A lovely late autumn afternoon along the Murrumbidgee River at Tharwa Sandwash. I saw a few new things for me today so that was pretty cool.
We think this is a grey shrike-thrush
Some Pacific black ducks in the river
This scarlet robin popped up right in front of us as we were eating lunch
Stu took this - we think it's a female golden whistler
Stu got this photo of a juvenile? female? scarlet robin
This Australasian darter was pretty cool
I fluked this shot of a white-browed scrubwren
I've seen golden whistlers before, but they're so shiny!
Stu got some great shots of this eastern yellow robin (mine were all out of focus)
We originally thought this was another golden whistler, but a Google search says it's a rufous whistler
