Two weeks.  Whoops.

So two weekends ago was our coast trip.  On the Sunday evening, it being March 17 and all, we watched Labyrinth.  I think I may have missed doing this last year.  Whoops.

Wednesday we went to Indian Pantry with Cath.  Had a few different curries which were all very nice.

Friday we had a farewell at Malaysian Chapter, but their lunch menu doesn't have any sort of chili rating scale.  I don't mind probably "medium" spiciness, but I don't enjoy burning my mouth off.  So stuck with something a bit boring.  In the evening we watched Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which I don't think I enjoyed as much as the first one.

Saturday was a good weekend day Getting Things Done.  Did some food shopping.  Went over to R&F's with some of the N-Gang for dinner.  Which was nice until the rest of them all talked about tv shows that I'd never seen .. for like half an hour or more straight.  I got boreder and boreder.  But I did get my own back by inflicting them all with our holiday slideshow (which I got down to 600 photos).

Sunday I spent a good couple of hours processing iPhone photos.  The drama of it randomly screwing with my date stamps is still there.  I ended up writing a full page of instructions for processing all the different sorts of files it outputs, and the full six applications I use to process them all.  Also went to the Green Shed and finally got rid of a whole heap of mum and nana's Tupperware.  Made me kinda sad, but I don't use the stuff and it was just taking up space.  Came home with a card table and some jigsaws.  Did a lamb roast for dinner (yummy) and watched Discovery and Fuller House.

Monday we got home early and in the evening continued Homeland.

Tuesday I read a heap of feeds/emails, had dinner, watched an episode of tv on Netflix, burnt some dvds of photos, backed up my computer, labelled 150 photos, and finished a jigsaw.  All by 8pm.  I don't understand how some days I can get so much done, and others I can barely keep my head above water.

Friday had lunch with the Chrises and Neil.  We shared some food, so I only ended up spending $14 (still $4 more than I wanted to spend).  Watched the first episode of season three of Death in Paradise again.  The one we saw last year where Colin Frizzle turns up, but I was in disbelief it was real.  Think it was pretty far fetched as far as murders go.

Saturday burnt more dvds of photos and brought all Vic's Lego upstairs so I can work on it on my computer (my old computer doesn't have enough grunt to have five word documents open at once, and my laptop probably doesn't really either (that, and it doesn't have Office, only Open Office which sux donkey balls)).  And it's getting too cold to work downstairs now anyway.  Setup the card table next to my computer so I can pick parts and mark them off as I go.  Popped into the shops to get some supplies then headed out to the club.  Helped a bit with setup etc.  Dinner was quite nice.  Supposedly "Swedish" but just as much Finnish.  Came home so the sweetie could have a full day at home to do uni work.

Today was quiet.  And COLD.  OMFG.  I relented and turned the heater on a month early.  Just for fifteen minutes first thing in the morning to take the edge off the house.  Did some housework.  Spent entirely too much time rechecking the sets I'd picked parts for at the end of last year, because I wasn't sure where I got up to with them.  Read more of Julie Powell's original blog and watched a couple of videos on her.  Filled the green bin.  Roasted some veggies and had them with leftover lamb for dinner.  Watched Discovery.  Download and processed iPhone photos.  Blogged.

So here we are :)

Took Tuesday off because, sick.  Watched Netflix all day.  Started with the 1994 Black Beauty which was a beautiful, if sentimental, movie.  Then a documentary on the Lego House in Billund.  After lunch watched Uptown Girls because, Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning; and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.  Both were a bit silly but a bit of fun.

Wednesday/Thursday was still sick but worked from home.

Friday I went in although probably should have stayed home.

Still coughing.

Yesterday was totally a catchup day.  Spent all day scanning seventy six USA 2004 photos, and housework.  Cleaned the kitchen (twice), washed the bed sheets, put clothes, towels and other things away, replaced a light bulb, dusted and vacuumed the whole house, cleaned stuff, and booked our flights and hotel for Melbourne for Kit's graduation.  Felt like I was on my feet most of the day but still only managed 3660 steps.

We must have watched Order of the Phoenix last Sunday night.  We watched The Half Blood Prince on Friday night and Deathly Hallows Part I last night.  Also watched Peter Pan on Friday night because, Jason Isaacs.

Something learnt:  "muscle memory" is a thing!  Different to conscious memory.  Brains are cool.  (From Henry Molaison's story on Ted)

Mornings are struggling to keep housework under control.  Evenings are struggling to keep scanning and labelling and All The Things under control.

Did have a bit of a break on the weekend at least.

Friday night we watched The Circle, which we both found interesting.  However I never quite *got* Mae's character.  At the beginning it looked like she was going to get caught up in something creepy and have to escape.. but instead embraced it 100% ..?  I kept thinking she was just playing along to somehow get inside and do something against the system.. but no..   Odd movie.

Saturday morning I did almost nothing except waste time on the internet.  Which is tragic considering how little time I have.  Did a few bits and pieces and some food shopping and cooked roast pork for dinner.  In the evening we watched Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, about Dr William Marston and his life and influences with the Wonder Woman comic.  We both enjoyed it although it's likely only very loosely based on reality (if at all).

Sunday was just powering through the todo list.  The never ending todo list.  In the evening I started watching Anastasia (finished Monday night).  Even though it was all in English, and the subtitles if I'd wanted them were in English, all the credits and the "ten years later" caption were in French.  Very weird.

Where were we?  A week and a half ago..

Friday afternoon I took an early mark from work and came home and watched The Lion King while finishing off that section of the jigsaw.

Saturday was alternating between housework, photo labelling and photo filing.  Stu went to Damien's for a war game.  In the evening we went to Laziza House for dinner, which was ok.  Went back to Damien's to finish the game.

Sunday Stu went to work; Chrissie came over and we grouted one of the walls in the shower.  Also photo labelling.

Early this week I finished labelling my New Zealand photos - only took two months! (normally it takes years).  I also calculated that if I label 500 photos a week it'll take me about five years to label all my holiday photos.  Doable I think..

Wednesday I had to come home so Rheem could look at the broken valve on the hot water tank (remember I noticed it was broken one year and twelve days after the tank was installed).  The guy took one look and asked "is that all that's wrong?" heh.  Two minute job to put a new valve on (and he left me a spare in case it happens again).  *Hopefully* they don't charge me for the callout, on account of it's the second thing to go wrong with that heater in its first year.

Had dinner with the whole N Gang at Malaysian Chapter which was pretty cool.

Friday I went over to Chrissie's for gozleme for dinner.  We were going to watch a Lego movie but it got too late.

And yesterday was pretty must just cleaning and tidying the house all day, on account of having all of Stu's family over for dinner.  It was all very nice, except for Violet being super stressful jumping all over everything and everyone and touching and poking everything. Had lots of pizza and watched Austen Powers.

And so ends the first half of the year.

Yesterday we headed out to the club *first thing* which was somewhat stressful.  I spent three hours dismantling Lego while the committee meeting was on, then we all spent the afternoon in the pool which was nice enough.  Came home and watched some Enterprise.

This morning I woke up depressed because *yet another* weekend was half gone on account of the club.

Today alternated between housework and trivia night prep and Lego sorting.

Cooked some cheese and spinach stuffed chicken for dinner and watched Enterprise and the start of season six of Homeland.

And while it's a little too early for bed time, I might have a go at it anyway, on account of going to bed at nine thirty last night but then not getting to sleep til 11:30 :(

Jason

So another pretty quiet day today.  Just housework and jigsaw and food shopping.

Cooked tamarind chicken for dinner and watched some Discovery.

And then I totally needed a Jason Isaacs fix.  Looked through the dvd collection.  Considered Dragonheart but he just has a bit part in that.  Then The Patriot, but that was too long.  Next to that on the shelf was Peter Pan and I was sold.  Went downstairs to watch it while doing the jigsaw.  But you know you are captivated by a movie when you can't concentrate on your jigsaw for watching the movie.  Whoops.

This morning was super frustrating because apart from about fifteen minutes scraping old sealant off the shower, all I did all morning was housework - cleaned the kitchen, dusting, vacuuming, put away washing, did another load of washing, cleaned up the dining room, cleaned up the bedroom.  Seriously it was just boring housework and nothing actually useful.  Soo annoying.

Went out so Stu could get his degree framed, then had some lunch at Can Tho, then got some new fishies (five black neon tetras for the two foot and a bristlenose for Chrissie's tank).

Also went and saw Serkan's fish room.  It's a pretty impressive setup.  He has one big air pump that does the whole room with bubble filters in each tank.  He has a hose which fills aging tanks at the top, and they are plumbed with irrigation to all his tanks below for easy water changes.  Very cool.

Then home to do silicone sealant scraping and not much else of any consequence.

Went into the city (via Mt Ainslie) for dinner at Hero Sushi, which, like last time, was super disappointing.  Never go there when it's not crowded - all the hot food is cold and disgusting.  Then we saw The Last Jedi, which I'll save for another post.

But I did want to post these photos today.  A year ago I mentioned that after our church burnt down in the Como bushfires in 1994 I retrieved a page of one of our hymn books and a piece of the baptismal font I was baptised in.  This is them..

Friday night we finished the last episode of Voyager where they finally get home.  The last season had some pretty good episodes.  But now I'm looking forward to a break in *having* to watch an episode every night.  It just takes up so much time.  Then we watched The Tuxedo.  Because hey, Jason Isaacs, if only for a little bit.  And Jackie Chan.  Completely ridiculous fluff but a bit of fun.

Went to bed relatively early Friday night, but then woke up at about 1:30am.  And did not get back to sleep.  Til like 5:30am.  And then a couple of hours of broken sleep.  I was a complete zombie on Saturday.  I didn't have the energy to do *anything*.  Certainly no house work. I think I did about an hour or so of jigsaw and that was it.

After lunch we headed out to the club.  I helped decorate the hall while others prepped dinner.  Then we had a swim which was nice.  Fiona did a huge Christmas feast which was pretty epic.  I even managed to stay awake into the evening heh.  Came home before midnight.

Club Christmas

Slept a lot better Saturday night (although only for about six hours).  So Sunday was bits and pieces of housework, jigsaw and food shopping.  Cooked pizzas for dinner and watched an episode of The Good Place, and then Sisters.  I'd said "something fun" for a movie to watch, and that's what we got.  hrmmmmmm! :)

Last night was an even better nights sleep so that was good.  I've finished scanning the last four albums mum brought down, with only their wedding album to go.  But it's very big and all the photos are glued in, so won't be able to scan it on the flatbed, so thinking of other ways to digitise it. Probably have it outside and just take digital photos of it.

Saturday morning I had to go into work for upgrades.  It all went well but took *forever* waiting for things.  So I didn't get home til like 1:30pm or something.  Serena was there, having just gotten back from ObstaSplash with Kit.  Took her home after a while, then went to Casey Supabarn to do our food shopping.  We accidentally bought a $70 bottle of sparkling shiraz, because either someone had mislabelled it, or someone had moved it, but we thought we would be paying $20 for it.  I was *pissed* when I saw the receipt when we got home.  And then I also noticed we'd been charged eight times for six tins of tuna.  The dude had reversed one of them, but it still meant we paid for seven tins of tuna when we only got six.  Won't be shopping there again any time soon.

So got home, and made a caramel slice.  And then it was 6pm.  Time to head over to EffanC's with aforementioned super expensive sparkling shiraz and caramel slice.  R&F were there too so it was quite a pleasant evening.

But half my weekend was gone and I hadn't had any "home" time.

So Sunday we didn't leave the house.  I did a bit of housework and computer stuff and jigsaw.  Didn't get quite as much done as I would have liked, but better than nothing.  On Sunday afternoon I watched the original Beauty and the Beast, while finishing up part I of the Memorable Moments jigsaw.  In the evening I watched another unopened dvd - Dirty Dancing - which I bought from Big W for $5 - in January 2007!  Whoops.  I also watched First Flight: Secrets of the Dreamliner, about Qantas' purchase of their first 787 Dreamliner.  Very cool :)

So last Tuesday was a big Kingsley's lunch followed by me taking photos of people watching horses run around in a circle followed by a bunch of us heading back to Lachie's for darts, jigsaw (ok that was just me) and imitation Jenga (I didn't lose!)

Friday night we caught up with Kit and Pete for a while which was nice.

Saturday was pretty quiet.  Just housework and getting things done in the morning, and mostly jigsaw in the afternoon.  For dinner we went to the Dumpling Inn (which has *finally* reopened after being closed for like six months for "renovations" but we could barely notice any difference) with Chris and Mike and Zac.  We got there pretty early which meant we didn't have to wait all night for food which was good (and the place didn't fill up either, people must not realise it's reopened).

Sunday was also quiet, with housework type stuff interspersed with jigsaw.  In the evening we watched Beauty and the Beast - the live action one.  I quite enjoyed it, but not too convinced by Emma Watson as Belle, it felt like I was just watching Hermione.

And then back to it.  I've got my Sadie hat firmly on at the moment which generally makes me pretty happy.  Just puttering through work at my own pace and cleaning up mess.
