Sunday.  10th.  Epic roast beef for dinner.

Epic roast beef

DS9 5.24 then Cruella.

Monday.  Slept mostly ok.  Was both Neil and XL for the day.

Early cheers

Did more Europe photo labelling. At some point since I geotagged these photos nine years ago, Google has shifted the satellite imagery around, by like ten metres. So the pointer for photos is out of place compared to the images. Super annoying. Slow cooker lamb shanks for dinner yum yum yum.

Slow cooker lamb shanks

DS9 5.25. Silly episode. More Europe labelling - over a quarter of the way through it now. My eyes were tired much of the day, and irritation in my right eye from the afternoon until bed time sigh.

Tuesday.  Acts 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Don't forget us Gentiles :)

Slept okish. Lots of decom planning. Leftovers and veggies for dinner. DS9 5.26. More Europe labelling. Rinse and repeat with sore tired eyes and irritated right eye for much of the day. Sigh.

Early cheers

Wednesday.  Romans 3:22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood--to be received by faith.

Woke up at like 4:30.  Hurray.  Decom work and documenting settings on the new proxy system at work.

Experimented with mac and cheese at lunch.  This is just a bit of macaroni that I cooked then at the end mixed through some slices of plastic cheese I had in the freezer and a bit of milk.  I'll reserve judgement until I get my sense of taste back.

Mac and cheese experiment

Pizzas for dinner. Made three different ones this time - pepperoni, olive, and tomato and dill.  Stu assures me they were good.

Three pizzas

DS9 6.1. Finished labelling a day of photos then bed time. Hrmmm.

Thursday.  Did a script to see what groups are "member ofs" which, while they can mostly be seen in the GUI, it's buggy, so this is definitive.

Merry Christmas to me!!  Yum yum!!
Merry Christmas to me!

Had EffanC over for cheese and an epic Chong Co feast!  Thanks sweetie!!

There were Thai fish cakes, roti, crispy crab net rolls, tangy lemon squid, prik pao moo grob pork, wagyu beef salad, satay chicken, massaman curry and coconut rice.

Chong Co birthday dinner

Lovely evening.

Friday.  Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Slept like crap funnily enough. Added functionality to another script that's been annoying me since the old environment so that was super cool.  Now I can find rules where all the servers have disappeared. Slightly early finish. Kievs for dinner, DS9 6.2, early night.

Kievs and veggies

Saturday.  Slept somewhat better.  Cleaned the house, labelled some photos, did some jigsaw. Kit came over in the afternoon. They had pizza. I had leftover lamb and frozen veggies. Hurray.  Nice evening.

Sunday.  Slept like crap. Sigh. Hung out with Kit for a while and the sweetie cooked us some eggs for brunch. Then Kit wandered off. Felt pretty flat in the afternoon and didn't achieve much.

Google Image Search tells me this is a Packard Clipper....

Packard Clipper

Packard Clipper hood ornament

Sunday.  3rd.  It's going to be an eat the fridge and freezer week this week.  Starting with a cabbage bake (spiked with yellow curry paste) and some nice frozen fish fillets I got at Chris's a while back.  Then DS9 5.18.

Fish and cabbage bake

Monday.  Pretty distracted morning at work so didn't get much done.  Did a bit of cleaning planning in the afternoon.  Finished culling Europe 2016 photos for the blog!!  DS9 5.19.

Tuesday.  We changed the house battery mode to "save battery for power outages" yesterday so it didn't drain overnight, and instead kept the lights on (and my computer running) while sparkies a couple of houses down had the power off for their work for an hour or so.

Sparkies

Did some deleting which was nice, and some more networking stuff for Jim (that I missed last week cause I don't *do* layer 1/2 heh).  Also got a couple of scripts working which made me pretty happy.  Made up a potato bake for dinner to use up a bunch of things, then DS9 5.20.  Dumb episode.

Potato bake and fries

Wednesday.  Slept okish.  Tried to do an improvement on one of my scripts but it was too complicated and my perfectionism got in the way so ended up abandoning it for now.  Leftovers for dinner I think.  DS9 5.21.

Thursday.

Acts 26:22.. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen-- 23 that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles." .. spoken by Paul in Caesarea!!!  Been there!!

Awake stoopidly early.  Did some more decom planning.  Chris didn't have any pepperoni so I made olive and feta pizzas.  Stu tells me they were good.  I miss being able to to taste salt!!

Olive and feta pizzas

DS9 5.22 - somewhat interesting moral dilemma.  Then Europe photo labelling.

Friday.  Did some tidying of all the rules we've setup for the potential new load balancing solution.  May have had cheesy vegemite scrolls for lunch.

Cheesy vegemite scrolls

Then deleted a heap of stuff out of the old prod load balancing environment. Deleting crap on a Friday afternoon.. what could go wrong? ;)  Kievs and fries for dinner then DS9 5.23.

Kievs and fries

Saturday.  Woke up at like 4:30 or something #grunt.  House and hobbies kind of a day.  At one point I was trying to rename a folder in Windows Explorer and it just froze up.  I looked at Event Viewer and my heart sank when I saw a disk bad blocks error.  So now I have to figure out what I've done on my computer since my last good backup on Wednesday.  And wonder if I can trust that disk anymore.  So anyway, later on I was trying to find out what the hell disk was DR9.  OMFG.. rm9's comments.. THIS!!.. In the end used Winobj64.exe from Sysinternals to figure out it was actually a USB stick that I'd plugged in at the same time that had the error.  Phew!!!  I let the sweetie order a karaage chicken pizza for dinner.  Whoops.  Then we watched The Post.  I had literally no idea what it was about other than it stared Tom Hanks, and that I assumed it was about the Washington Post.  For some reason I also picked the music.  John Williams!  But definitely not in your face, quite subtle.  Stu wondered early on if it was about Daniel Ellsberg, which he was right about too.

Sunday.  Another house and hobbies day again.  Having a beer while I write this - first drink in over two weeks.  Sigh.

24-240

So I was never happy with the 24-105.  I mean, yes, it's a great lens - it's brilliant in low light and I've gotten some great people photos with it.  The problem is it's heavy and doesn't have the focal range that I'm used to.  So I bit the bullet and got a 24-240.  Reviews online were mixed - "Jack of all trades but master of none" as one review called it.  But in terms of pixels, it wins.  By a lot.

The big test is a repeat of the shots I took of Black Mountain Tower.

First up - the benchmark - my old 600D, 135mm (~200mm equivalent)

600D-135mm

Old 24-105 105mm (full zoom) vs new 24-240 ~105mm (~ half zoom) .. so old vs new at approx same magnification.. honestly.. there's barely any difference in quality

24-105-105mm 24-240-105mm

And finally the 24-240 at 240mm (full zoom) .. ok yes it's a little wibbly (it's 8.47km away!) .. but far out.. this blows everything else out of the water!

24-240-240mm

And from those same photos here's UC.. again raw pixels.

The 600D at full zoom

600D-135mm

The 24-105 at full zoom

24-105-105mm

The 24-240 at ~105mm

24-240-105mm

24-240 at 240mm.  I wonder how much of the wibbliness is actually air distortion.. we're talking a distance of 4.3km as the crow flies.

24-240-240mm

Here's a few more

Only 87mm on this, but relatively low light

24-240-titanic

This was 240mm from across the room, with the same not great lighting.. it did pretty well!

24-240-notredame

And most importantly .. can it do full zoom macros?

Why yes, yes it can..  240mm here

24-240-parsley

And here

24-240-grevillea

Cropped closer, not bad!

24-240-grevillea

240mm dandelion

24-240-dandelion

Same, raw pixels.. it's actually pretty sharp

24-240-dandelion

I did find I couldn't get as close to things and still be able to focus.. but what you lose in closeness you gain in zoomage..

24-240-rosemary

So yeah.. pretty happy.  This will likely be the lens I cart around most of the time, and certainly when travelling.  The other one will likely get used for people photos and things like museums and other specific indoor photography.

Sunday.  29th.  Dinner was leftovers I brought home from the club. DS9 4.18 then Lego Masters 7.9.

Monday.  Early night, but took ages to get to sleep then woke up at like 3:30 for ages. Did eventually get a bit more sleep but not much.

8.8

Spent the day staring at the rules in a dev environment that are a mishmash of several versions of things including imports of prod. It's a complete mess. I've been wanting to clean it up for literally seven years and finally had a good excuse because I need to do it to prep for a project that will require us to actually do real work in there (and I can't see anything in there at the moment). Andor 2.10 then Lego Masters 7.10 (semi final - a Harry Potter build which was a heap of fun!).

Tuesday.

Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved... Originally from Joel 2:28-32. After the apostles receive the Holy Spirit.  Just a reminder.

Slept mostly ok. Definitely had energy this morning more so than other mornings recently. Had my morning routine done by like 7:40 instead of after 8. Not quite the whole day cleaning up dev (too many people wanting things) but I did delete nearly 1360 policies that weren't in use - winning!!

It was perfect soup weather on Tuesday
Soup Tuesday

Cooked a tuna bake (forgot the dill) with brussels sprouts and broccolini for dinner.

Tuna bake Tuesday

Andor 2.11. The second half of this series has definitely picked up quite a bit, I'm enjoying it a lot more. Then it was sorting out Mum's photos, removing some duplicates and getting a "definitive" version for picking later.

Wednesday.

Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out .. after God heals a lame man through Peter, and Peter is telling the onlookers about Jesus.  What he said.

Slept mostly ok. Deleted more crap today. Went into the city after work to get a filter for a new lens I'm hoping to get because Ted's said it wouldn't be available til like September. Turns out it was the lens not available not the filter.. which makes more sense but FFS now I have two filters and no lens. Sigh.

Lights. With bus. And random.

Leftovers for dinner. Andor 2.12 (season finale) then Lego Grand Masters of the Galaxy 7.11 (season finale). **spoilers** .. I reckon Trent and Alex's build was totally win-worthy, but obviously Brickman preferred the art of Henry and Cade's.

Thursday.  Slept okish. More deleting crap and tidying and documenting what's left in the dev environment I'm working on.

Good Games vending machine!!
GoodGames vending machine

Good drinks although not many people. Pizzas then DS9 4.19 then the Bomb and the Cold War episode 8. Before it started I was telling Stu that I'd really like to watch a documentary on some thing I was thinking about.. but we started watching the show and forgot about it. And then for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was that we were talking about. And neither could Stu. All we could remember was it was some engineering thing, because I remember telling him that I liked engineering stuff like dams, bridges and towers, but I never could have been an engineer cause I'm dumb and no good at advanced maths. Oh well.

Friday.

Acts 4:12 - Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved .. Peter talking about Jesus to the High Priest, elders and the teachers of the law in Jerusalem after he was arrested for talking about the resurrection.

Slept relatively ok. Did a bit of tidying/documenting but not as much as I'd have liked. Found this video by Kurzgesagt quite depressing.  Chris didn't have Kievs so we had some chicken pieces but they were a bit too spicy for me. I did make a nice dipping sauce of yoghurt, garlic powder, lemon juice and dill though.

No Kiev Friday

Death in Paradise 14.7 then Flying High because I needed something light.

Evening fog

Saturday.  Awake from like 1:30 til after 5 or so. Stressing about All The Things. Hurray. Surprisingly unzombielike though. Mostly Lego filing all day. Annie came over for a while in the afternoon which was nice and she brought some nice peanut butter and choc chip cookies she made. Dumpling Inn for dinner then we watched Rogue One, which worked well after just finishing Andor.

Dumpling Inn delivery

Sunday.

Acts 4:32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.... oof yeah that doesn't happen much anymore!

Slept through til ~4 before waking up and never getting back to sleep. Stressing about All The Things. Got some stuff done during the day but not nearly enough.

Angry cloud

Angry clouds

Food shopping in the afternoon.

Twin cranes

Sunday.  22nd.  Cooked some roast chicken, brussels sprouts and a blue cheese cauliflower bake for dinner.  It sure makes a difference cooking the chicken "upside down" - because the breast meat cooks in juices and so it doesn't dry out as much.  Much more betterer.

Roast chicken

DS9 4.16, then Lego Masters 7.7.

Monday.  Slept okish I think.

The mini capsicum plant finally succumbed to the sub-zero temperatures!
Frozen mini capsicum

Busy day again. Cooked up leftover chicken with some mushrooms, bok choy, yellow curry paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, and Greek yoghurt (I didn't have any coconut cream in the house).

Yellow curry chicken

Andor 2.7. Photo culling and picking.

Tuesday.  Took a while to get to sleep and woke up very early hrmmm. Another crazy busy day. Cooked up the last of the leftover chicken with half a cauliflower, cream, lemon juice, dill and some Greek yoghurt (didn't have much cream).  I probably should have let it reduce some more, but I was hungry!

Lemon dill chicken

Andor 2.8 then computer backups. Been thinking about life and death recently. And am I the only one that's worried about nuclear war? If I die what is to become of all my photos? Will anyone ever see them? Or care? Is there any point in trying to save them from the EMP apocalypse? And what is the meaning of life really? To know Christ and to make him known. I'm not very good at that.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly okish. A day of interruptions stopping me from getting any work done (of which there was still tonnes to do). After 17:00 it got quiet and I had an hour of peace which I used to finally get to my inbox under control (it's been out of control for a couple of weeks). So that was nice. Pizzas for dinner, must be Thursday. Wait, what?

Wednesday pizzas

Then Andor 2.9. No time for Legomasters, nearly bed time sigh.

Thursday.  Busy day again. After drinks was a trivia night. We might have won. Whoops. But the good thing was they decided in advance that the last place table should run the next one which was a relief for us. Read: me. The first round was called Geospatial, which was Google Earth shots of various cities and landmarks. We totally aced that round. That was literally *my* round haha. The next round was macro shots of various objects and you had to guess what they were. We did pretty well, but a couple eluded us. Current affairs was fairly standard. Music was tv theme tunes. A couple I'd never heard of but Neil and Duncan were like "oh that's F Troop" haha. They did Home and Away too. Gin and I sang that one. What's funny is that I literally haven't heard the theme tune in like 35 years (we watched the first few seasons back in the late 80s/early 90s) but I still remembered all the words. We might have sung a bit of The Love Boat as well.  Aussie TV ads was also a bit of fun. The last round was dumb - photos of random people and had they ever worked here. So yeah, it was all (mostly) on the easy side, so everyone did quite well, but that also made just so much more fun. Great night.

Friday.  Slept relatively well considering. Not too many tickets which was good - gave me some time to finally fix the issues in my config dump script. Took it and ran it over our dev environment, which needs a massive cleanup. We were going to go into the city after work to look at lenses, but in the end didn't go and had kievs for dinner.

Kiev Fridays

DS9 4.17 then Lego Masters.

Saturday.  Slightly early night, but then woke up at 4:40 doh. Mostly filing Lego all day. Headed out to the club in the late afternoon - first time we'd been out in six months! Eeep! It was Chris and Ian's 10th wedding anniversary formal night which was pretty cool. It was James Bond themed, and of course there was trivia, and we might have won. Whoops. Not toooo late a night.

Sunday.  Slept relatively well considering. Came home and then mostly just Lego filing.  Think will have an early night tonight!

Sunday.  8th.  Leftovers for dinner.  Had to endure DS9 4.8 Too much of DS9 is like this, just something to be endured. Didn't feel like doing anything after. 19:30 is bed time right?

Monday.  Awake from like 1-4 or something silly. Ridiculous. Had a quite productive day though, alternating between house stuff, photo stuff, computer stuff and I finished a jigsaw. Leftovers for dinner then watched DS9 4.9. Somewhat better episode, if a bit silly. Did some Mum photo picking after dinner.

Tuesday.  Slept mostly ok. Was both XL and NEIL at work, but also had time to figure out a PowerShell problem and get my pretty report working. Leftovers for dinner then DS9 4.10. Then culling of Salzburg photos from 2016. I really do need to make an "ultimate" Sound of Music location guide one day. It'd have more on it than literally anyone else.

The mini capsicum is hanging in there even in the sub-zero temperatures overnight!
Hanging in there

Orange flowers hanging in there

Wednesday.  Took a while to get to sleep but then slept mostly okish. Another day of tickets and scripting and not too much BS, which always makes for a pleasant work day. Also played with Copilot to get it to tell me what some regex did, and write me a regex for something else I wanted to do - and it actually worked!! It was actually pretty amazing.  Kievs and chippies for dinner because the sweetie wanted comfort food so had that instead of leftovers.

Kiev Wednesdays

DS9 4.11 and a bit of Salzburg culling, but mostly getting distracted by Sound of Music locations.

Thursday.  When I first did my Pixie it was quite warm.  This past week has been sub-zero in the mornings..

Pixie cold

Slept okish I think. Just tickets mostly at work. Good drinks - several groups came which was good. Pizzas and DS9 4.12.

Friday the 13th!!  Awake for hours on and off *sigh*. But did turn the heater off in the hopes we'd be able to turn it on again in the morning - and we could! Winning!! Tickets and scripting day, quite nice. Did more playing with Copilot - gave it a problem and got it to solve the PowerShell for me. Pretty awesome. Lunch with the Chrises and Tony at the Burns Club (not that one, the other one!) which was nice.

Burns Club salt and pepper squid

The gang

Dinner was a blue cheese cabbage bake and brussels sprouts with some pulled pork I dug out of the freezer.

Blue cheese cabbage bake

DS9 4.13 then new Lego Masters!!! Lego Grand Masters of the Galaxy!

Saturday.  Slept mostly ok.

Still smoke

Ok morning, but not really super productive. In the afternoon we ran a couple of errands then went to the Handmade Markets at EPIC. Had to get potato on a stick of course, and TRBC was there too!  (the food hall was more fun for me than the hand-made stuff)

Leftovers for dinner then we watched The Holdovers, which was quite a nice movie.

Sunday.  Slept mostly ok. Quiet day, bit of house stuff, some jigsaws.  It was cold and wet and miserable, nice day to stay indoors.

Sunday.  1st of June.  1st day of winter.  Although feels like it's been around a little while longer.  Heater is permanently on because we're too scared to touch the controller in case it dies and never comes back again.  And the peeps at Heating Cooling Warehouse STILL haven't acknowledged that we bought a brand-new-second-hand controller off them.  Will need to call them.

Ahem.

Turns out if you fry sour dough in bacon fat it turns out amazingly..

Bacon fat sour dough

The sweetie did a pea and ham soup for dinner.

Pea and ham soup

DS9 4.2 then The Bomb episode 2.

Monday.  Photos and jigsaw kind of a day.

Orange flowers

Did a slow cooker lamb shoulder for dinner with a bunch of veggies.  Slow cooker lamb sure is a winner.  I separated the fat out though before making the gravy with it - got a whole small decor container of fat out that we might otherwise have eaten.

Slow cooker lamb shoulder

DS9 4.3 then The Bomb episode 3.

Tuesday.  Slept like crap.  Didn't get to sleep til like midnight, and then an ordeal to get comfortable. Back to work. Stayed "offline" all day to avoid the questions. Spent the day catching up on emails and doing tickets. Cooked up the last of the mince I cooked the other day with some tomato and cheese - simple but tasty. DS9 4.4.

Wednesday.  Slept okish. I think. Another relatively quiet day at work - the calm before the storm really. Leftovers for dinner. DS9 4.5.

Gradient

Thursday.  Slept okish. I'm now XL for a month. Did a few tickets but distracted waiting for responses from people. Pizza for dinner, must be Thursday! DS9 4.7 (what happened to 4.6??) and recognised James Cromwell even under all his prosthetics! Then episode 5 of the bomb (don't know what day we watched episode 4).

Orange flowers

Friday.  Awake from like 3:30 or so. Hurray.  Got some tickets done and had some time in the afternoon to work on my reporting script. Even got it to do what I wanted which was nice. Kievs for dinner, DS9 4.6 (labelled as 4.7 in Netflix - so the wrong way around compared to IMDB) then episode 6 of the bomb.

Orange flowers

Saturday.  Slept okish. Quiet day of All The Things. Well, some house stuff, jigsaw, scanning, photo stuff and listening to the Classic 100 Piano.

Rainbow

Rainbow

I asked the sweetie what he wanted to do for dinner. We got Chong Co. Heh.

Chong Co

Watched Inglorious Basterds after dinner. It was .. "interesting" .. hrmmm!

Sunday.  Slept okish - even slept in til nearly 7!! Went out by myself to do food shopping (Stu's back is having a week since he went into the office a couple of times during the week and had to sit up straight for too long). Forgot it was Sunday at Jamo - usually parking is a nightmare on Sundays. Fortunately the rain kept the crowds away so parking wasn't an issue.

You park like an asshole

I haven't been to Coles at Jamo since December and the entire store has been completely redesigned and refitted. Very stressful. Super quiet day, mostly just jigsaw and listening to Classic 100 Piano.  Beethoven made number 1.  Again.  How many times has Beethoven won?  Must be a few heh..

Was filing photos and came across photos I took of a tree removal being done at our neighbour Rhonda Owen's house years ago.  It prompted me to go look for real estate agent photos of the place to see what it looked like now (and then).

The funny thing is, there's actually a few key moments and memories of my life that I have that were at that house.

First up, is that I learned to ride a bike right here!!  There were a few kids over at their place playing and puttering around on the bikes.  I was on a bike (this was before I'd learned to ride) and was just going round and round the clothes line.  I remember the moment that I was obviously fast enough to get the gyroscopic stability and the feeling of actually "getting it".  It was pretty cool.

I also had my one and only ride on a motorcycle in that back yard, as David Owen's father was there for a birthday party and was giving all the kids rides.

Rhonda Owen's back yard

The Owens had a Commodore (I think) computer with an actual cassette tape drive that would take half or three quarters of an hour to load a game from tape. Excruciating!!  This is where it was setup.  Very likely at this exact side table!

Rhonda Owen's living room

One time I went down to see if I could play on the computer and walked into a full on orb web face first right here!!  I was horrified!!  I spent ages at the door trying to pull that spider web off.  Rhonda let me in even though David wasn't home to play with.  Awkward!!

Rhonda Owen's front yard

How cute is this?  T/J got this for me.  It has the same mechanism as a 3D printed one we have at work.

Sunday.  25th.  Leftover Chong Co for dinner. DS9 3.21 then continued watching the How to Change Your Mind documentary on psylocibin.

Monday.  Slept mostly okish.  Quiet day.  Stoopidly put washing outside because it was sunny. Had to rescue it like half an hour later because it was about to rain. Well the sweetie did, he's been looking after me. Cold and wet and miserable, and no working heater hurray.

11.6

The tomato plant this was on died from the cold before its only fruit ever ripened..

In the evening there was like one single bolt of lightning nearby but nothing else. Stu cooked some leftover chicken with miso and broccolini which was very nice.

Miso chicken and broccolini

DS9 3.22 then the doco on MDMA.

Tuesday.  Okish sleep.  Quiet day.  Managed to get the heater going so didn't touch the controls all day.  Stu cooked up some creamy mushrooms with fake fettucini which was very nice.

Mushroom fettucini

DS9 3.23 then the last part of the documentary on mescalin.  Too scared that if we touched the heater controls it wouldn't work again, so left it running all night.  Hate doing that, scared we'll either get carbon monoxide poisoning in our sleep or the place will burn down.

Wednesday.  Okish sleep.  Heater still working.  Quiet day.  Did get out for a short walk with Tony which was nice.

Orange flowers

Found this photo while filing photos which I thought was pretty cool

DS9 3.24.

Thursday.  20 years since I met the sweetie!  Quiet day.  Lots of photo filing this week, so felt the need to backup my computer so I wouldn't have to redo all that work if something happened to the drive.  DS9 3.25.

Friday.  Turned off the heater to go out.  Miraculously it didn't lose power and we were able to restart it.  Cooked up some mince with tomato/tomato paste/cheese/veggie rice for dinner.

DS9 3.26 then part 2 of Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War.

Saturday.  Quiet day.  Started a jigsaw. Filed lots of photos. Kievs for dinner. DS9 4.1/2

Monday.  Slept okish I guess. Ok day at work, got some stuff done. Talked to Mum after work. Epic stress. Epic drama. Not to mention the STRESS that Mum and I are both feeling. Epic depressed about it all. The sweetie cooked some nice pork rissoles for dinner which was lovely of him.

Stu's rissoles

DS9 3.14 which was pretty silly.

Tuesday.  Took well over an hour to get to sleep. This is what happens when you *don't* drink. Somewhat restless sleep. Bits and pieces at work and even managed some programming in between interruptions. Europe photo culling, DS9 3.15.

I'm not sure which I prefer.  Probably the phone photo - everything is in focus.  The Canon's depth of field is so ridiculously shallow that you can't get everything in focus, and there's abberations.  At least most of the crap on the window is blurred out.

Somewhat restless sleep.   Rinse and repeat.  Pretty good progress on a script I'm working on, although hit a roadblock doing something simple. Leftover butt cheeks and cabbage for dinner, DS9 3.16. Butt cheeks

Thursday.  Slept kinda okish. Got a few bits and pieces done. Pizzas for dinner. DS9 3.17.

Friday.  Woke up at dentist time and only got like 3/4 hour more sleep after that. Hurray. Frustrating day fighting with Powershell. I too dumb. Leftover lamb and veggies for dinner. DS9 3.18. Dumb episode.

Saturday.  Woke up early I think. Mostly uneventful drive to Sydney. Followed a Murray's coach from the Barton Highway to Picton Road which was pretty cool. At one point a Tesla passed us which had a sticker to the effect of "I bought this before Elon went crazy". No rocks on Hanging Rock Road. Bumper to bumper traffic all the way from Yarrawarra to Mum's because of Heathcote Road closure. And the fact that Sydney traffic sucks all kinds of donkey balls. Got to Mum's and we spent most of the afternoon going through holiday stuff. Also checked out backup hard drives and I backed up her computer again. Had TV dinners for dinner. Went for a walk after dinner so Mum could get some milk and I could get a beer. It got very late very quickly.

Mum has these textas of mine that she used long after I stopped using them.  I've had them since I was in primary school, so they're at least forty years old.
They still work.
Mind. Blown.

Sunday.  Slept okish. Had to have the door open because it was like 22C in the room - way too hot! It got down to about 19 by morning - just barely tolerable! :) Did some copying of Dad's photos off an external hard drive (possibly the only copy she has of his photos). Also looked at a lot of photos. Went for a long walk around lunch time and picked up a bbq chooken for late lunch. Saw David briefly, went through holiday stuff, then everyone left in different directions. It was after 16:30 by the time I left, way way way too late, so was a pretty tense drive in the dark and the rain. Two wallabies jumped in front of my near Broughton Pass, but luckily didn't hit anything. Late dinner when I got home.

This little house is for sale.  It's on a 1220sqm block.  I guarantee it will be at the very least a duplex but more likely three or four townhouses the next time I see it...
