 2010 and some of 2011 Dad saved the raw camera photos off separately to the enhanced photos. That was nice of him. Maybe there were other copies of the rest of his digital camera photos elsewhere that either he or I lost. More likely him. I spent an entire week one Christmas trying to sort it all out, and would definitely have kept any raw photos if I'd found them. Knowing him he probably made several backups, thought he had a backup, didn't in fact have a backup, and deleted the original. Or maybe he just never thought he'd need his originals. Silly Dad.

Thursday.  Slept okish until about 5:00. Mostly decom work at work. Bar 59 for drinks which was quite pleasant, although a lot more expensive than work drinks! Made pizzas then DS9 3.1.

Friday.  Anzac Day.  Lest we forget.  Awake from 1:45 for hours sigh.

Mt Rogers

House stuff mostly in the morning. Happy that Stumpy is basking more and is more enthusiastic about food.  Did some camera testing in the afternoon. Only to realise later I had it on the wrong mode. Sigh.

I need to find a spot to plant out these chrysanthemums.  I accidentally uprooted one of the ones out the front the other month and chucked it in a pot out the back.  They're now happily flowering while the ones out the front are barely hanging on to life.  These things like a lot of sun but our garden is completely hopeless so not sure where I can put them.

Chrysanthemums

Kievs for dinner.  With half a cauliflower and most of a capsicum.

Kievs and veggies

DS9 3.2. Then watched Blackberry which made us both a little nostalgic. Also, it's Anzac Day but I've only worn a jumper like twice all year. Usually by now there would have been days where we'd be wanting to put the heater on in advance of the Anzac Day allowed starting date. Instead I had a window open in my room to cool it down so I could sleep.  hrmmm.

Saturday.  Slept mostly okish.

Sunrise

Cooked cheese kranskis and miso scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Although Stu just had eggs because he needed to only eat soft food to not break his temporary tooth crown again.

Started a jigsaw. Went for a several hour drive with the sweetie, checking out previous houses, family houses, the church we got married in etc. Was a lovely way to spend a few hours with the sweetie (and we drove like 70km!).

Made a small share platter for lunch (although I did get hungry later)

Finished the jigsaw. Got Chong Co delivered for dinner (after the MenuLog driver finally turned up) and watched DS9 3.3, then The Princess Bride :)

Sunday.  Awake from ~3:30 and never got back to sleep. Sigh.  They promised many millimetres of rain.  We got about three drops.

Went and saw Constellations at the NFSA with Tony which was a bit of fun. House stuff mostly for the rest of the day, and some food shopping.

When you realise you have 15 different cheeses in the fridge.. whoops...

Filled with rage in the afternoon at Optus who FORCE you to use international roaming because there's no way to disable it. Their only workaround is leave the phone on flight mode and use wifi. WTF??? I think I did read somewhere that if you have a second sim you can disable the Optus one. Which would work unless I needed to receive an SMS for two factor for anything. But there's a heap of horror stories out there from people getting charged the $5/day even when the sim wasn't even in the phone!!!

Hi.

Sunday.  19th.

Epic dandelion

Leftover lamb and veggies for dinner.  Death in Paradise 12.7.

Monday.  Took a little while to get to sleep then awake ~5:30.  The Access Canberra ticket I opened on 5 January is still "unassigned".  Fricken hopeless.  My trip from 16/1 is there in the history now though, but not the first two trips on the new system.

Tuesday.

Pink flowers

Did up a script to look for orphaned groups/objects.  Cooked up a tonne of veggies including some stuffed capsicums with some leftover cheesy mince.  Watched the Death in Paradise 2023 Christmas special.

Wednesday.  Took forever to get to sleep - restless - but then mostly slept ok.  Bits and pieces at work, mostly going through the output of the orphaned objects script for stuff to clean up.  Leftovers for dinner.  Death in Paradise 13.1.  Then went out to see if I could see the comet.  Rob and Lynne saw me from waayyyyyyy across the field and called to me, so we hung out for like half an hour waiting for it to get dark.

I'll chuck some comet photos in another post.

But here's one of a satellite.  Starlink cluttering up the sky?

Thursday.  Took a while to get to sleep.  Mostly decom prepping at work.  Drinks at Bar 59 again.  Pizzas again.  Death in Paradise 13.2.

Friday.  Decommission Day!  Deleting All The Things.  I love how much time my deleting scripts save me, not to mention saving me from RSI!!  Kievs for dinner.

Chicken kiev and potato

Death in Paradise 13.3.  Started watching the Netflix series Wednesday which we both really enjoyed.  Addams Family meets Hogwarts.  And *of course* it's Tim Burton and Danny Elfman.  Then went and had another look at the comet.

No roast tonight, just finishing up some leftovers.
