Saturday.
Unpacked 13lb of lego I got from Canada in the post this week. There's a couple of cool space sets, but the rest of it is just classic lego, not terribly interesting. Took over three months to get here by surface mail - yuk!

Then went out for Thai with J&G and a bunch of their friends (which is impressive in itself since neither of them will eat spicy food). Experienced the joys of going to places alone.. after being held up behind an accident for fifteen minutes, so was running late, then had to navigate as well and try to find out where I was actually trying to go to, then had to park right in front of everyone which meant I hit the curb - twice, and after all that couldn't drink because I was driving. Except then James offered to drive my car home for me, so I finally relaxed and enjoyed the night. Which went very late. Didn't get to bed til 2am - whoops.

Sunday.
Today after church (through the pouring rain) and a bit of a chat to Stu, I cursed undergravel filters, as I had to pull the entire tank apart to clean it. Pulled out the undergravel filters and am going to stick to power filters. This was after the second tiger barb died, probably due to fetid conditions in the tank.

And tonight I went to the parents with Dave & Yvonne for dinner. After dinner we played Scategories (which mum won) and Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, which is a heck of a lot harder than I thought it would be. We didn't use the dvd because mum was watching telly, so just did all the questions from the cards. I declared the game finished when Dave finally got all six wedgies (I had five). Think I need to watch the movies a few more times. And read the books. And watch any making of specials (one of the questions was what did they mix with glass beads to make fake snow for Hoth). Much fun to be had with that game methinks. And I kept getting annoyed at Dad & Dave getting easy questions all the time. Oh, and if in doubt answer "Obi-Wan Kenobi" - it's seriously the answer to half the questions in the game ;)

Fizzle

Drank probably too much last night.
But it was all good ;)
Good food, good wine, good company.

Although as a consequence I didn't sleep very well and really feeling it now heh
Think will go to bed soon - as soon as Stu goes
:)

A meme from Karla

Actually I saw this meme from Karla, thought I'd do it, noticed there was stuff missing from it, googled it for other versions, found more, and found the Chinese whispers effect that memes undergo. Another pleasant relaxing day. Slept in a bit, had breakfast, got ready, went shopping for food for lunch. Then went to a park and Scott and Kerry and Jake came up from Canberra and met us there. After lunch wandered back to Annie and Stu's and watched Finding Nemo (again). Then a siesta, then dinner, then spent the whole night doing a five way sudoku, and was making progress on it when I discovered I'd made a mistake with it and the entire thing was ruined. Grunties. Also watched an interesting doco on the Columbia disaster. And now it's time for bed :)

(The title of the book Stu is reading at the moment :) )

Mmmm my lovely holiday continues. Slept lat(ish), then had a relaxing morning doing not much, before heading up to Noosa! Took a while to figure out how to get into the hotel, which is on Hastings Street, but found it eventually round the back. Went and had a very late lunch at the foodcourt in the main street, wandered up and down the beach for a bit, before going back to the hotel for a swim. Had a bit of a siesta, then watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on cable. Then we went out for dinner - to Copenhagen ;) But heck, I'm on holidays, I can have ice cream for dinner if I want to, right? :)

Another title courtesy of Stu... Expect a few more like that ;)

Today was a thoroughly relaxing day. Lazed around all morning before heading out for a doctors appointment for Stu.

On the way back from the doctor we went up Mt Coot-tha to look at the view and get some daytime panorama photos. It was getting rather late at this point so we had lunch at the lookout - a very pleasant place to have lunch indeed.

We pottered around for a bit in the afternoon before going out food shopping, then back home to cook it and watch videos/dvds.

Feeling extremelly tired right about now, looking forward to sleeeeeeep.

Gosh this weekend has felt quite long. And not even 48 hours have passed.

Friday night was a CIA outing to Courtney's in Parramatta. Food was delicious and the service was excellent (we basically had the place to ourselves). Had quail and snapper and rich chocolate and wine and really ate far far far too much. It was a good night out, but trains really really suck at 11 at night, and it took two full hours to get home. Yay.

Saturday in between getting $100 cash back over three years from Energy Australia and having a powered smoke detector installed, I spent several hours chatting with Stu, which was fantabulous.

Went to the parents for a lamb roast on Saturday night. They of course started asking me about Stu, which was inevitable. My mum did say that even though they didn't get to know him very well last weekend, they trusted my judgement, which I thought was kinda nice. They also asked again *how* I used the internet to meet him, which I basically just didn't answer.. heh. I'd still rather they didn't read this. I guess one day they will find it and that'll be the end of that. Mum said she read one of my webpages .. I'm guessing it's my cia one, which I gave the address for at dinner last week, which doesn't have a link here. I didn't ask her *which* page she read, I didn't want to give her the idea there's more than one, so there's actually the slim chance she's already found this.

Plans for visiting Dave & Yvonne today fell through completely, so I thought I'd have a chance to talk to Stu some more, but he was planning to have Aurelius over, oh well. So thought I'd work on Project Declutter. Well was putting washing away and sun was streaming into my bedroom and it was all I could do to not just collapse into bed and have a siesta. Maybe I still will for a little bit...
