On Friday night I came home feeling a bit depressed because instead of being able to relax I had to do housework, because I have no other night to do it :/
Saturday morning I went the opposite direction to my usual weekend drive - this time to Junee to visit the little brother. I asked Google Maps where to go, and it sent me off the Hume at Jugiong and up to Cootamundra. It was a nice drive, although the roads weren't the best. And canola sure is yellow.

David's house is very nice. But smaller than their place at Picton, which could make things .. *interesting* to try and fit it all in.
We rearranged some furniture and I sorted out his blurays and put them in a cupboard, and just hung out. Watched the election coverage until we got too depressed, then watched Deathly Hallows on tv.
I woke up at 6:20 as per usual and couldn't get back to sleep. Hung out doing puzzles on the lounge room floor (no lounges yet).
Just before lunch went and looked at one of Junee's tourist attractions - the licorice and chocolate factory. But we were (David was! ;) ) running late so didn't get much of a look. Got some white chocolate rocky road (although almost didn't because the service was pretty slow and we were late for lunch).

Then to lunch at the Junee Hotel for their $10 Sunday roast - pork - yum! Didn't need dinner (I might have had a couple of slices of bacon, shh don't tell anyone).

David went off to work, and I came home.
Felt a bit lost when I got home. Tired and feeling like I really need a whole weekend at home. Was feeling pretty blah tonight (it's Sunday after all), so Stu suggested putting on some music. So I put on some John Williams, because that always cheers me up. Used the hour to get my blog more or less up to date.
Well not for Stu anyway ..
Yesterday morning was a pretty slow start. Got out the door eventually and went to This Cafe in Gungahlin for brunch. I had eggs benedict, which was reasonable (although the bacon was on the side which was a little odd). But we were sitting by the door, which didn't close properly, and let a gale in every time someone came through, until the sweetie leaned over and closed it. Most irritating.

Went out to Wintercon at EPIC and had a look around.
Then did our food shopping and came home.
I did a bit of cleaning of PVC goo with acetone in the afternoon.
After dinner we went over to Annie's for a while to catch up.
This morning I got a bit of housework done in the morning.
Then Stu got a phone call from Annie. She'd fallen (in Sydney - she'd gone there to take the kids to the zoo) and wanted to come home but couldn't drive. So the sweetie flew up to Sydney to rescue her. He even got to go in one of Virgin Australia's itty bitty little planes. Slightly jealous heh.
In the meantime I tidied up the laundry which has been a disaster lately.
Dinner was pea and ham soup that the sweetie had put in the slow cooker before he left. It was pretty good.
On Friday night Fiona arrived in town. We had some muscat and chatted for a while before bed.
Saturday morning we went into Braddon and met up with @chrispycon at Sweet Bones for brunch. They had some nice cupcakes and Fiona got us some nachos as well. Was good to see Chris again, it's been too long.

We left Fiona to her own devices for a while and came home and listened to the #Classic100 and did some housework. Got some takeaway Dumpling Inn for dinner. We started watching Dark City but we kept talking and missing stuff, so decided to put on Labyrinth because then it wouldn't matter if we talked over the top of it. That, and we could admire Jareth's bulge ;)
Sunday morning we chilled out and listened to the #Classic100 while Fiona went off to the markets. In the afternoon/evening we went to the Roller Derby which was a lot of fun.
This morning we went to Black Pepper for brunch. Then home for a while before Fiona left for home.
Tonight (after being inspired by the #Classic100) we watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
So quite a lovely weekend, with a nice mix of socialising and down time (letting me do lots of photo sorting!), and it was great to catch up with Fiona again.
Saturday was still feeling a bit blah, but by the afternoon was starting to feel better. Did our food shopping and in the evening we went over to Mishi's for a games night. As usual most of the night was chatting over food, but we did end up going and playing some Fluxx and Monty Python Fluxx. Damien won several games, and Geoffrey and Liam won a game each as well.
Today was feeling more back to normal (still a lot of phlegm) and was actually up to doing some housework. But otherwise it was a pretty nothing day.
And so that's the end of that..
Had a pretty quiet morning. Did a bit of computer stuff (not as much as I needed to), some housework (again not as much as I needed to) and some jigsaw.
Mid afternoon we dropped off our worm farm to my boss' boss' boss' boss' boss before heading out to the club. Which turned out to be a thoroughly pleasant. A small bunch of the regulars were there, including Chris and Geoff so that was lovely.
Tonight I might have watched Die Hard 4, but it was forty minutes late starting (presumably pushed back by the Grand Prix) so I didn't bother.
Between about 9am and 5pm I had a strict half hour day. Half an hour of jigsaw, half an hour of housework, half an hour of computer stuff. So a busy day, a clean house, a mostly empty news feed and 2012 year in review written. If anyone cares, there's a few entries from the end of December you may not have seen.
This afternoon had carpet cleaners come by to clean this enormous space
They said this was an easy job, as they usually have to move furniture around. So they did the lounge/dining/study/hall/bedroom in half an hour!
Then ploughed through my Monday night housework.
Paid some bills.
Backed up my computer.
And did my tax.
Yeah so I've been a bit lazy keeping up with the blogging. Sorry for spamming your feed readers with all the entries at once ;)
Today was super quiet. I did a little housework, played some flow, did some UK photo sorting. We also finished our Lord of the Rings watching, with The Return of the King. And only did 795 steps. Disaster ;)
Home all day doing housework (the sunlight was calling me to do some washing), UK photo sorting, and trivia night planning. Out tonight to Mishi's for a games night. Bit smaller than usual. Played some Carcassonne (came second), Seafarers of Catan (came second) and Pictionary (came first with L, although game was declared early cause everyone was tired).
Eighteen months ago today we picked up our hire car and left London. Stopped first at Runnymede to see the Magna Carta memorial, then went and saw Harry's house from Philosopher's Stone, Henley on Thames for a beer, and out to Leavesden to see where Harry caught the Knight Bus and see the outside of Leavesden Studios.
So had a pretty decent weekend. Went out for brunch yesterday morning - into Civic and tried "Cafe Garema" which used to be "My Cafe" (which had given us pretty appalling service once so hadn't been back). I had eggs benedict (my favourite cafe breakfast) which were pretty good.
The rest of the weekend alternated between doing this jigsaw (5 hours, 37 minutes worth) -
and lots of housework, gardening (whoever had the idea to graft ornamental cherry trees onto aggressive root stock should have been shot), photo sorting, "life" paperwork, and finishing my lifetime list of flights (I've been on eighty planes in my life! (a few repeats)).
Cooked a heap more veggies for dinner tonight - a riot of colour! Had a small amount of leftovers.
Capsicum, zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, carrot, potato, sweet potato, with fresh oregano and rosemary, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.. yumm!
