Backdating, and also no photos yet, I just haven't processed them yet.  At some point you should reload the September page, as there's going to be a bunch of backdated posts and updates with photos.

So Monday had peeps over for pizza for Stu's L'th.  So no UK photo labelling.

Tuesday.  Back to work.  Sigh.  Also.  David is sick with a cold.  Spent the entire night processing photos and blogging for previous weeks, so no UK photo labelling.

Wednesday.  David went for a covid test (it's not going to be covid), picked up supplies, then went home.  Once again photo processing and blogging so no UK photo labelling.

Thursday watched Herbie Rides Again, which was very silly, but the best part was Helen Hayes playing basically the same sweet little old lady as in Flying High.  David's covid test was negative (we knew it would be).

Friday.  Awake for hours in the middle of the night.  Hurrah.  Ok day.  Watched Princess Mononoke, which I found really quite irritating.  Normally there's good guys and bad guys in a story, but in this one everyone is a bit of both, so it's like, do we like these characters or not?  And ultimately no consequences for being evil, the "bad guys" (if you can call them that) win and carry on as before.  Urgh.  So annoying.

Saturday.  Ploughed through the todo list.  Lost the my angel fish which was pretty sad.  Happy one day, dying the next.  Sigh.  Watched the original Mulan (we don't have premium so can't see the new one yet).

Sunday.  Ploughed through the todo list.

In the afternoon cooked for three hours straight.  Cooked up taco mince for during the week.  Cooked up a kilo pack of mince with onion, garlic and bacon to be used with whatever takes our fancy.  Cooked up some chicken thighs to have with Pataks later in the week.  And also cooked the sunday roast - tuscan drumsticks, potato bake, roast pumpkin, zucchini and carrot.

In the evening watched My Neighbours the Yamadas.  Man the Ghibli films keep going downhill.  Not even a movie as such, just an animated comic book where each character gets a chance to show how it sux to be them.  I had restless legs the entire way through, and made the sweetie come sit with me instead of just playing his game so he could see what I had to suffer through.  Yeup.

Backdating.. cause I'm a slacker!

Monday.  Usual Monday Stuff.  Having trouble keeping up with UK photo labelling.  Just hard work.  In the afternoon David came home with a Lego Yoda to build!  Someone at his work had conceded defeat with it and given it to David to do.  He sat down in the late afternoon and didn't move until he'd finished yet - like five hours later (I brought him dinner of leftovers).  Although the first hour was pulling apart the beginnings of the work that had been done, and finding the mistakes which would have made it very hard for his colleague to have progressed with.

Tuesday.  Leftovers for dinner.  Started watching season 12 of BBT (David brought up his Blurays).  Then watched 101 Dalmatians - the Glenn Close version, with Mr Weasley and House as the thugs :)  None of the animals speak in the live action remake so it's a little more human focussed, but not bad.  Pretty sure I've seen it before a long time ago.  Also tried out Coles shopping online which we haven't done in a few years.

Wednesday.  Catching up on photo labelling from the past couple of nights - labelled nearly four hundred photos, although over a hundred of those were of the bird of prey show at Warwick Castle.  Ended up only 67 photos behind for the week.  Also made a random gnocchi since David wasn't home and I could use tomatoes.

Thursday Stumpy was being naughty and trying to get out.  He'd actually gotten on top of the light before he slipped off when I got this picture.

Naughty Stumpy

Friday we had the Coles delivery.  Some of the meat I ordered wasn't available, and they gave us a block of cheese because they didn't have cubes.  Pretty sure you can set replacement options, but ultimately shopping online is a bit of a pain because if something isn't available you don't find out until they're about to deliver it.  In store you could just get something else, but online you end up going without.

In the evening we headed out to the club.  Got the fire going, and had some drinks and snackages, which turned out to be dinner.  Whoops.

Club fire

Club healthy dinner

The owners of our old van were trying to burn out a big stump.

Stump burning

Went up to the shed and chatted to people for a bit, then went to bed.

Saturday.  Terrible sleep.  Was awake from 2-4:30 or so.  Had a bit of a sleep in and a very slow start.  Got a fire going again.

Club fire morning

There was a working bee on the day.  I asked John for a job and he pointed me at the glass sliding door to the sun room and said see if you can get the concrete spatter off that (from when they poured the slab).  So I spent ages with a fingernail, a paint scraper and some vinegar getting it looking beautiful.

Concrete spatter

Others were redoing the pool decking that was completely rotten and very dangerous.

Club new decking

In the evening we were supposed to have a bonfire, but it threatened rain so we just hung out in the shed (just under the covid people limit for the space).  Didn't stop me from cooking marshmallows in the fire!

I was pretty bummed that I wasn't doing my Christmas in July dinner that night - have done it every year for quite a few years now.  I even took some roast pork and stuff for a potato bake, but I wasn't sure who was going to be using the oven so it was all too hard so we just had snackages, although did have some of Nick/Tab and Dee's food which was nice of them.

Sunday morning we came home.  I was feeling lost, after having lost over half my weekend at home.  In the afternoon cooked for several hours straight - cooked up taco mince for later in the week, the roast pork, brussels sprouts with bacon, epic potato bake, a rocky road and some cheese and bacon balls, using cream cheese that was best before May.  It was totally fine.  I'd picked the wrong thing from the Coles order (another disadvantage of shopping online - too easy to make mistakes and pick the wrong thing) - taco shells instead of a taco kit - so had to make my own taco spice.  I think I used about a teaspoon each of chili powder (bit less of that), garlic powder, herbs, paprika, cumin, corn flour, salt and pepper.  I was already feeling delicate when David snuck into the kitchen at one point and scared the hell out of me.  I might have had a meltdown on the spot.  And then everyone was sulky with each other all night.  Hurrah.

Last of the food porn for today, I promise ;)

Stu's favourite side from Dominos at the moment are their garlic scrolls.  I had a go at making them the other week but they were fairly dry.  Need to do a bit more experimenting ;)

Just some olive oil spray, powdered parmesan (I think), shredded parmesan, and garlic powder.

Garlic scrolls

Nice, but yeah, a little dry.

Backdating a bit...

So where we?

Sunday was roast pork, and finished watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.  I did like Jim Carrey playing a serious role, but the movie was all a little odd and a little confusing with the end at the beginning and stuff.

Monday was trying to catch up on photo labelling that I missed out doing last week.  Got a lot done but didn't catch up.  Passed 1600 scanning Dad's slides.

Tuesday I woke up at 3:24 and never got back to sleep :(  Work fighting with stoopid proxies.  And stoopid people wanting to put me on the phone in front of a room full of people while they put me on the spot while I solve their stoopid proxy problem for them.  I. Don't. Think. So.  !!!!  Finished up at 4pm then spent the next two hours catching up on housework.  It never fricken ends.  Put the bins out, did some washing, put away some washing, did the dusting and vacuuming (omfg awful old vacuum cleaner), put away a jigsw, and just a general tidy up (our cordless vacuum cleaner has been playing up after something got jammed in the roller.  Had to drag out the old one but it is sooo painful to use!!)

Wednesday fixed a different stoopid proxy problem for Tony (hi Tony!).  After dinner finally caught up on UK photo labelling.  Started watching Marie Antoinette (ha, another Kirsten Dunst movie).

Thursday someone at work said muchos nachos and that was enough inspiration for lunch!

Nachos

Nachos

While I was buying the chips, I asked Chris if I should buy toilet paper.  He said yes.  So I did.  Yanno, cause second wave in Victoria and people being stoopid and all.  Watched an episode of Fuller House - the one where Steph accidentally backs the car into the kitchen.  And I thought I'd go watch the original episode.  Except Netflix have pulled Full House!!  Bastards.  So watched the scene on YouTube instead.  Finished watching Marie Antoinette.

Friday we both took a random day off so we could Get Things Done.  We end up being out All. Day.

First stop was the mall.  Stu needed a hair cut - he'd been sporting the COVID-19 hair cut - it was *very* long.  While he did that I bought some sheets, some gluhwein, and some storage tubs.

Next we headed to Fyshwick to look at beds.  We really want something bigger, and I want a firmer mattress.  There were a couple of options that came close, but we didn't see anything we both fell in love with.

Then to Ikea because, Ikea.  Well actually I wanted to get a storage cube for David's room, and Stu wanted to get a little drawer unit for his study.  After the lap of the show room and running into Scott we had lunch.  Because of COVID-19 they want you to register with a QR code that takes you to their site, you fill in all your deets and you get a ticket - they won't let you in without one.  So then you take a trolley, go order your food, pay, then they seat you.  All very strange.

Ikea lunch

Ikea lunch

Walked through the bits and pieces section and I picked up a lightning cable and some candles, before we picked up what we came for.

Then we headed into the city.  Stu had a physio appointment for his back, and I wandered BigW and JB Hifi.

Then to Jamo for our food shopping.  And it was a good thing I bought toilet paper the day before - Coles are out again!

Empty toilet paper shelves

Ran into Peter LM there too which was pretty funny.

Collapsed in a heap when we got home.  Sausages for dinner, then we watched Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (in english, because, Patrick Stewart).

Saturday morning I scanned some more slides.  50 boxes, 1800 slides scanned.  I made up the shelves for David's room, and Stu's drawers.

The shelves came with an allen key holdy thingie for better leverage..

Otherwise just all the houseworks.  Made Ali's choc chip cookies.  And a blue cheese potato bake.  I watched Josh Gad's Reunited Apart episode on Splash, either Friday or Saturday, so started watching Splash :)

Sunday I drove to Sydney.  On the way I stopped at Nepean Dam, but Avon Dam is closed at the moment - bridge works apparently.  Got to Mum's and we spent quite a while looking at all Dad's slides that I'd scanned so far.  She filled in some stories for some of them which was pretty cool.  Roasted some potatoes to have with some leftover chicken.

Monday morning first thing we headed to my flat.  The tenants were moving out and after being burnt last time I wanted to make sure I saw the place this time.  I allowed 45 minutes to get there in peak hour traffic.  It took 20.  In fact we were so early we did a drive by of Grandma's old flat, and then a drive by of Luc and Lizzi's.  Their car was out the front so we went and said hi :)  So that was nice to see them.  And omfg Sammy is pregnant!  After so long that's amazing news.  So went and looked at the flat.  The tenants had done an amazing job keeping the place clean.  In fact the stove was cleaner than when they got it!

Clean stove

Then I drove straight home.  Well kinda.  I did have to wait an extra maybe twenty minutes or half an hour or so because someone wasn't paying attention and smashed their car up on the Hume.  I probably would have been quicker dropping Mum home and taking Appin Road.  Oh well.  Then straight to work.  Blah evening, but did finish watching Splash.

Oh my what a week.

So back to last Sunday.  I forgot to mention we went to the markets for a little bit of food shopping, altho we didn't get very much.  Had chicken cordon bleu that we got that day for dinner because, yum.  Into season 11 BBT.

Chicken cordon bleu

Monday just doing all the things and UK photo labelling.

Tuesday morning I felt like had way too much to do at home to have time to go to work.  But at work I was so insanely busy I actually felt a bit queasy in my stomach.  I was completely on edge all day.  Late in the afternoon I went downstairs to move crap out of David's side of the garage that we'd dumped there on the weekend and I stepped on an air packing bag in the dark (twice in three days - I'd done the same thing in the dungeon on the weekend) and it made a huge bang and I had a full on meltdown right there on the garage floor.  It was definitely a wine and candle kind of an evening.  I asked the sweetie to cook so we got pizza.  hrmm.

Wine and candle night

The boys put on another couple of episodes of Space Force, and I watched the start of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.  There was also this photoshop disaster on the Chromecast.  That bridge isn't even in that location next to the Golden Gate Bridge, and the one they've photoshopped in there is only half there, and is distorted in places too.  Epic fail!

Photoshop disasters

Wednesday morning was up to 1500 of Dad's slides.  Then started some pretty full on AWS training (via Zoom).  Also, I'm too stoopid to be a network admin.  In the evening I redid one of the labs to try and figure out what I was doing wrong.  Got there in the end, but I did miss out on two nights of photo labelling this week :(

Thursday wasn't quite so intense.  We didn't have much food in the house, but I did have some sausages defrosted that I bought in March (I got three trays of meat to freeze before everything got really crazy, and figured it was time to use them up).  Managed to make up quite a nice dinner of sausages, cabbage bake and potatoes.

Nothing in the house dinner

Friday was pretty full on.  I didn't have time to go for a walk, and once I was done with the training I had to catch up on all the work I'd been neglecting at work.  Didn't finish til like 6pm.  Watched Howl's Moving Castle (the Billy Crystal english version on Netflix) with the sweetie, which I hadn't seen since we saw it at the movies in Brisbane in 2005.

Friday night I actually slept really well which was nice.  Saturday morning we did various medical things, had brunch at Rocksalt (really nice to have a nice brunch with the sweetie), dropped a boot full of clothes off at Vinnies and did a small food shop at the markets.

Stu had the shakshuka.  He'd have liked a bit more feta but otherwise liked it.
Rocksalt shakshuka

I had eggs benedict.  Lovely crispy toast and bacon, well cooked eggs and a nice hollandaise sauce - great job!

Beautifully cooked eggs!

In the afternoon was catching up on blogging and house stuff.  Also David fixed the display on Stu's CD player which hasn't worked for years (one incandescent light bulb blew, putting too much voltage on the other two which blew as well).  Most awesomest brother ever!!

Fixing the things

Watched some BBT and the next couple of Netflix corona virus documentary episodes (the race for a vaccine and how to cope).  The sweetie and I have been super lucky throughout this lockdown.  Even though we're introverts and actually prefer isolation, we still have each other (and David ;) ).  So we've been coping probably better than most people.

Today was nice and quiet, mainly just cleaning and tidying the house.  Altho I did feel somewhat cranky this afternoon (the vaccuum cleaner being a bumhead certainly didn't help).  We do have some roast pork in the oven so that should hopefully be nice.

And it rained this weekend!  I put this glass out last night and look at all the rain it caught!

Rainfall

After feeling like I didn't achieve much on Monday, I ploughed through my todo list on Tuesday morning while scanning slides, and actually got probably more done before 8:45am when I went to work than I did all day Monday.  I also didn't do any photo labelling on Monday night, so had to catch up on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  Got up to 2271 photos labelled.  I also might have ruined David's evening on Tuesday by putting out a new jigsaw for him to be distracted by ;)

Windmill jigsaw

Also convinced I was getting sick.  This is what happens when the only time we go out is for food, and have to encounter sick people.  Fricken heck.  Why can't we be proper hermits and never have to deal with people???

Thursday was Crust pizza, and we watched the first episode of Unorthodox which was interesting (although distracting with all the been-theres heh).

Friday I started cooking beef cheeks (which I'd tried to get the time before at Coles but couldn't, but did manage to get some on Monday) at lunch time and had A/M/C over for dinner which was nice.  Geeked out with C over ABC singing books and Monty Python.

Saturday the sweetie felt like food from the Scottish Restaurant for breakfast, so I obliged ;)  They were completely unorganised though.  The queue of cars wasn't moving, they tried to ask me what I wanted before I was anywhere near the speaker because of the cars not moving, then the person in the lane next to me got served first out of order, they didn't have the right order when I went to pay, they had to ask me what my order was when I went to pick up the food, and they *still* gave me food for someone else.  Basically a disaster all round.  Still, I did get the correct order eventually so all good.

Otherwise I didn't really do anything all day.  Spent all morning scanning my oldest ABC book.  Frittered away the afternoon.  Finished watching The Blues Brothers which I started possibly on Thursday night.  I didn't feel like standing in a cold kitchen cutting up chicken while everyone else slept, so got cranky and let the sweetie order vomit pizza and pepperoni and feta pizza, with these pretty amazing cheesy garlic scolls.  Then we watched The Phantom Menace.

Sunday was just Lego part picking.  All.  Day.

Sunday I tried out a recipe from Taste for pulled pork.  It was indeed extremelly easy - just some onion, garlic, and a dry spice rub, then stick in the slow cooker all afternoon.  I had no idea if it was going to work or not, but it worked just beautifully - fall apart tender meat.  The only problem is wasting the skin that I would otherwise make crackling with ;)  Might have to try with beef next time, and try some different combos of spices (this one had paprika, chili, cumin and fennel).

Pulled pork

Oh, also on the weekend was ABC Classic FM's Hottest 100 Beethoven.  I actually know surprisingly little of his work, so just voted for the few I recognised.  And of course the 5th and 9th symponies.  The 9th was always going to win, but I was shocked with the 5th came 5th!  I thought it would have come second.

Watched another two episodes of Unorthodox in the evening.

Today I felt like I didn't really get much done, but there's a reasonable amount ticked off the todo list.  Including scanning slides, finishing part picking for the last six sets, dusting, vacuuming, putting away washing, more washing, and we even went for a nice long walk around Palmerville with A&M (all the way up the highway and back).  Finished watching the Netflix series on Jeffrey Epstein that I'd been watching over the weekend.  Guy was a sleaze.  And how come they haven't charged anyone else???  Lunch was a packet pumpkin soup from Coles, and dinner will be that chicken.. in that very cold kitchen....

Backdating again.. I'm such a slacker!!

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday nothing eventful, just UK photo labelling and jigsaw.  By Wednesday I'd labelled 1706 photos in three weeks.

Thursday morning I passed 1000 slides of Dad's scanned.  Was up to episode 7 in Lego Masters.

Friday morning I found a date on one of Dad's pieces of RADOS paper.  The ABC used to print out the runsheets/programmes on paper and the system was called RADOS.  I'm sure Mum/David could correct me on the details.  The point is they only used the paper once then it was scrap.  So Dad used to bring it home for us as scrap paper.  All the time I was living at home I used that paper.  So did the rest of the family.  In the back of each slide box, Dad has used RADOS paper to summarise what is in each box.  The box I opened on Friday had the date - December 1980.  I already knew that Dad had rearranged slides somewhat from their original order, but this put a date on it - after 1980.  Fun times.

RADOS

Friday also happened to be the fifteen anniversary of when the sweetie and I first met in real life.  We had chicken kiev for dinner and watched Lego Masters.

Saturday I had a body corporate annual meeting for my flat in Sydney.  I've been to a couple over the years, but this year because of COVID-19 they did it as a phone meeting.  Which made it great for me - I could attend one without even leaving home!  The strata lady reckoned it was good because they got people calling in that wouldn't or couldn't normally come (like me!) and she even had one call in from South Africa for one of her buildings!

I also might have finished The Little Mermaid section of the jigsaw.  I cooked two trays of home-made potato wedges for dinner, which were epic awesome.  Then we watched some Lego Masters, which was the episode under water.  Which all tied in nicely with "Under the Sea" theme because we also watched The Little Mermaid that night.

The Little Mermaid Memorable Moment

Sunday was bits and pieces of housework, epic pizza scrolls for lunch, Lego part picking, and bribing the magpies not to swoop me come spring time (they came flying over before I'd even seen them - so fricken cool!)

Bribery and corruption

Pretty sure we finished Lego Masters that Sunday night.  Was really happy the guys that won did, they looked like they were having fun the whole way through and their builds were amazing.

Monday we went food shopping.  Did a bit of housey stuff.  Cooked "lemon butt chicken" for dinner (just a roast chicken with a whole lemon as stuffing).  Turned out really nicely.  Didn't get a lot of leftovers though ;)

Long weekends are great.....

Lamb shank stew, aka runny poo dinner we had last Sunday :)

Lamb shank stew

Monday I finished the Peter Pan section of the Disney Memorable Moments Behemoth jigsaw.  Took three weeks for that section, which is shorter than other sections, but probably because I tended to spend more time on it.

Tuesday I woke up at 2am and didn't get back to sleep for two or three hours.  Hurrah.

Slept better Tuesday night.  But Wednesday fricken Skype completely froze my home computer in the middle of a meeting.  Hate hate hate Skype.  Drove the sweetie to the doctor because his back has been causing him all sorts of grief.  Picked up my work laptop so I can run meetings from it on my other vm and not my main computer.  David finished a jigsaw we started, 1000 pieces in just a couple of nights hehe.

Got a tin of soup from Chris's and had cabbage bake and tomato bake for dinner.  Yum yum yum.

Cabbage bake and tomato bake

Thursday successfully used Skype from the laptop and other vm.  Although I did have a long Skype screenshare with Connor on my main computer because I really needed the big screen.  Traditional beer and pizza.  Watched Picard, and had a drink with Kit and Pete and a game of Kismet, which Kit won.

How awesome is Canberra, this literally two minutes walk from our house.
Bush capital

Friday we finished Picard (pretty sure it was Friday night we finished it.  Could have been Thursday).  Then watched Peter Pan so I could get a photo of the jigsaw and the movie.  Except the "memorable moment" of the kids flying in front of Big Ben never actually happened!!  It *sort of* did but only as a transtion between two shots.  I call shenanigans!!  (I managed to capture the transtion of shots, but if you watch it you can see they never actually did it).

Peter Pan jigsaw

Saturday I felt like I didn't do anything much, just towels washing, food shopping, cooking dinner at lunch time, and tidied the house a little.  I guess that's *something*.  Last time I was at Coles they didn't have the trolleys chained together so you didn't need coins or a dongle, and it was the same on Saturday.  Had epic beef stew for dinner, watched the first episode of the new season of Lego Masters, some BBT, Brooklyn 99 and Hackers.  Another blogging fail - I never blogged when we watched it last time.  I thought it was relatively recently, Stu thought it was at least five years.  No blog evidence though.

Sixteen different cheeses in the fridge!

Today I got a lot more done on the todo list, as well as finished part picking another nine sets (although actually only eight as one duplicate was already done and complete.  Had pancakes for lunch (it was Sunday, it was tradition for a decade when were kids).  Cooked epic lasagna for dinner.  Pics next week ;)

Had leftover lamb for dinner.  I cooked it with broccolini, snow peas, dark soy sauce and some brown sugar, served with rice, cashews and sesame seeds.  For something so random it turned out ok.  Well Stu really liked it and he even went back for seconds.  Looked like crap but hey :)

Lamb and broccolini

Then spent a good chunk of the evening blogging.

Thursday.  Slept well!!  What a refreshing change.  Beer, pizza, and Naked Gun 2 1/2.

Friday.  Slept well!  (with assistance).  Finished scanning box 14 of Dad's slides (three this week!).  It takes about ten minutes to scan a batch of four slides, but I can do other things while it's going.  Had a productive morning churning through tickets.

Did our food shopping at lunch.  OMFG Coles had toilet paper!!  First time I've seen toilet paper in Coles since the beginning of March.  Still depleted on the flour/rice/pasta/tomato section though.

OMFG toilet paper in Coles!

Had a pretty stressful afternoon.  Trying to help someone fix something at work.  Couldn't figure out why it had broken - by rights it should never have worked.  Came up with a workaround, but then had to go with David to get new taps.  Remember a few years back the shower was leaking, and I took a year to regrout and seal it?  Well the shower was still leaking.  Not as much, but it was still dripping downstairs.  And the bath had mismatched taps after our last attempt to get the vanity working, and the vanity taps (at least the cold water) was broken as well.  So really we needed to replace everything in the bathroom.  So David finally had some time to replace the taps, and normally I'd could flex off an hour or two with no problems.  But with the issues at work, plus all the other work I needed to do that afternoon, I was feeling super anxious about being away.  Never a good start to a shopping expedition.  So we went to Reece's first.  They have quite a large supply room, but you can't look at that, you can only look at the show room...  which only had a couple of different options, and we couldn't get any service.  The only person in the room was on the phone (on speaker phone no less) and wasn't going anywhere.  We waited about ten minutes before giving up and going to Bunnings.  So we found a bunch of taps but when we went to check fittings, realised the gooseneck for the vanity is a couple of millimetres too big for the new fittings.  ie, a new gooseneck would be too small for our current t-piece.  #grunt.  So asked someone if we could speak to a plumbing expert.  They called someone and they said he was with a couple of customers.  So we waited.  Eventually he turns up, says, oh there's more options at the back of aisle 58, and I'm leaving for the day, bye.  Great.  So sure enough, the back of aisle 58 has more options.  But the why the #$^@ couldn't all the taps be together???  Idiots.  So looked at the options.  Not really all that many.  Especially because I wanted those fancy taps where you *know* the tap is off, you don't have to grind into the washer to turn it off.  They're called half turn taps, did you know?  But there was only one gooseneck available that was "guaranteed to fit" - because it had the two different sized fittings - we could see it through the plastic.  But it didn't have the half turn taps.  We tried again to get a plumbing expert.  Eventually one came along.  We told him the gooseneck was a different size now.  And he was like.. oh..? really..?   So much for an expert.  Can you tell I was having fun being there just waiting around and not knowing if we were even getting the right thing?  hrmm.  So in the end decided to forego the gooseneck and just get three pairs of taps - two wall mounts, one vanity top.  All the same half turn style.  And also.. OMFG Bunnings was *packed*.  It wasn't even after hours, but I guess because of the long weekend everyone was there trying to get stuff for their home improvements.  Busier there that it normally is even on a weekend!!  Craziness!!

So got home, and I got back into work.  Figured out how/when/why aforementioned problem had occurred (the shopping break was probably good for that).  Ploughed through my work for an hour, then gave David moral support in the bathroom.  The new flanges don't quite cover things on the vanity, we'll need some extenders, and the old ivory gooseneck does look a little odd with the chrome finished taps.  But it does seem that the leak has stopped!  And the new taps are *amazing*.  You can turn them off with just a finger.  Bestest brother in history! :)

David changing taps

I told him he could have anything he wanted for dinner (that was practically possible) .. takeway, delivery, or I could cook anything we had in the house.  He chose the butterfly lamb roast :)  So it was a late dinner, but very nice.  Photo makes it look scary, but it was pomegranate and rosemary marinade, so looked very pink even when cooked.

Butterfly lamb roast

Saturday morning I woke up at ~1am.  Lay awake for two hours.  Got up for a while.  Still couldn't get back to sleep.  So Saturday was a zombie day.

First real fog of the year
First fog of 2020

I was too tired to concentrate on anything much.  Did a couple of loads of washing, did a bit of tidying downstairs, and a bit of time on the jigsaw (annoyingly there's places where the picture on either side of the jigsaw is almost identical, and because the cut is identical either side, you can actually put in pieces that are wrong, and it takes a bit of effort to figure out which bits are right).

I got this book when I was a little kid..

Out of Doors book

When I got to this page I literally blew on it!

Progress shot on the dungeon.  See that floor?  So can I!  First time since 2014 I've been able to see that corner.  It's been filled with Dad's slides, DVDs and records.

Oh, and I made Anzac biscuits.  Photo was a bit of an afterthought, but they were pretty awesome, and still chewy, despite looking brown in the photo.

Anzac Biscuits

Had a few drinks with EffanC before they Zoomed someone else, then had a blissfully early night (asleep by 9pm).

Going to have to call it there for now.  Need to wash my hair.  With any luck I'll finish this tomorrow :)

Thursday last week I went into work to get myself a flu vaccination.  Most of our team did the same thing so I took a Yum! Delicious! cake to share.  First step was getting a parking spot.  The mall carpark was full.  ?!?!  I was like WTF Canberra??  Why aren't you all at home?? But as it turns out the mall parking is free at the moment.  So anyone still working in the area is parking there.  Anyways, got my new laptop (I'll need to go in soon to transfer some of my personal stuff off the old one, both are still in my locker cause I just use my home computer to connect), got my jab, then packed up and headed to the mall.  I needed to go to the chemist for supplies, and to Coles for some food supplies, and the post office to post a web cam to Mum, and Dan's to pick up some wine boxes so we can fill them with books to give away (one day...), and then pick up some lunch.  The mall is probably open about 50%.  And the food court much the same.  And they've taken away or blocked off all the seating throughout the mall.  Picked up Ali Baba for the sweetie and Subway for me, then headed home.  An hour and a half later.  Sheesh.  And even though it had been over a month since I'd been there, the lady at Subway remembered my order :)  Watched Naked Gun in the evening, which I don't think I've ever seen.  OK I lied, I saw at least one of them in Junee in 2015.

This the process of making the Yum! Delicious! cake.  Recipe here.  Because my life and blog are so boring all I post is photos of food.  Hi Manish!

This was the mall.  Strangely deserted food court, and queuing at the post office started outside went down under the escalators.

It rained Thursday afternoon.  And there were rainbows!

We did more rearranging of stuff in Stu's study this week too.  I pulled out my paper craft to take downstairs, and OMFG!  It's a disaster!!  This paper ball had been in the one position for nearly two years, and it had sagged!!  Sadmaking.  Will have to try and fix it.. somehow..

Slept pretty well on Thursday night with medical assistance.  Dragged the sweetie out for a walk at lunch.

Friday night I couldn't get to sleep for hours, but still woke up at the normal time (at least no insomnia *during* the night), so pretty cranky Saturday morning.  Did lots of house type stuff in the morning.  Went for a walk up Mt Rogers with David in the afternoon.  Stu put on several episodes of Picard for David to watch.  I do enjoy the show but it's all a bit too complicated.  Well not even that, it's just that you're expected to remember the significance of something that was said a full two episodes later.  With my dementia I'm lucky to remember anything past the end of the show.  So seeing the episodes again means things make a whole lot more sense.

Had an early night Saturday and actually slept well.  Fricken hurrah.  So rare these days.  And the sweetie cleaned the toilets.  Bestest sweetie ever!!  Did an epic lamb roast for dinner.

Mornday morning I woke up at 1:10am and never got back to sleep.  Literally five hours of just lying there feeling miserable.  So zombie day Monday.  Too tired in the evening to concentrate on any photo processing, so just blogged and did the jigsaw.

Went to bed early Monday night, read for a little while, tried going to sleep around 9pm.  But couldn't get to sleep for like an hour and a half.  Woke up at 2:45 and was awake for at least two hours.  Too tired in the evening to concentrate on any photo processing, so just did the jigsaw.  Bed at eight thirty.

Tuesday night.  You'd think after two nights of very little sleep that I would fall asleep quickly.  But no.  Took ages to get sleep and then really restless til like midnight.  Sigh.  This insomnia is killing me.

Cranky day today.  Too much stoopid.  Then other people breaking things that I couldn't figure out how to fix.

So yeah, pretty crap week all up.
