Day 17 - Sunday 15 March - North shore beaches

Slept mostly ok. Was checking my bank statements for holiday spending and found some more suspicious transactions on my credit card. This time they were for a couple of DoorDash things (Aldi and Ozzie Kebabs). I don't even *have* a DoorDash account. So I put my credit card on hold and called the bank and they said to dispute the DoorDash ones they'd have to cancel the card completely. So this is a major pain in the @$$ when you're travelling. Fortunately the next couple of places are paid for already and we can use Stu's card to pay for things (or my other bank card if I can remember the pin).

Out the door a bit before 10.

Went into Kingscote so Graham could put diesel in the ute (275.9 c/L .. fricken ouch). Then the boys got some takeaway coffees from So Sandos.

First beach of the day was Stokes Bay. The car park is in a rocky bay, but you walk through the rocks to get at the beach proper, which was very nice but also quite crowded.

Second beach as King George Beach. This is another rocky beach, but you can't get to the real beach because you'd have to go through private property.

On the way down to Snelling Beach we saw a wedgie taking off next to the road which was pretty cool, but didn't get a photo. We had lunch at the picnic spot at Snelling Beach (Pam made another amazing salad) then I got to drive down on the beach which was a bit of fun. Stu also saw some hooded plovers which he was very excited about.

On the way out we stopped to get a photo looking back down over the beach and river.

Our final beach was Western River Cove. We scared a goanna at the picnic spot, but then got some good photos of it. I went one way but Stu went another, and he got a great shot looking out of a cave. Even Dad didn't get a shot like that.

Drove around Parndana for a bit of a looksee.

Also stopped at Kohinoor lookout.

Then it was just driving back to the house.

We finally had time to have nibbles and drinks on the deck which was lovely.

And we had some amazing pizzas for dinner.

Then collapsed into bed.
