In the week after the 1994 Como bushfires, twenty three years ago this week, excavators moved in to knock down unsafe walls from burnt out buildings. Here's some photos Dad got of the process.

Dad took home several car loads of bricks and used them to make a path in the front yard of our house.

These are great photos to have kept all this time. Do you have a pic of the front walk of bricks your dad made?

Those machines made short work of demolishing the buildings.
I think the brick paths were to walk between parts of his fern production in the front yard. They were eventually pulled up to make mowing the lawn easier.

Don't know that there's any photos of that path. I had a look through my photos but couldn't find any. There might be some in mum's photos that I haven't scanned yet.
