Day 6, Wednesday 14 May
Slept mostly ok. We found a whole heap of niggling issues with this hotel. Nothing particularly major but enough to make you wonder if they know how to run a hotel. Things like no tissues in the room, no guest information book, nowhere to hang up towels. Also the toilet paper is practically unreachable, so we're using a roll just sitting on the sink. And there's no topsheet, just a rather rough blanket. Weird.
I'm definitely sick too which sux. Runny nose this morning. Yay.
Our main event of the day was going to Ephesus. This place was quite crowded - we have been totally spoilt by places like Laodicea which are just as good but deserted. Ephesus did have some cool things like the intact latrine, the Celsus Library, and the theatre mentioned in Acts 19.

It was late morning by now, so we headed out to have lunch in a very pleasant setting among the trees behind a weaving school.

After lunch we were shown many hand-woven Turkish rugs. Some of them, especially the all silk ones were beautiful, but I didn't see any that would have any practical use at home.

And back to the hotel by 4pm. I would loved to have chillaxed by the pool with a glass of bubbly, but instead came up to download photos, blog, and I still need to wash my undies. Boring. Still, it's still an hour and a half to dinner, there might still be time.
So I did end up going down for some wine before dinner. Nothing particularly inspiring at dinner, then came back to the room and went to bed.

Oh, and I went to reception to ask for tissues, on account of this room not having any, and they went .. er.. no tissues.. They sent me to the bar and the dude went into the restaurant to get some serviettes. I'm not sure they're any better than the toilet paper actually.
