Day 11 - Monday 9 March - Victor Harbour, Point Malcolm, Murray Bridge

Slept relatively well all night. Well except for the little bowel explosion in the middle.

Did my blogging in the morning and also checked my bank statements and found a "fine" from Fines Victoria which put me in a cranky mood all day. I thought maybe it was the hotel we stayed at in Melbourne which said if you parked there without paying they'd fine you. So I contacted them and got a bot reply but when I said could a human please respond they ignored me all day. I submitted an enquiry to Fines Victoria.. they said they'd get back to me within ten days. Sigh.

Out the door around 9:00 and headed up to the bluff for morning photos, which were pretty crap because it was cloudy anyway.

Then we headed down to Victor Harbour and luckily found a 3P spot straight away. We walked out to Granite Island. Or rather, after partially walking out together, I abandoned the sweetie so I could make it all the way around the island and back to Victor Harbour in time for the first horse-drawn tram to leave.

On the way out of town we stopped at Port Elliot to find one of Mum's funeral photo locations. I was tempted to get someone to get a photo of me in the same spot.. but didn't.

Stress continued with following a slow van and caravan and no opportunties to pass.

Had to wait for the second ferry across the Murray at Wellington.

And then out to Point Malcolm lighthouse. Yeah nearly two hours of driving each way to find this lighthouse. Regretting not seeing it yesterday (because it would have made it too late for us to checkin TO THIS DUMB PLACE THAT CLOSES CHECKIN AT 16:00!!).

So instead of being late to checkin yesterday we had to take four hours out of our day today, and because of that we missed out on seeing the Goolwa Barrage, which closes at 16:00. Sigh.

So we went into Murray Bridge. Where the bridge crosses the Murray. Three of them in fact.

And then back into Victor Harbour for petrol and dinner shopping, and back to the motel for GPS/photos/booking some more accommodation/blogging. And filled with rage at the place in Adelaide that seems that it won't register our booking unless I scan my licence, which I'd rather not do, because if Optus can't keep it safe I'm sure some random accommodation company sure can't.

Sigh.
