Awake from dentist time for ages.
Slow start. Stu worked on some club stuff and I wrote up notes from my health diary.
Eventually out the door well after 11.
We decided to head for Minnamurra Falls first up.
Via Jamberoo. I don't think I've ever actually been into the town before. Not that there's much there. But it was 12:00 now and Stu thought we should have lunch there. Plus, even though the Bureau of Meteorology said "no rain" in its forecast for the area, there were in fact storms passing through. With rain. Also thunder and lightning. We got to the pub just before the storm hit.
Lunch was "Pork bites" - crispy pork belly tossed in smokey BBQ sacue with paprika mayo and slaw ($14) and "Wedges" - with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce ($14). The pork bites were quite nice, but not crispy. Wedges were good too.
When we left the pub around a quarter to one the rain was well and truly gone!
On the way up the hill we stopped at "Jamberoo Lookout" which had great views over the valley.
Then we planned to go up to Minnamurra Falls.
Except.
It was closed..!! WTF?!?
"Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre and Minnamurra Rainforest Centre are both closed on Wednesday 26th November due to extreme weather and a total fire ban."
Sigh.
So we decided to go out to Carrington Falls instead. They're super spectacular! Like a 50 metre drop! Did the loop walk on the south side.
Then up to Nellies Glen but FFS all the people just standing or sitting around so I couldn't get photos without PEOPLE in them.
Then along to Warris Chair Lookout.
Then back to take a sneaky photo from the north (west) side that used to have a lookout but doesn't anymore.
Headed back down the mountain and headed for Saddleback Mountain which has some spectacular views of the coast.
And finally back to the motel to crash, a bit before five.
Had a shower (it was hot and stinky today) then did my evening routing of downloading photos, GPS, and writing up the day.
We may have gotten another double pepperoni pizza from Centrepoint Pizza, and had it while watchingh Stranger Things 4.2.
