For our anniversary this year the sweetie took me out to dinner to Temporada in Civic. They brought us the menu but then said we could do the chef's special, which was seven courses chosen by the chef, for $80pp. Sounded good to us, so that's what we did. Not that what they brought out was actually on the menu we saw. Some stuff was, other stuff was on the online chef's menu, or the online dinner menu, which was different again to the paper menu we got at the beginning. Shrug.
Starting with bread and olives. Those olives were delicious and the bread was very soft, a lot softer than you'd expect for a dark bread. These featured on the online chef's menu.
Next up was "gruyere fritters". Crunchy and cheesy and yummmm. Not found on any of the menus, but closest was found on the paper menu we got.
Anchovy toast (one's missing because the sweetie had already grabbed it). I hate anchovies so Stu had mine off the top, the rest was nice enough. Again not featured on any of the menus. Closest to the online dinner menu, but this had lettuce hearts or something, not tomato and olives.
Straciatella, probably off the online dinner menu. This was cold, I think I would have preferred it warm (if you're going to have gooey cheese it should be warm, my opinion ;) ).
Kangaroo tartar (sorry for the blurry photo). This was on our paper menu, although not sure if it had horseradish? Think I would have noticed that. Quite nice, and I ended up mixing some of it with the straciatella which improved both dishes I thought.
Ricotta tortellini, found on both our paper menu and the online dinner menu. Delicious, as testified by all that lovely oil ;)
Beef flat iron, found on our paper menu. So awesome!
Broccolini with mallorquina butter, also found on our paper menu. That "butter" was great on the broccolini.
White chocolate mousse, not found on any of the menus. A lovely end to the meal.
We really enjoyed the meal, although it's very expensive (just looking at the prices of individual dishes hurts haha). Good for a special occasion though.
