Day 12 - Tuesday 10 March - Victor Harbour to Kangaroo Island

Went to bed around 20:30. Went to sleep around 02:00. Sigh. And crap sleep after that too.

Awake to alarm at 6:20 so we could be out the door by 7:15. Except it was closer to 7:35 by the time we actually got going oof.

Fifty or so minute trip across to Cape Jervis and joined the queues of cars. I went and checked us in while the sweetie waited.

Eventually they started loading and I wondered how on earth they were going to fit everything in.. but they did!

Very pleasant trip across the Backstairs Passage. Sunny and calm. Even saw a dolphin!

As we were nearly last on, we were also just about the last off, which made it tricky for me to get a photo of Stu driving off as they were expecting all the passengers to be off. Whoops.

Then a quick trip to Graham and Pam's, where we sat on the balcony for a while and enjoyed the lovely view.

At 12ish we headed out to False Cape Winery for some wine and an epic cheese and crapper platter.

Then off to do some sightseeing.

First stop was Cape Willoughby lighthouse. I don't know how easy it was to go up the lighthouse last time we were here, but nowadays it's painful. We got there at the same time as a tour group, so the only lady working there was busy entertaining that group and not manning the shop. Not that it would have helped much, the only way you can go up the lighthouse now it seems is on the "history" tour (45 minutes, $19.50, 10am and 1pm) or the "express" tour (20 minutes, $11.70, 3pm). It was only 14:10 and I really couldn't be stuffed waiting around (and making everyone else wait around) so ditched that idea and resigned myself to not replicating those photos.

Then we headed up to Antechamber Bay. The view from the road in is blocked by trees now (of course). Went down to the beach though, and the river which was very pretty (and there's a new bridge!).

Then back into town to pick up some supplies from the IGA.

And back to Graham and Pam's for beer and nibbles on the balcony which was all very lovely but surprisingly hot on such a hot day.

Dinner was a lovely stir fry chicken that Pam cooked and Graham made a sauce for.

More chatting with desert on the balcony although I just wanted to collapse into bed whoops.
