Had to go to an appointment on Friday, and on the way home we went up to the Mount Stromlo Leisure Centre so Stu could check out the place. And also saw the Big Crane.
They have a "viewing area" setup out the back of Whitlam, although the view isn't as good there as it is further back. They do have some info boards though.
Ended up going back to the better spot, and walked down closer to it
