Day 2 - Wednesday 19 November - Narooma and Bermagui

Slept like crap. The bed was insanely soft and the pillow was probably too thick. It did squish down but I think not enough so everything was at an angle and so I just didn't relax enough to sleep.

Hurray.

Finished getting ready by 8:30 then waited around for the sweetie. Eventually he said I should go off to get a photo of Corunna Lake I'd been talking about while he finished getting ready.

So I did that. Wasn't quite the same place Dad got his photo, which might have been further south.

Came back and everyone finished getting ready then we headed up to Narooma.

First up we stopped at the cemetery to find a photo Dad had taken of the Glasshouse Rocks back in 1981. Found that which was pretty cool but didn't go down to the beach because the tide was a bit too high (and it would have taken more time out of our day).

Then through town and down to Australia Rock. It doesn't quite look like Australia anymore, and of course all the tourists have to stand in front of it. And the sun wasn't on it yet - would need to come later in the day.

But also. Seals!!!

Finally went up onto the little headland lookout.

It was after 11 by this point so we headed back to the caravan park to repack for the rest of the day.

First stop was the Wallaga Lake Bridge that we actually stopped at this time to get some proper photos. On my phone. Because I left the Canon in the cabin. Because we were going to the beach.

We also stopped at Camel Rock which was kinda cool.

Went into Bermagui and had a light lunch at the Bermagui Beach Hotel which was very nice.

Then kept going south. Had to wait for maybe ten minutes at some road works (they were doing some road resurfacing).

Also stopped at Cuttage Bridge to get a photo of the bridge (and let everyone that was behind us from the roadworks to pass us).

Arrived at the Armands Beach carpark just after 14:00 and headed down to the beach. Even on the way to the beach we were worried about the wind. It was windy. Very windy. So initially we tried to setup our little tent thing away from people. But that didn't work because the wind was blowing off the water and would have blown it away. So that was all frustrating. So we moved off to the side but it was too close to other people. And couldn't see the water. Not being able to see the water means not being able to see our stuff from the water. So that ruled me out of going for a swim. I was too cranky anyway. I didn't even feel like having one of the beers we brought - that's how cranky I was. Not to mention all the guys. No girls. Just guys. #hate. Stu went to try the water but said it was rough and cold and full of little bits of seaweed. So he didn't even go in. Bailed on the place around 15:20.

As we were crossing the Wallaga Lake Bridge on the way back it was all shiny and white in the sun so I asked the sweetie if we could stop. As we did I said, do you want to take bets on the clouds coming over as soon as I got out of the car. I literally could have bet our house on it, because guess what, as soon as I got out of the car the bridge went under cloud. I did what any sane person would do. I burst into tears. I already felt bad for ruining Stu's beach trip, and this just sent me over the edge. Sigh.

Did a little detour to Mystery Bay.

Then back to the caravan park.

We decided we'd just stay in and have beer and leftovers for dinner.

Took ages to get iMazing to talk to my phone and download all the photos.

And I'm sunburnt. Because I'm a moron. And didn't put more on.

Dinner was leftover pasta and cabbage bake I brought from home, and we watched Stranger Things 3.4.
