Slept okish (well aside from getting a sore spine from the soft bed) but awake from like 5.
Usual start, and out the door around 10:00.
We decided we'd meander down the coast and see where we ended up before having enough and heading for "home".
First stop was the Kiama "Little Blowhole" which is not nearly as touristified, and today was just as good if not better than the main one! It doesn't have as much chunkiness but it has amazing height! It looks more like a geyser. Super cool! Got back to the car and it was covered in salt. Whoops.
Then we continued south.
First stop was the south end of Werri Beach at Gerringong to have a look. Didn't try and find the conference centre I'd been to before.
Then out to Black Head on Gerroa Headland.
Into Shoalhaven Heads to see a diversion of the Shoalhaven River that doesn't quite reach the ocean (unless it's flooding maybe?).
Stopped at the north side and the south side of the bridges over the Shoalhaven River at Nowra, but couldn't reproduce Dad's photo from 1961 because there's two new bridges in the way. Have I mentioned that Nowra traffic is exactly the same as Sydney traffic?
Drove past the venue of Kit and Pete's wedding on the way out to Culburra.
We had a late lunch of "fish and chips" (actually calamari, chips and salad for me, and Szechuan squid, chips and Asian salad for the sweetie) at "Fishwicks" which was pretty funny. We should have gone somewhere to eat it in front of the beach, instead we ate at the restaurant which wasn't super exciting, oh well.
Went out to Penguin Head to get a photo of the beach that Dad got in 1978. Except you can't, because fences and trees.
Then back north to see what's left of Crookhaven Lighthouse.
The sweetie had had enough by this point, and it was also clouding over, so we decided to call it and head back to Kiama. We listened to more of The Curious Kitten at the Chibineko Kitchen.
Dropped into Woollies on the way home to pick up a few supplies and dinner.
Downloaded GPS/photos then we had our dinners and watched Stranger Things 4.1.
