Friday night we went over to Serena's for a bbq. Ben and Sarah and Anita came over as well so that was a nice evening.

Saturday was alterating between jigsaw and housework and Getting Things Done. Later in the afternoon we went over to EffanC's with Scott and that was all very nice. Stu finally decided we should open the 1972 Grange Hermitage that he'd had forever, inherited off his BIL. We could tell by looking at it that the cork had died a long time ago and wouldn't be drinkable. We were right. Sad times. F cooked a beef and vegetable roll for dinner which was all very nice, and then we watched Natural Born Killers. And I'm like W.T.F. the entire way through it. hrmmm!

Sunday was more jigsaw, fitting other things in as well. Did some food shopping at Crace in the afternoon. It's actually quite pleasant to be able to park within 20m of the front entrance, and not have to deal with that nonsense that is coin-release trolleys. And there's no crowds. And they have plenty of interesting stuff too, so we may go there more often. In the evening we watched Black Hat. It was an enjoyable enough movie (especially for all the Hong Kong been-theres) but it was too high on the "yeah right" scale to make it any kind of believable.
Tonight I was having my usual Monday night stress of too much to do and not enough time to do it. Seriously, by the time I do all the things I *have* to do, I have about an hour to an hour and a half per evening to do the things I *want* to do. I spend my week *hanging* for the weekends when I can actually get more than an hour to do anything fun.
Sigh.
Friday morning got to go with Chrissie to her diagnostic ultrasound. Quite long - about forty minutes. Very very cool :)
In the evening we were both just getting ourselves organised for the weekend.
Saturday I did a day trip to Sydney to see the flat which is nearly finished being renovated.

On the way up to Sydney I passed this accident, which apparently had happened some six hours earlier. Sadly someone in a car in the oncoming traffic died. I'd like to know what happened - did the truck driver have a heart attack or just fall asleep? Got some lunch and had it at Luc and Lizzi's, then came home, diverting via Mittagong and Berrima, although I probably could have followed the diversion that had going off at Medway Road and probably wouldn't have been too held up.
Well actually I went via the club in both directions to drop off and pick up Stu. Listened to six hours of "Criminal" podcast. We watched Monsters University in the evening.

Sunday was just housework in the morning, then back out to the club again as we needed to show some newcomers around. Had a swim before coming home. Chicken dinner and Moulin Rouge! in the evening.

Today I found out before I left for work that I had a small package coming, so I worked from home so I could take delivery. Just a small package - only contains 40320 pieces..

Hence I'm sad we don't get one...
Friday night we were going to go to Chrissie's for dinner cause Aunty Di and Uncle Graham were down. But Chris was unwell, and AD and UG had gone home, so that got cancelled.
Instead a bunch of us went out to the Capital Brewery at Fyshwick for Simon's 40th, which was a great venue, pretty casual (altho no cash at the bar - only cards) and it was very pleasant evening. I didn't end up buying any food, as there kept being fries, and when I saw the size of the Brod-meals I decided not to bloat myself by eating too much! Thanks to the sweetie and Jim for lifts there/back.

Saturday was pretty much just houseworky type stuff, and a bit of food shopping. In the afternoon Serena invited us over for an impromptu barbeque which was very nice, with Kit and Pete and Ben and Sarah and Anita also coming.

Today was more houseworky stuff.
Oh and chickens. And ducks.
!
Saw a three chickens hatch, missed a duckling and two other chickens. Super epic awesome. :)
Friday night we watched The Last Samurai, which we'd last seen in 2012.
Saturday morning was just houseworkey stuff.
In the afternoon we headed out to the club. G&A did a great pork roast for dinner. Later there was epic Jenga which I didn't lose at :)

Going back a step. The other week I saw this in the window of Games Capital:

OMFG!!!
I totally want one! The price was obscured, but it looked like $500. Given that I paid $385 for the Life jigsaw (24000 pieces), this didn't seem unreasonable.
So anyway. Stu said I could get it if i could clear enough space in the dungeon to do it down there. So guess what I spent a couple of hours Sunday afternoon doing? I should have taken some before and after photos, it made a huge difference.
In the evening we got pizza and watched Short Circuit (getting through movies I've bought on DVD but haven't watched - this one I'd bought in 2004).
!!
Whoops.
So Monday morning I called the Games Capital to check if they still had the jigsaw in stock, and if so how much it was. Yes they said. $1500 they said.
Fricken. OUCH.
That's like $150 for each of the 4000 piece sections. Which, considering we paid $150 for the piece of crap 5000 colours jigsaw (which was appalling in quality and was even missing a piece! I've yet to rant about that here), is not *completely* ridiculous, but still...
Anyway, so I had a sad on Monday morning. We finished stacking Stu's books (badly) into shelves, clearing the floor and a table. I set up the tv (which we hadn't even plugged in since we replaced the upstairs one like a year and a half ago) and set myself up with a jigsaw and did that for a while in the afternoon.
I could get used to three day weekends.
Tired of never ending housework. Tired of cooking. Tired of a todo list that never gets done. Tired of mess.
Saturday I spent most of the morning getting ready and cooking for Kit's 30th birthday party. It was family-friendly for the afternoon, including pony rides!! In the evening after dinner we got picked up by the party bus for a pub crawl, stopping at The Ducks Nuts, The Durham, and PJ O'Reilly's in Tuggeranong. I had a pretty good time while some of the others got suitably silly hehe. The 80s music collection on the bus was pretty pitiful though, I struggled to find good stuff to play.
Pinky Pie pinata. There was meant to be an adults one as well but Kit ran out of time to make it.

Kit gave me the ingredients to make up this ambrosia salad. But there was so much food it never even got brought out.

Stu went as a Rubicks Cube

And I went as Classic 80s Space Guy!!!

Ponies!!

The party bus

Sunday was just housework, jigsaw etc, and I helped clean up a little bit. Kit had *heaps* of leftover food which various people including us are helping her with heh.
Saturday spent the whole day at work looking at graphs.
In the evening we went to Mishi's for a games night but ended up just chatting all night and not playing any games.
Sunday was pretty much just housework and organising stuff all day. Tried out the Casey Supabarn for something different. They have some interesting stuff there.
Today I spent pretty much all day chasing a blip.
Tonight I got through my Monday night routine that included cooking and eating dinner, cleaning up the kitchen, doing a load of washing and watching an episode of Star Trek all before 7:30pm. So I prepped tomorrow night's dinner which was done by 8pm and spent most of the rest of the evening going through a pile of crap that's been building since last year some time.
Friday night after a completely blah week Chrissie suggested drinks and takeaway. We said so long as no drama then ok. So we did that and it was quite nice.
Saturday was mostly housework and trying to sort out paperwork. Cause that's all I seem to do on weekends.
Saturday night was going to be a p0ker night but Serena was very sick and we had to cancel, so we decided to go to the movies. Went and saw Star Trek Beyond.
Sunday I mostly spent doing puzzles - nonograms and jigsaws. Went to lunch at Casey Jones with Annie and the family (food was pretty good - I had pork belly (no crackling tho) - but the service was pretty slow - they've only just opened so still finding their feet), then went back to their place for dessert and mostly did a jigsaw they'd had out for ages not getting done.

Then the little brother and Kat arrived. Had KFC for dinner (somewhat of a tradition). We finished the 1500 piece jigsaw I had out, then smashed out a 1000 piece jigsaw in the evening.
Tonight David and Kat came back cause their day at the museum finished a lot later than they'd hoped. So we did a 500 piece jigsaw. As you do.
Friday night we watched Argo. I liked it, aside from constantly thinking "did this *actually* happen?". Well the plane chase apparently didn't. heh.
Had a pretty quiet weekend. Did a lot of housework and stuff. Geotagged a few days worth of photos. Did food shopping yesterday. Watched several episodes of TOS. This afternoon I pretty much just cooked all afternoon. First up a raspberry crumble from a packet of frozen raspberries that had been in the freezer probably since I inherited them off Potty at the end of last year. Then a breakfast lasagna. Then a real lasagna (prepared but not baked yet). Had a break to have a walk at the very muddy Palmerville. Then finished up with a small roast for dinner.

The sweetie made good progress on his essay until he got a migraine tonight :(
Now we're both going to have an early night.
Friday night we had dinner with Damien and Amanda at the Dumpling Inn. That was nice to catch up with them - haven't seen them in ages.
Saturday morning we did a bunch of shopping, then headed out to the club for a Christmas in July. We got there a bit before 1:30pm, I put the pork on at 1:50pm, and spent most of the rest of the afternoon organising and preparing and cooking and stuff. Had some help chopping veggies which was nice, and some people decorated the shed so it was all quite nice. We bought a 4.8kg piece of pork. 1kg chicken roll. Lots of veggies. Made apple sauce from scratch. We came home with a chinese container of pork. People ate a lot I tells ya! Everyone seemed to have a good time so that was nice.

This is not even all the food - it doesn't show the epic potato bake or really show the carrots and peas!

Oh we also made two pavlovas and brought some fruit cake. Came home with three slices of pavlova and a bit of fruit cake. Ok I didn't *make* the pavlova, just topped it with cream and berries.

Sunday was basically just housework.
Today I tried to do my usual morning routine of scanning some photos but my computer refused to talk to the scanner :( Extremelly upsetting. Will probably have to reboot my computer and *hope* I can connect next time.
Then Ingress was a big poo due to the last buggy release which meant needing to reboot the phone, then Optus was being a poo so missed out on glyph hacking a level 8 portal. So I was having a crap day and hadn't even made it to work yet. :(
At work I'm feeling pretty useless. I'm really too dumb to be in the team I'm in. *sigh*
