Last Saturday night I went with Tony, Frank and Karen to Herbert's Christmas in July.  Six courses, six beers.  We won't mention the couple of drinks and snackages we had beforehand.  Shh!

"One Drop" brewery filled up the taps with six different beers to pair with the six courses.

Course 1: Antipasto plate
Jamon serrano, white hungarian salami, ambrosia tilsiter, rice crackers, paired with Fire Drop Rice Lager

This was lovely - I mean it's hard to go wrong with meat and cheese.  But I saw this huge chunk of cheese and immediately regretted our decision to have snackages beforehand!  And I really liked the Rice Lager as well.

Herbert's Christmas in July

Course 2: First Entree
Roasted capsicum and tomato soup, paired with Hazy Pale

The soup was delicious and I really liked the beer.

Herbert's Christmas in July

Course 3: Second Entree
Turkey and cranberry balls, paired with Illusion Imperial Berliner Weisse

Delicious little turkey and cranberry balls, and yet another great beer

Herbert's Christmas in July

Course 4: Palate refresher
Cucumber Trio: smoked salmon / prawn & avacado / tuna salad, paired with Welcome to the Nectaron Experience

This was the best dish of the night I thought - up there with a fine dining experience, and I enjoyed the beer too

Herbert's Christmas in July

Course 5: Main
Pineapple glazed baked ham with seasonal veggies, paired with Oatmeal Stout

After all the entrees which were amazing, to be honest the mains were a little .. plain ..   Nothing wrong with them, just not super exciting.  In fact we declared defeat on all the food quite early and asked for containers to take it home in so I could enjoy it more later.  I'm not a fan of stouts, but as stouts go this one wasn't too bad.

Herbert's Christmas in July

Course 6: Dessert
Raspberry cheesecake, paired with Choc Vanilla Porter.

The cheesecake was *delicious* although I was so full I was really struggling to get through it.  But I did!!  I'm also not a fan of porters but again, this one wasn't bad.

Herbert's Christmas in July

All in all a great fun night, although as mentioned, it got rather.. loud .. !!

Sunday.  10th.  Cooked a massive tray of brussels sprouts and bacon, cauliflower and broccoli bake, and reheated some brisket in jelly.  So good.  Hardly any leftovers!  Whoops!

All the veggies and brisket

Monday.  Slept ok.  Another proxy cleaning/documenting day.  Music after work, and made honey mustard chicken for dinner.  Worked on Victoria photos - flowers and resizing the iphone panorama set - all 258 of them!  Yipe!

Tuesday.  Slept ok I think.  More proxy stuff.  Music, brisket and veggies for dinner.  Victoria photo labelling - flowers and bugs.  Started watching The Silver Brumby.  A kids film, but beautifully filmed.  The cinematography is awesome.  The lead lady character was pretty cool, although that story arc is not in the books at all apparently.

Wednesday.  Slept ok, although had *two* dreams stressing about the trivia night - both dreams I turned up in the room where everyone had already turned up but we had nothing prepared.  The second dream I was telling everyone about the dream I'd literally just had.  Salmon and cabbage for dinner.  Labelled all the Victoria panorama photos.  Then finished The Silver Brumby.  So it was a bit silly in that they had a very well groomed palomino mare playing a "silver" brumby stallion.  And to be honest it was hard to feel any sympathy for the brumbys' story - they really don't belong there anyway.  I was hoping Russell Crowe's character would win .. or at the very least get his own horse back.

Thursday.  Slept ok I think.  Another proxy day.  So for me it was pretty peaceful.  Stu on the other hand went to the dentist because he'd been in agony for a few days, and came home minus a tooth!!  Nice enough drinks.  Opened an ancient Midori Crush Neil threw out from a Christmas party a few years back.  It was fine :)

Midori Crush

The travel insurance people also got back to me - they were happy to simply cancel the old policy and reissue it with the new PDS.  Hurray!

Friday.  Woke up at 01:50 when the sweetie got up in pain.  But then stayed awake til like 04:00.  Sigh.  Had a bit of a cleaning day - mostly cleaning out my inbox(es).  Also playing with proxy settings to prevent uploads of certain files.  Kit arrived late in the afternoon.  Had drinks and pasta/mince for dinner and a lovely catchup.

Blue wine

Saturday.  Kit went out to go shopping and catch up with Katie, so I did a heap of work on my Victoria photos.  And made a lemon cheesecake.  In the evening was Christmas in July at Herbert's.  I might put that in another post.  It was quite fun, if very loud.

Lemon curd cheesecake

Sunday.  Slept like crap.  Apparently eating and drinking too much will do that to you, who knew.  Kit went out most of the day with her brother and his family.  Finished off Victoria photos, hurray!!  Did some music in the afternoon then All The Cooking.

Rainbow panorama

All The Food

Monday.  Slept ok but still woke up tired.  Did change paperwork for proxy upgrade in the morning.  Did test in the afternoon.  Test lulled us in a false sense of security that prod will be smooth too.. hrmmm.  We both cooked dinner.  Stu used some mince I cooked and made "chorizo mince", I did a cauliflower/broccoli bake and zucchini and capsicum.

Tuesday.  Ok sleep.  Spent most of the day doing further proxy cleanup and tweaking.  David has now booked his flights and the hotels for our cruise next year.  But on the same day I got an email from the cruise company noting that my credit card has expired.  I literally started feeling queasy and anxious about having to deal with them yet again.  We still need to swap out Stu for David.  I don't think I can deal with the stress of that, might need to delegate that job.

So this is what I mean about the negative discolouration.  The top sheet is from May 1983.  It has a bit of a peach tint to it, so the scans come out a little green.  The bottom sheet is from December 1994.  It's very blue, so the scans come out bright yellow.  Very upsetting.  Means I'm going to need to keep the prints for some of these when Mum carks it, because they are in better condition than the negatives. I wonder if Fuji has fared any better over the years (pretty sure she switched to Fuji at some point).

Negative discolouration

Also.  Petrol!

Epic petrol

Wednesday.  Proxy stuff.  Again.  Brisket with veggies, with some spinach Stu cooked for dinner.  Finished labelling all 719 Victoria photos ready for the blog.  Started culling other bits and pieces, like motels, flowers, bugs and other stuff.  They will have separate new posts other than the daily posts.

Thursday.  Couldn't get to sleep til way past midnight :(  Another proxy day.

Oh no, not again.  We need to give Coles a bowl of petunias.

Oh no, not again

Caught up on the whisky night from last week (Neil still had some of everything!).  Not doing it on the main night meant I also got to get them all at once so I could compare and contrast them (normally there wouldn't be enough glasses to do this).  Only half shots of all these!!

Whisky tasting

Dinner was no-carb pizza.  An idea I got from Jeff at work.  Basically you just skip the base and have a cheese pizza.  OMFG it was so good!!!

Epic cheese pizza

Friday.  Still working on proxies.  Stumpy kept me company for a whole hour in the morning.  My butt was getting sore by the end of it!

Stumpy pretzel

Had lunch at Herbert's with a couple of Chrises, a Wello, a Tony and a Glenda.  I had the pot pie this time.

Herbert's pot pie

Tv dinner for dinner and then watched Sleepless in Seattle.  Which was a given after seeing An Affair to Remember last week.

Saturday.  Woke up at 4am and didn't really get much sleep after that.  Did a Coles run in the morning.

Coles aisle nine and three quarters

Then spent most of the rest of the day trying to get organised.  I wanted to see if the travel insurance I got in November last year would cover covid hospitalisation.  According to the PDS it probably doesn't, because I had no choice but to get it because I had a credit that needed using up by December 1.  Turns out literally five days later they changed it to include covid cover.  So then I had to email them to see if I'll be covered.  Because I certainly don't want to have to get a whole new policy.  If I did I certainly wouldn't be giving THEM any more of my money.  But it also meant I couldn't do much else holiday-wise until it's sorted.

Stumpy

In my scanning during the week there were a couple of frames that scanned with mostly the correct colour balance because they were taken in caves with pure black.  Which meant pure clear on the negative.  So the scanner software kinda got the colour balance right.  So I was able to redo two whole rolls by putting the frames in those three slots.  But it was super tedious.  Salmon and cabbage for dinner, then episode three of Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Then we watched The Constant Gardener.  It was pretty good.  Except for Justin's scenes in his Nairobi house that just had *too* much of a green colour shift.  The colour just looked wrong.  Made it look like he was back in London, when he wasn't.

Sunday.  Breakfast with Tony at Little Oink.  Just me though, the sweetie wasn't feeling it.

Little Oink

Then a walk up Mount Painter (the sweetie would definitely not have liked that haha).

Then it was continued trying to keep up with life.  Put some black plastic sheeting the plumbers left behind over the periwinkle next to the lemon tree.  Hoping it'll mostly kill it.  Continued fighting with the scanner and negatives.  Even using the "correct" colour balance settings with the three frames that got it mostly right, the scans were still coming out bright yellow.  Very upsetting.  Also tidying emails and attachments, paying bills etc.  Then cooking All The Food for the next few days.

Sunday. 26th.  Backdating this on account being out the Sunday evening this was due.

Starting with the epic blue cheese potato bake I made.  I hated blue cheese for the longest time, but having it cooked adds such a wonderful savoury flavour.

Blue cheese potato bake goodness

Monday.  Went to bed nice and early, but then hurty kept me awake from 3-5 :(  Spent all day documenting proxy policies.  Leftover pork ribs and vegies for dinner.  Labelled 160 Victoria photos.  Then watched Martin Bashir's Diana interview, which in twenty five years I've never actually seen.

Tuesday.  Took a while to get to sleep - feet were cold.  Didn't achieve anything much useful all day.  Too many problems and people talking to me.  Labelled another 100 or so photos.  Then watched "The Diana Interview: Revenge of a Princess 2021" which was a documentary about the interview mentioned previously.

Wednesday.  Slept ok.  Did a bunch of test proxy cleaning.  Then dealing with more problems.  Leftovers from the club for dinner (which Stu was decidedly unimpressed with).  I might have had a sad.  Labelled another hundred photos.  Then watched Epstein's Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell (part of it anyway, finished it later).  After seeing Filthy Rich I'm so glad they went after her too.

Thursday.  Took ages to get to sleep.  Had a good morning doing proxy stuff.  Optus had a Very Bad Day in the afternoon, cutting work off from the world.  I hadn't gone into the office on account of all the covid floating around, so had a couple of drinks with the sweetie in the evening, including my own little whisky tasting, on account of missing the work one.

My own whisky night

We watched the first episode of Obi-wan Kenobi which wasn't bad.  Then I watched The Man from Snowy River.  Such a glorious Australian film.  Don't think I've seen it in years though.

Friday.  More proxy work.  Made "special fried rice" for dinner which was qute nice.  Then watched An Affair to Remember.  I've been wanting to see this movie for ages because of its references in Sleepless in Seattle.  I probably should have not wasted a couple of hours of my life on it.  It was pretty silly.  And dumb.  Like Ken is the sweetest guy ever, even standing by her and taking care of her even though she admitted an affair and wanted to leave him.  Why would you give up someone like that to run off with someone who's a playboy and has already proven his willingness to cheat and run off with someone else??  Stoopid.  But what was funny about it was they agreed to meet on July 1st.  Which just so happened to be the night we watched it.  Synchronicity!

Saturday.  Tried to tidy the pantry in the morning because we keep losing stuff in there.  Then did some food shopping at the markets and chemist.

Yikes!
Epic petrol

Stu was sad the markets fish is in pieces (I think this thing was in the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony).  They might still be planning to put it back.
Belconnen olympics fish

Then spent most of the rest of the day cooking.  hrmm.  Put on a brisket first, then made up a breakfast lasagna for the sweetie, and also cooked up a bunch of chicken.  And all the veggies.

These things are so good - just cream cheese and fried bacon bits rolled in chives.  So simple but so tasty!  Had to hide them so the sweetie wouldn't eat them all ;)
Cheese and bacon balls

Breakfast lasagna I made for the sweetie

Brisket and veggies for dinner.  I might have served myself way too much meat.  Whoops.
Brisket and veg

Watched A Clockwork Orange in the evening.  Strange strange movie.  Although not as disturbing as the book apparently.

Sunday.  A bit of fish stuff, but mostly Lego counting and scanning.  Scanning is being problematic now.  I'm getting through more rolls because I'm not scanning everything in them.  But it does mean it's more hands on which I don't have the time for during the day (when doing a whole roll you stick two sheets in at a time and come back half an hour later to swap them out.  But I don't really have time to sit and choose which ones to scan and swap them out more often).  The other problem is that the negatives from 1994 have started to go very blue.  Which means they scan bright yellow.  hrmmm.

Finally got to try out drinks at The Howling Moon, a lovely rooftop bar with great views at sunset.

Couldn't be stuffed blogging when I got home, and then the week kicks in and it's all too hard...

Tuesday.  31st.  Last day of autumn.  Slept ok.  I think.  I forget.  Went to the chemist after work and accidentally got KFC on the way home.

Wednesday.  1st June.  First day of winter.  And hoooooooh boy it felt like it.  There was snow on the Brindabellas which we saw glimpses of on the way to work, but didn't get any photos.  Stoopidly crazy busy morning and it's just fricken *noisy* in the office and everything was happening at once and my brain couldn't deal.  But some of the noise went away and I went DND for a bit and got some things done and felt better in the afternoon.  It was COLD in the house when we got home!

Getting a bit silly

Thursday.  Still very cold.

Pretty sky over Belconnen

Doing my own thing mostly all day which was nice.  Drinks and body corporate meeting after work.  Had Mills and Grills pickup for dinner which was nice enough, we haven't had them in ages.

Friday.  Woke up a bit early because of hurty.  Went and saw The Queen and Me exhibition after work (which I'll post separately.  One day.).  But here's a pic of my salt and pepper squid at Badger & Co.

Badger and Co salt and pepper squid

Saturday.  Had a sleep in which is pretty unusual for me.  Firewall migration in the morning.  Then mostly Lego all day.  Sausages and cabbage for dinner then watched The Imitation Game.

Count rocks they said.  It'll be fun they said.
BURPs

Sunday.  Today.  Food shopping in the morning.  Then tried to catch up on house stuff and photo stuff and blog stuff.  Mostly failed.  On account of spending too much time doing Lego and most of the afternoon cooking.  Oh well.

Wherein we saw Woronora Dam, Lego Jurassic World by Ryan "Brickman" McNaught, The Australian Museum and St Mary's Cathedral.   (backdated)

Sunday.  8th.  Cooked a lovely basa bake, and a gorgonzola bake which I'll post separately (one day!)

Basa blue cheese bacon bakes

Then watched more of The Crown.

Monday.  Kept waking up with numb hands, and even legs!!  Mostly my arm median nerve but even radial and ulnar nerves.  So frustrating!!  At least it's just numbness not pain.  Fighting with all the stoopid during the day, mostly microsoft crap.  Also had some of the cheesecake I made Sunday (wherein I forgot the gelatine, but it still set well enough because of the cheese).

Lime cheesecake sans gelatine

It was definitely a wine and candle kind of an evening after all the nonsense at work.  Had pesto pasta for dinner.  Did some photo culling and watched Lego Masters.

Pesto pasta

Tuesday.  Slept somewhat better.  Fighting with certificates on one of our devices, but all the fighting was because of our assumptions that another team had done work that in fact hadn't been done.  But we did learn some stuff so that was useful.  Ended up finishing late.  So late that I just felt like a tv dinner for dinner.  Lego Masters and photo culling.

Wednesday.  Took an RDO on account of having to work last weekend and this weekend.  OMFG it was amazing.  I had such a productive day.  I made a list of all the crap I really needed to do but just don't feel motivated to do on weekends.  And the proceeded to do it!  There was a whole heap of cleaning and tidying and also photo stuff and weeding and even some Lego part picking.  I setup the scanner on my old computer since Microsoft is a big fat poo and Windoze 11 sux donkey balls and is refusing to allow the scanner to work in windoze 11 (EVEN THOUGH IT USED TO WORK!!!).  Got back into scanning of Mum's negatives.  It was a pretty awesome day.  Cooked creamy mushroom chicken pasta for dinner (with chicken I dug out of the freezer).

Creamy mushroom and chicken pasta

Thursday.  Woke up at 3am (from hurty) but then never got back to sleep.  So zombie day. Fairly busy drinks.  Let the sweetie get pizza.

Dude what? It's autumn and cold! Why are you eating my mail??
Autumn snail

Friday.  Woke up at 2:45am (from hurty).  Did get more sleep but it was fairly broken and restless.  Spent the morning planning routing cleanups and writing up change paperwork.  Did some reports for another team on some of our devices.  Then doing All The Rulez for another team.  Chicken Kiev for dinner.  But then we had an epic crisis and couldn't decide what to watch.  We didn't feeling like watching anything the other wanted to.  So I spat the dummy and put on Gladiator.  But it's such a good movie that the sweetie hung around and watched it anyway :)

Chicken Kiev and veggies

Saturday.  Slept ok.  Woke up early and went and did a big food shop.  Then mostly Lego part picking.  Logged in to do a prod change.  Change itself worked perfectly (four ping drops) but the preparing and testing took up most of an hour.  Had a play with basebrick (I tried to register the other week but my hosting is dumb and sometimes never delivers mail for reasons unknown, so I signed up with my gmail).  Salmon and cabbage for dinner.  Then Simpsons/Black Books/The Crown.  Then the dead drive in my old computer started squeaking which was super annoying so had to turn it off.

Salmon and cabbage

Sunday.  Slept fairly well.  Turned the old computer on with a vision of disabling the broken drive in bios.  But it started squeaking straight away.  So turned it off again.  Will need to physically disconnect it.  Poop.  Mostly Lego inventorying all day. Then music and All The Cooking.

Pesto

I've had basil growing outside and inside all summer, but it's going to flower now and time to finish it up.  What to do with a glut of basil?  Pesto!!

I took this recipe from simplyrecipes.com

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed (a great big handful of whatever I picked)
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (who measures this crap?)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup pine nuts
3 cloves garlic, minced (I may have used four or five)
1/4 teaspoon salt, or more to taste (I just plonked in this amount but didn't taste)
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste (same)

My pesto

My pesto

So you use a food processor to blend the basil and pine nuts, then add the garlic and cheese (and salt and pepper).  Then slowly add the olive oil (supposedly to emulsify it).  Make a sloppy mess.

Pesto goop

All the garlic made it quite intense.  Yum!!

My pesto

Sunday.  Mayday.  The lemon potato bake I did was ok, but a bit undercooked and very watery.  Watched last Sunday's Lego Masters.

Monday.  Got to sleep ok but then woke up some time after 3 and never got back to sleep.  Sigh.  Learnt some networking stuff about some of our devices which was good.  Leftovers for dinner.  Finally emailed the cruise company and got them to apply our credit to an obstructed window room.  Completely grumpy about the whole thing.  But I certainly didn't want to give them any more of my money.  Pretty sure there were other things I wanted to talk about for Monday but didn't write them down straight away so forgot.  Oh well.

Such a sweet little daisy, but it will be getting ripped out soon.  These things pop up in any crevice they can find, this one in the middle of the pavers in the back yard.  They still make me smile though.

I had to laugh at Andrew and Crystal being clapped out, because this is exactly what we did at my cousin Andrew and Crystal's wedding :)
Andrew and Crystal clap out

Had to go sleep in the other room because Stu's back was killing him and he was literally screaming in agony every time he moved.  Poor thing (it's somewhat better now though).

Tuesday.  Slept ok in the other room, in fact slept through til my alarm went off.  Documenting routing setup on some of our devices.  Cooked up a big batch of veggies to go with leftover burek.  There was potato, sweet potato, parsnip, zucchini and a veggie bake of cauliflower, carrots, parsley, peas, corn, cream and cheese.

Burek and all the veggies

Wednesday.  Slept ok until the smoke detector battery started bleeping around 5:30 due to low battery.  Had a crazy and frustrating day.  Why is it I get a couple of days in a row of being able to do my own thing and tinker around and do doco, and then everything happens at once and everyone wants everything at once and I'm in the office which makes it five times as bad.  Spent pretty much the entire day gathering evidence to prove that another team's problem is in fact their problem and not ours.  I even had a beer when I got home (which was super late).  Stu heated up some of the pesto I made on the weekend and we had it with some buffalo ricotta, porcini and truffle ravioli.  To which I then added a big pile of shaved parmesan cheese ;)  But then it was like bed time.

My pesto with pasta

Thursday.  Another crazy busy in the office manic day.  Hate.  Good drinks (although once again we were only one of two tables).  KFC for dinner then bed.

Friday.  Woke up some time after 1am and didn't get back to sleep til maybe about 4:30, and then broken sleep waking up every few minutes because my hands were numb.  So I was a bit of a zombie, but being at home meant far fewer distractions and got a bunch of work done which was good.  I reheated the lemon potatoes from the weekend, which browned up the potatoes nicely and then added the sauce after, which turned out a whole lot better.

Lemon and tomato potatoes redux

Watched the fourth episode of The Crown and last Sunday's Lego Masters.

Saturday.  At work all day doing stress testing of stuff.  Went quite well (Connor kept it perfectly on schedule) and really only stuff we were expecting to break did in the ways we expected it to as well.

I only had to bring home two of these as leftovers ;)
All the pizza

Stu made slow cooker pea and ham soup, without the ham, for dinner.

Pea soup

Then watched The Royal Tenenbaums.. which was.. strange...

Sunday.  Lego inventorying and part picking.  Chopped back some ivy growing on the side of the house.  Turns out the stuff is quite evil, and really really hard to prise off the wall.  Not helped by not having nearly a long enough ladder.  Also trimmed the hedge out the front.  Then cooking All The Food.  Except it was 3pm by this point and I was freaking out about how much I had to do to have dinner done on time.  I made a lime cheesecake, but forgot to mix in gelatine because I'm retarded.  Also a basa bake and a new potato bake recipe, which will get its own post eventually.  At least I managed to process photos and blog before 6pm...

Monday.  25th. Spent all morning trying to catch up with life and blogging.  Feeling completely overwhelmed at life (even had a bit of a meltdown after blogging (which finished way after lunch) because it was all too hard).  Worked on Eurasia panoramas and got some online.  Cooked a lamb roast with veggies for dinner.  We opened a *very* nice bottle of wine we got at the end of 2012 for our anniversary.  Then Simpsons/Black Books/The Crown.  Also started into the fourth season of Lego Masters.  Had to LOL at the Andrew and Crystal couple (names of my cousin and wife who have since split up).

We had tardigrades for dinner!!
Tardigrade

Really nice bottle of wine

Tuesday.  Woke up to stress over cruise (the one we put off).  They want us to use the credit so got plunged into the stress of it again.  Ok day.  Nothing special for our anniversary because Stu had uni til quite late.

Wednesday.  Stress over cruise.  They refused to allow us to use the credit for 2024, forcing us to use it for 2023.  *sigh*.  Ok day.  At the office.  Felt like a Thursday.  Stu cooked pork larb for dinner with some limes from Tim and chilli from Tony.  Continued to stress over cruise.

Pork larb

Thursday.  Ok day.  Pretty quiet drinks.  Picked up some CCs on the way home and had cheesy nachos for dinner.  OMFG the most unhealthiest dinner in the history of the universe but *so good*.  Finished season 23 of The SImpsons.

Nachos

Friday.  Playing with logs all day.  Was actually kinda fun.  Leftover lamb and veggies for dinner.  Watched Encanto in the evening which was pretty decent.  Nice story and the graphics are spectacular.

Saturday.  House stuff in the morning.  Stressed over the cruise to the point of depression.  To get a balcony like we had last time would cost us another $1500 USD, which I'm simply not prepared to give them.  I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER deal with this company again.  I was almost at the point of saying F#$% you and walking away from what we've already paid.  The best I can afford with our credit is a window (not a balcony) with an obstructed view.  After tidying up the house and study I thought I'd start inventorying what was left of Vic's Lego.  I had a poke around to see what was available, and one that looked really good was Basebrick.  Except they said they'd send an email to verify the account.  Except that email never arrived.  *sigh*.  So more "everything is awful".  So I started inventorying in excel in the interim.  Sichuan Chinese for dinner then watched The Death of Stalin .. which was.. intersesting.. heh

Sunday.  Woke up early (between 5:30-6:00 is normal now).  Remembered the planets and went and had a look.  This morning Jupiter and Venus were having a sneaky early morning kiss.  I couldn't be stuffed finding the tripod and going outside in the cold, so just did some hand-held photos.  This is off the phone.  Haven't downloaded the camera yet.

Jupiter Venus kiss

Went out fairly early and had breakfast at Market St eats.  I had "Potato Fritters" - potato and cheese fritters, poached eggs, maple glazed bacon, hollandaise, chorizo, pickled cucumber & onion salsa.  Which was really really good.  The poached eggs were perfect, the fritter was delicious.  It was just like eggs benedict but with a croquette instead of bread.  Although the salsa was basically just some chopped red onion.  Kept me going til dinner time ;)

Market St Eats fritters

Then we did food shopping and had to wait for Chemist Warehouse being buttheads.  We both put our orders in early while still at home before their opening time.  They open at 9:00.  I got my SMS at 9.39.  We went and picked mine up at 10:30.  They said Stu's order was still in the queue and would be another "ten minutes".  We waited and waited and eventually he went in and was able to pick his up at 10:55.  He got his sms at 11:15.  Absolutely ridiculous that it takes ALL MORNING for them to be organised enough to do an online order.  If it wasn't for the fact that they're *significantly* cheaper than anywhere else we certainly wouldn't bother with them.

Came home and did Lego inventorying, then music then weeding then fish stuff and suddenly it's 4pm and I need to do All The Cooking.  Which I'll save for later posts and sign off for now.
