Had a pretty quiet Australia Day. I had hurty that kept me awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Did a little bit of house stuff. More hurty for a couple of hours in the afternoon. For dinner we took some sausages and salad down to Kit's and had a bbq with her.
Friday I took a Random Day Off and Got Stuff Done. Piled up a bunch of stuff and took it out to the Green Shed. Only came home with a jigsaw, four small candles and some cookie cutters. Did a bunch of errands and shopping all over the place, and final stop was food shopping. Coles have now introduced coin trolleys which is a pain in the @$$. They've always needed trolley return bays at that carpark, but now they REALLY need them. Painful. Cooked roast beef for dinner and watched Z for Zachariah in the evening. Ok, but introduced a whole new thread that the book didn't have (I read the book in high school so don't remember a huge amount about it, but the things I did remember weren't in the movie.
Saturday was another quiet day doing mostly house stuff. Chris and Zac came over for a swim in the afternoon. Cooked lemon ginger chicken for dinner from a recipe I got out of the Coles magazine. Watched the first Hunger Games in the evening.
Sunday yet another quiet day (although two quiet days I didn't really get that much done :( ). Ben came over for a swim in the afternoon. The sweetie cooked Scotch eggs for dinner which were pretty good. Watched the second Hunger Games.

Last night I just couldn't get to sleep - too hot and uncomfortable, so was a bit of a zombie today :(
Thursday night I felt pretty flat on account of me being a retard. We watched Star Trek and the first episode of the new season of Fuller House. Then there was a picture of Yosemite on the Chromecast screensaver, so I said we should watch Star Trek V.. so we did. The chemistry between Kirk/Spock/McCoy is pretty much at its peak in that movie, and that's about its only redeeming feature.
Friday was Star Trek, Fuller House, and Die Hard 2. Because it's Christmas. :)
Saturday was house stuff in the morning, then we went over to Aquila and Glenda's for afternoon champagne and cheese. Nom. We didn't need dinner. So much cheese! A very lovely afternoon. Although did have a bit of a late night cause we went down to Kit's later in the evening.

Had a bit of a slow start on Sunday. After lunch headed out to get some photos from my Canberra photo project which I'd missed because I didn't realise where they were taken (I'd assumed they were taken at the base of Black Mountain Tower, but they were actually taken further down the hill. And I redid the ones of Black Mountain Peninsula now they've reopened that area.

And I walked to the top of Parliament House because you can. But not for much longer. Hence why I did it. To get into the middle though you need to go through security. I'll save that for another day, as the sweetie wanted to go and do our food shopping and go home.

Tonight James and George and Josh and Rachel were passing through so we went to Bella Vista for dinner (definitely a tradition now!) and Cold Rock after (which is now starting to become a tradition). Can't believe it's been four years since the last time we saw them down here.

Friday night we finally did a big food shop, then we went down to Kit's for hamburgers for dinner.
Saturday was just getting stuff done around the house. In the evening we watched a documenatory on Leonard Nimoy and then Die Hard.
Sunday was more house stuff. Went out for lunch and did a Bunnings run. Did more house stuff and repotted plants in the afternoon. In the evening did a three cheese and bacon roast chicken and Kit came up for that, then we went over to Annie's to give Noah his birthday present.
All in all a nice weekend.
Wednesday night I started coughing. Spent the next few days feeling like crap. And the next few days coughing non-stop. Fun times. Not.
Saturday we fed about seventy people at the club. The sweetie had to do most of the food preparation though, because I didn't want to spread germs.

Dave and Kat came up for the weekend too which was nice, other than feeling like crap of course.
My back hurts, I think from all the coughing :(
So after a pretty depressing day at work I met up with Heather to shop for the weekend's club event. Well really it was for the after party for the actual event. Except the actual event has been cancelled due to insolvency of a third party and so everyone is pretty devastated. The after party is still going ahead, but it might feel more like a wake to a lot of people. And I prolly won't get to see the little brother, who probably had more invested in the whole thing than anyone.
*sigh*
Also. I'm getting sick. Hurrah.
Oh did I mention we got evaporative cooling installed during the week? Should make summers here a *lot* more bearable.
Tonight I finally finished building all Zac's Lego sets. Fun times. Now to document it all..
Other weekend stuff included watching Top Gun on Friday night and Star Trek First Contact on Saturday night (we'd just watched Metamorphosis with Zefram Cochrane so were inspired), as well as repotting some of my plants that needed some love.
The other weekend I patched and rebooted my computer, as you do.
Except afterwards a whole stack of crap got broken or went weird.
I lost Irfanview from the right-click open-with. Had to go select the application again to get it to remember it.
It changed all my window bars from blue to magenta. Even tho it was still set to blue in the settings. Changed it and changed it back again and it came good.
It finally killed all my scheduled tasks. Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, the scheduled tasks I have that pop up reminders to do things at certain times/days stopped being listed in the Task Scheduler, and gave me errors any time I tried to open it. The tasks all still worked but I just couldn't see or edit them. Well after the last patching cycle they finally stopped working altogether, which is a pain because now I'll have to set them all up again.
I've had issues with my scanner ever since. I don't know if it's a driver problem or a hardware problem. But if I keep clicking ok to the error and trying again it'll scan. Super annoying.
And Windows 10 is extremelly rude and reboots for patching without permission. Often it'll pop up a thing and you can choose to schedule it, but you can only choose to schedule it for a few days before it insists on having to do it. But the other day I came home and it had rebooted without my permission and no warnings. #grunt
Nothing much of note to report lately.
Had a weekend at the club for one of the long weekends. Stu worked on his assignment and Heather, Lynn and I cleaned out the office. It looks sooo much better now!

Had a bit of a walk last week to try and get the step count up. Saw cool skies and fairy rings of flowers and swanlings.

Had a dinner with the sweetie at Pappa Rich in town last week which was nice enough.

Popped into Kit's when we got home. Chloe was there with her new iPhone 7 which does take pretty good low light photos

Last weekend had a dinner at EffanC's and Scott came too and we just chatted all evening which was nice.
Other than that, I finished sorting Lego and picking out pieces for all the sets. Now I'm putting them all together. Fun times.
Had to log onto work this morning and ended up having to go in. So the entire day lost to work, and another weekend lost.
To say I'm annoyed at one particular vendor is an understatement.
Of course now I'm second guessing myself. Maybe this weekend was salvagable. I just have no idea cause, well, I have no idea about anything.
*sigh*
In what felt like a loop I was at work for the third weekend out of the last four. Things went a bit better today though so that was good.
Tonight I watched Looper. Interesting movie, but has more problems the more you think about it.
