I went to Daniel's today with the thought of perhaps getting more fish. I came away with two fish and another tank.
The new fish are kribs, and they could be aggressive, especially towards the betta, so I'm going to get a standby tank happening just in case.
My two black angels look very sad, especially the male (assuming he's a male). Bit worried about them, perhaps they don't like the shallow tank...

I think they like deep water myself, as well as plenty of current. I have often heard that angelfish will only lay eggs in the top half of a tank, and it's been pretty much true with mine.
I actually had some fry get to free-swimming stage in my community tank yesterday, but I didn't want them so they're fish food by now. I always feel so bad when I let them dieif only I had somewhere to sell them...
If you're trying to breed them, I have much better luck letting them spawn in the community tank and then pulling the eggs out. I have a piece of glass and a long piece of driftwood that I stand up vertically. When they lay the eggs on one or the other, I just pull that out of the tank and plop it into another with about 3/4 of the water coming from the first tank as well. It seems to prevent them getting stubborn and not wanting to mate anymore.
Just a thought or two...

Cool..
my biggest problem with putting them back in the big tank is that the tank already has two other full grown angels in it, and I'm worried that the tank really isn't big enough for the four of them.
