Monday.  15th.  Couldn't get to sleep til past midnight.  Sigh.  But then slept ok.  But still feeling tired and depressed and *dumb*.  All the crap at work.  Leftover beef and veggies for dinner.

This long exposure on the phone makes the clouds in front of the ISS look like an oil painting..

Tuesday.  Couldn't get to sleep for ages on account of cold feet.  Then woke up before 4 and never got back to sleep.  Sigh.  Ok day.  Went into the office and got a flu jab.  Proxy stuff and some migration planning.  More leftover beef for dinner.  Finished culling day 12 of Turkey (which took *forever* on account of having to cull over a thousand photos down to 50.. hmmm!!).  Made a good start on day 13 (the last day) too.  At one point I heard a rather metallic clunk coming from the kitchen as the fridge was turning off.  hmmmm.  Sure enough, the next time the compressor started it made a generally louder noise than normal.  So put a thermometer in the fridge to make sure it was still working properly, and started looking at replacement fridges.  Sigh.

Wednesday.  Ok sleep.  The fridge was still happily sitting on 3C in the morning, so while the compressor is loud, it's still doing its job.  But for how long..?  Did some testing of some reworks to some of our rules to the new version of things not supporting stuff the same way.  Basa bake and veggies for dinner.  Must.  Eat.  Freezer.  And fridge.  At least with fridge stuff we do have the spare downstairs we could use in an emergency.  But the freezer.. that would be a pain.  But I really don't want to go spending two thousand dollars on a new fridge while the old one is still functional.  It could go on like this for years for all we know (ask anyone who's heard our washing machine during its first drain).

Basa bake and veggies

Thursday.  Took forever to get to sleep.  More work on the excludes problem, as well as a task closing party.  Jim did a lovely morning tea so we didn't need lunch, but Neil, XL and I went for a walk at lunch anyway which was nice.

Geocon water race

Geocon buildings in Belconnen

Super quiet drinks (bar tender didn't bring all his friends this week).  Pizza, Mash, and into season 9 of Death in Paradise.  It's a bit of fluff that show but I don't know that many of his solutions would stand up in court.  Half the time it's completely speculation and no real proof, other than a confession (which also wouldn't necessarily stand up).  Early night.

Friday.  Got to sleep ok but then restless legs for ages in the middle of the night and woke up at ~4.  Proxy testing in the morning.  Did a change in the arvo that I don't think broke anything, winning!  Herbert's for happy hour.

Must be Mother's Day soon..
Chrysanthemum

A rare shot of Dino without his hat (I wasn't even trying, I was trying to get the beer lineup and he jumped in the way haha)
Dino with no hat

Saturday.  Awake for a while in the middle of the night but not too bad.  Had a super busy day doing All The Things and got heaps done - pretty much everything I had on my todo list for the day.  So that was pretty cool.

So cool!
Praying mantis

Waiting impatiently for these things to ripen before the first frost...
Waiting impatiently

Into season 5 of Mash, then Orville 3.6 which was pretty emotional and had a bit of a Back to the Future vibe to it.

Sunday.  Took ages to get to sleep but then slept ok.  Spent most of the day Lego part picking for Vic's Lego.  Very slow going due to basically having to go find one piece at a time then mark it off as deleted from the loose part inventory.  Think like a minute or so for each and every piece.  hmmmm.  There was also the dog barking for like an hour (probably from the same d$*#head neighbours that have always had barking dogs).  I felt so stressed.  Sigh.  Also did a bit of food shopping in the afternoon.

Today's blog entry quote is from Autism From the Inside's channel.  Watched a couple of his videos yesterday.

Another roast beef in the oven.  I generally try to avoid buying big chunks of beef (chicken and pork and even lamb are generally better for the planet than beef) but Stu likes it so there's that..

Sunday.  31st.  Had tuna casserole and veggies for dinner.

Tuna casserole

Then Mash and the first episode of Shogun.

Then got all kinds of depressed cause I didn't get invited to Herbert's birthday on Friday night, and noone told me that the tickets for the Canberra Airport Open Day had come up while I was away, and had "sold out".

Monday.  April Fool.  Yeah that's me.  Took til past midnight to get to sleep because of feeling blah.  Did some weeding and scattered some purple poppy seeds around the garden, but not fully transfunctionating and too brain dead to concentrate on anything much.  I did finish geotagging photos from Tassie though.  Sausages and frozen veggies for dinner.  Watched Mona Lisa Smile which had vibes of Dead Poets Society but for girls.

First fog

Fog web

Tuesday.  Slept ok.  Nothing much day, leftovers from fridge and freezer for dinner.  Also got an email saying I'd come up on the standby list, so got myself a ticket for the Canberra Airport Open Day.  Messaged David and he was able to get one too.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly ok.  Nothing much day, did a bit of decom work planning.  Met up with Stu and Dennis after work then had Kinn Thai for dinner.

Demolition in Civic
Gus' demolition

Chicken pad see ew, chili jam crispy pork, roti
Kinn Thai

Then backing up holiday photos.

Thursday.  Nothing much day.  Gin night at drinks.  Well not really, they had it a month or so ago while I was in Tasmania.  But there were plenty of leftovers so had a half shot of each.  Pizza for dinner then Death in Paradise 8.7.

Gin night

Friday.  Since I wasn't invited to the evening Herbert's party, I had my own with the Chrises and Neil.  Got to try all six of the beers for the Bearded Bro Brewery tap takeover (altho one was just a sneaky mouthful I took of Aquila's).  Braddles and I shared some lamb balls and honey soy chicken wings.

Then spent the afternoon deleting stuff.  What could go wrong? :)  Kievs for dinner and Orville 3.4

Saturday.  Woke up at around 1 til well after 4.  Sigh.  Zombie tired.  Hurray. David and Kellie picked me up at 8:45 for the Canberra Airport Open Day.  It was pouring with rain and it was windy and the puddles were several centimetres deep and we got drenched.  I really should have taken my hiking boots which are a lot more waterproof.  Whoops.  Kellie went back to the car while we waited to get on the Hercules.  After a quick walk around the emergency vehicles we decided to call it for the first round and come back a bit later, so headed back to the car.  Which was gone.  Kellie had taken it.  Whoops.  David was a bit upset (busting and hangry sure didn't help) but everyone felt better after a pitstop and some food.  We went back to the airport fence to ponder our next move.  David called Adam/Brenda and it was established that lunch would be at the Burns Club.  After I'd just eaten a double cheeseburger.  Whoops.  There were like twelve of us including a few kids.  And Fiona paid before we had a chance to, so all I could do was give her all the cash I had on me ($20).  Whoops.  Saw Adam Peters for the first time in probably 30-35 years.  And met Craig who was one of the drivers who taught my brother how to drive Sydney trains.  Had a much better afternoon at the airport - saw some of the air shows and the sun came out and the people left at the end so got some nice photos.

Felt a bit blah when we finally got home, so just watched crap on the internet.  Watched Mash and Sex Education 4.7 with the sweetie, then had some cheese and crackers (didn't need dinner - had it at lunch) and went to bed.

Sunday.  Went to bed at 21:15.  Woke up at what I felt like was about 6:30 but it was only 6:00 on the phone, still, it felt like a good nights' sleep.  Played on my phone for a bit then went and had a shower.  Get back and the bedroom clock says 7:54.  WTF?  Yeah, daylight savings ended, so I actually slept in til 7:00.  Felt a lot better after nearly ten hours sleep.  Wasted wayyyyyy too much time on Friday's XKCD.  You have to make a rube goldberg machine with either one, two or three coloured balls.  My first one was super boring, just one coloured ball with a funnel almost straight down.  The second one was three colours but it was still pretty generic.  After looking around at all the creations on the board I made a third one that was a bit more interesting.  But they're not static - if you refresh the page other boards will stay in place but yours resets.  So I never got screenshots of the first two.  This was my third though:

Swirl

Then did a bit of Turkey photo stuff, house stuff, weeding, Tasmania finances, and food shopping.  Although we didn't buy much food - still getting through everything in the freezer.  Not entirely sure how I'm going to survive a five day week this week.. hmmm..

Sunday.  24th.  A couple of other notes.  All the toilet paper we had while were away was thin crappy stuff.  Even at the expensive Cradle Mountain place.  It was so nice to get home to the good Quilton stuff!  Another treat was a full keyboard and two large monitors :)  But.. 6:30am is *dark* now!!

Monday.  Awake from around 1:15 til after 4 *sigh.  Turns out there was an email from IFTTT telling me they were going to deactivate my applet because I hadn't logged in for a while.  But I never pay attention to their emails cause they're mostly all marketing crap.  I've unsubscribed from the marketing crap so hopefully now I'll see anything useful.  Spent the morning signed out from chats at work so could catch up in peace and quiet.  Logged onto them after lunch and sure enough the crap started rolling in haha.  Did two loads of washing before work, which I brought in at lunch.  Also did a bunch of work in the front garden at lunch and put a heap of stuff in the green bin.  Spent some time tidying the garage after work (which Stu took til Saturday to notice ;) ).  We were going to have leftovers for dinner but the sweetie had had a day, so we got pizza delivered.  Then I started processing holiday photos.

Tuesday.  Took ages to get to sleep.  Bits and pieces at work.  Was going to do some decom work but people kept wanting stuff.  More weeding at lunch.  Leftover golden curry from the freezer for dinner.

Wednesday.  Took *forever* to get to sleep.  So bit of a zombie day.  Too tired to concentrate on anything much.  Sausages from the freezer and frozen veggies for dinner.

Thursday.  Had a generous dram of Sheep Dog before bed last night which did the trick, and not only got to sleep ok but also slept ok.  Too many meetings at work to concentrate on getting anything useful done.  TV dinners from the freezer for dinner, then Death in Paradise 8.6.

Good Friday.  Although not so great for Jesus a couple of thousand years ago.  Slept relatively well again which was nice.  Did three quarters of an hour of weeding before it got too hot.  Did some house bits and pieces but mostly just photo processing.  Did a barramundi bake with potatoes for dinner (I got a bag of potatoes for 76c from Woollies the other day and used a bit over half of them).  Also some frozen veggies.

Barramundi bake

Then The Orville 3.3 which was a bit weird, and geotagging photos.

Saturday.  Slept relatively well again, hurray!  A day of All The Things.  Combination of weeding, house stuff, bit of jigsaw and geotagging.  Also did a bit of food shopping in the afternoon and got more bark for Stumpy.

I couldn't believe this stick of geranium.  It's been broken off and just lying on the ground for about TWO MONTHS!! But it's still growing new leaves!!

Geraniums still alive

Stu cooked miso mushrooms for dinner which were delicious.

Miso mushrooms

Then watched Labyrinth.

Easter Sunday.  Much the same as yesterday - slept relatively well, then weeding/house/photos stuff.  Didn't feel like putting the clarinet back together, so just played some hymns on the recorder - of course starting with "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" :)

And just like that we're a quarter of the way through the year..!!

Saturday.  23rd.  Got home from our Tasmania trip just before 18:00.  Both epic tired.

Big shout out to Tony who fed the fish and Stumpy and watered the plants while we were gone.  And then went above and beyond when one of the fish tank heaters kept tripping the power (including the fridge!) and had to sort out that disaster.  I think he took better care of our plants than I do!  Everything looked super happy, including the mini capsicums out the front that now have mini capsicums on them!

Mini capsicums

Dinner was wine (from David), cheese, pepperoni, pickles (which had been out of the fridge since we left Cradle Mountain at 11am Friday) and crackers.

Post Tassie dinner

While we were away we watched the end of season 3 of Mash, the start of season 3 of The Orville, and Sex Education 4.5.  And a lot of Big Bang Theory on 10 Peach (some of the later seasons).  Back home, we're into season 4 of Mash and 3.2 of The Orville.

Sunday.  Slept like crap - awake from 4:27 for ages.  After not much sleep the night before either this resulted in Not Fully Transfunctionating day today.  Sigh.  Spent the morning downloading photos to my main computer.  Then out to do food shopping (just some essentials, have an entire freezer of food that needs eating).  The afternoon was trying to wrangle my todo list into some sort of order, as well as unpacking, fish stuff etc.  Also got pissed that IFTTT lost connectivity to FourSquare on 1 February, so had to reconnect that, and download two months of checkin history as well.

Dinner tonight will be eat the freezer (sausages and frozen veggies) and hope we don't get food poisoning from any of it being a little defrosted a few times...

Sunday.  11th.  Roast pork for dinner with epic crackling.  I actually had to turn the oven down from max though because it was threatening to set fire to the baking paper.  Next time I'll try it just in a baking dish.  The meat was a little dry though.  There was also blue cheese cauliflower and brussels sprouts, and brussels sprouts with spring onion, bacon and hazelnuts.

Roast pork

Then Sex Education 4.4

Monday.  Slept mostly ok but awake quite early.  Ok day doing stuff I didn't really need to do instead of doing any more training hmm.  For dinner cooked mushrooms and pork in cream and cheese and had it with cabbage and spring onion.  Yummm.

Pork and creamy mushrooms

Tuesday.  Distracting day so didn't get much more training done.  Finished rotating all of David's America photos.  Cooked stir fry pork with veggies for dinner.

Pork stir fry

Then have been trying to catch up on rss feeds.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly ok but woke up early from a disturbing dream of Mum and I watching Dad going for a photo opportunity on a rockshelf and getting swept off said rocks.  Not much of a day.  Leftover cheesy mince and salad for dinner.

Cheesy mince

Thursday.  Slept fairly well.  Had a team lunch at Ikko which was quite good.

Gyu-don at Ikko
Ikko gyu-don

Copied some proxy configs from old to new servers in the afternoon.  First work drinks of the year and it was fairly busy which was really good.  Had a couple of sausages and didn't need dinner.

Candle in a jar

Finished renaming all David's America photos (with date/time).  So that's all his masters processed.  Now I need to decide how many of them to keep.  I feel like I should at least delete any dud photos.  Then I started re-backing them up to my holiday drive.  I also need to decide whether I want to keep an offsite backup of them or not..  Maybe just until I can do a resize working copy.

Friday.  Took a while to get to sleep.  Ok day I guess.  Kit came over after work.  We got Dumpling Inn delivered (hurray they're open again!!  haven't had Dumpling Inn since pre covid) and chatted and went to bed on time.

Dumpling Inn delivery feast

Saturday.  Woke up around 3:45 and didn't really get any more sleep.

How cute is Oreo?!? (one of Biscuit's crumbs)

Oreo

Oreo

After Kit left I spent the day doing All The Things.  Got lots done, and we even went out for a chemist/food/car wash run.  Leftover pork (refried in lamb jelly from the freezer) and cabbage for dinner.  Then we watched The Orville 2.14 (season 2 finale).  After the hail.

Hail

Sunday.  Stu came to bed late which woke me up but then it took me like an hour to get back to sleep because restless legs.  Doh.  Climbed Mt Rogers first thing, cooked some bacon and eggs for breakfast, then got stuck back into All The Things.  Grumbly thunder for a bit but not enough to turn everything off.  I used iMazing to copy some files to my phone.  It works quite well and just makes new albums with what you import (or you can import into an existing "Mac" folder) and it doesn't clutter up the regular timeline (so when you go to back it up it doesn't show them) and any geotagging will show up on the map.  Super handy.  Just a pity they don't import in alphabetical order.

Kievs in the oven for dinner...

Sunday.  4th.  Cooked an epic keto feast - tuna casserole, cauliflower with blue cheese and cream, broccolini with butter and lemon juice, and capsicum.

Tuna keto feast

Then the finale of The Crown.  Although they still have another twenty years of history to cover, so who knows, there might be another season.  And I picked York Minster!  Win!

Monday.  Slept mostly ok.  Ok day at work, some training and some bits and pieces.  Realised in the evening that at some point OneNote decided it copy itself to OneDrive and make that my active OneNote.  Which means for I dunno at least six months I haven't been backing it up because I've been editing the cloud copy.  After the epic disaster Dave2 just had with The Cloud, I was horrified.  I was also pissed, because it meant I had to go through each and every page and find out if there were any changes made to the cloud copy that needed to brought back on prem.  Hate hate hate hate hate.

Tuesday.  Slept ok.  Ok day - more training and bits and pieces.  Fighting with certificates.  So painful.  Weeding at lunch and after work.

Wednesday.  Took ages and ages to get to sleep but then woke up early.  Sigh.  Built some new proxies at work.  After work went in to meet Aaron.. except he overslept at home and didn't make it.  Sigh.  But the sweetie came and joined me and we had Kinn Thai for dinner which was lovely.

Clouds

At least it was a nice night to be stood up..
Stood up wine

Nam tok wagyu beef - grilled wagyu beef with ground roasted rice, dry chilli, herbs and lime dressing.. this was a little too hot for me but so delicious!
Kinn Thai wagyu salad

Ka na moo grob - stir fried crispy pork with garlic, chilli and Chinese broccoli
Kinn Thai crispy pork

Also remembered Dad who went and carked it ten years ago tonight.

Thursday.  Slept ok.  Did some work on some mail rules for our new notifications db.  Made pizzas for dinner then Death in Paradise 8.4.

Ribbon grass flowers

Friday.  Slept ok I think.  Bit of training and some work on proxy acls.

Baby capsicums

Cooked up some beef from the freezer with cabbage for dinner.

Beef and cabbage

Mash and Orville 2.13.  They do have some creative story lines in The Orville.

Saturday.  Slept ok I think.  Got plenty done although could have gotten more done.  Weekends are too damned short.  Did some house stuff, food shopping, some Turkey photo culling, even did a bit of jigsaw.  Cooked epic cheesy mince for dinner - so fricken delicious (bacon, onion, mince, cream, tasty cheese, cream cheese).

Cheesy mince

Then watched The Queen, written by Peter Morgan, so it had very much the same vibe as The Crown.

Sunday.

Grass silhouette

Slept ok.  Another day of just trying to get All The Things done in such short weekends.  Achieved lots but still So Much to do.  Sigh.  Caught up on blogging and have an epic feast in the oven...

Last weekend we headed down after work Friday to Tumut!  We took Tony, as J was meant to come too but she got covid.. !!

We stayed in the caravan park which I've been wanting to stay at since the first time we went in 2020.

Riverglade Caravan Park Tumut

Riverglade Caravan Park Tumut

Yep, that's the Tumut River right there!
Riverglade Caravan Park Tumut

Gear dumped we headed for TRBC.  They've got rather a nice path the whole way now, no scrambling up and down embankments anymore!

TRBC sign

Except as I was telling the story of Tom Scott's last video I nearly stood on a snake (I was literally blind because I was focussed on Tom Scott flying with geese) and Stu grabbed me to stop me but it HURT!!  And I never even saw the snake (it slithered off) because I was trying to figure out why I was suddenly being hurt.. :(  Put me out of sorts all night.  But thanks to the sweetie for saving my life anyway hehe.

Grabbed ourselves some beers (I had Volkslager Märzen and a Rose Gose) and ordered dinner.

TRBC beers on tap

We got a maple bacon and blue cheese, and something else but I forget what it was and I can't find it on their menu..

TRBC pizzas

Also a house salad and the amazeballs

After dinner Tony and I went for a short walk to see the swamp

Then the sweetie and I headed back to the van to chill for a bit.

Around 15:00 we went back and met up with the others to head down to the Tumut River Tap Days.

Tumut River Tap Days 2024

Unlike Sydney or Canberra festivals this one was pretty relaxed.  Helps not having thousands and thousands of people.  There wasn't a lot of shade left in front of the stage by the time we got there, which was ok because it was a bit loud anyway.  So we went slightly further away and got ourselves setup.

There were several bands although they mostly played music I didn't know.

And half a dozen or so brewerys (Big Niles, Dalgety, Jindabyne, Squinters, Tuckerbox, Willie the Boatman and of course TRBC).

A couple of places did food (there was Indian, gozleme and TRBC were doing pizzas).

The only problem.. it was HOT!  Over 30 degrees which wasn't ideal.  But with a few cold beers we all had a lovely relaxed afternoon and evening!

And I blew some bubbles

Then just cleaned up and came home.

Sunday.  28th.  Backdated because life.  Cooked up some mince for a taco casserole (see previous entry), and had it with lots of veggies.  The Crown 6.9.

Teeny jumping spider

Monday.  Woke up at like 1:47 and didn't get back to sleep til well after 4.  Sigh.  Ok day at work, spent most of the morning catching up on emails/chats.  Afternoon was bits and pieces and attacking the todo list.  Bit of house stuff after work, and cooked a dinner of fried beef and salad.

Beef and salad

Too hot to go for a walk (was still like 28C at 19:30).  Sigh.  I'm going to get fat again.

Also had a look at my blog commenting.  After pushing through the errors about things not being secure and send anyway, I was getting this error:

Your comment submission failed for the following reasons: Invalid request

Tuesday.  Slept ok.  Awake early enough to go for a walk before work.

Bird bird plane bird bird moon

Bird plane

Plane bird

I was feeling a bit blah after work and none of the food in the house was inspiring me.  So the sweetie got KFC on the way home.  hrmmm.  Mash then Turkey photo culling, and some photo filing.

Wednesday.  Went to bed at 21:45 and didn't get to sleep til after midnight.  And then woke up at 6.  Sigh.  It's like every second night I sleep like crap.  Just bits and pieces during the day then called it early and joined Tony and Frank at the pub.  Beef and salad again for dinner.

Thursday.  Nothing much.  Some doco at work and bit of doco planning.  Death in Paradise 8.3

Green is healthy right?

Friday.  Looked into a bizarre firewall logging problem.  Stoopid firewalls are buggy as hell and seem to get worse with every version.  Finished up early and headed off to Tumut.

Yes these LR-44 batteries are over twenty five years old and still work!!
Twenty five year old batteries

Sunday.  Got home.  Depressed.  Because Sunday.  Tried to get the house a bit tidier.  Mostly failed.  I really need to chop this back...

Climbing roses

Sunday.  21st.  Cooked a yummy dinner of lemon butter chicken (chicken thighs, garlic, butter, lemon juice etc) and buttered veggies (mushrooms, zucchini, spring onions, butter, cream etc).  Crown 6.8.

Lemon chicken

Monday.  Slept ok I think.

Mt Rogers clouds

Not a bad day, got some stuffs done.

Virginia creeper berries

Ribbon grass flower

Tuesday.  BOM said "no rain".  While it was literally raining.

Baby capsicums

Squark

Felt flat all day.  Spent too much time stressing about Tassie.  The buttplugs at Cradle Mountain won't let you drive to Dove Lake anymore (and charge you $15 each to take a shuttle bus).  Problem is the shuttles only run from 8am to 6pm but given we want to take our time with the walk there's a very real possibility we could miss the last shuttle.  Could you imagine then having to walk the extra ten kilometres out and back to the car???

Tony said he had a glut of basil, so I asked for some.  This is what he gave me..

All the basil

!!

So spent like an hour using about two thirds of it to make two tubs of pesto

Pesto

Is the juice worth the squeeze?  I dunno...

And my kitchen garden is getting a little out of hand..

Kitchen garden

Cooked a beef roast and a bunch of veggies for dinner.

Roast beef and veggies

Wednesday.  Slept mostly ok.  Decided I should soften up the old Scarpas.  Oof they're very tough.  Got a bit of house stuff done and some Lego sorting.

Mammatus clouds

Mammatus clouds

For dinner I cooked a Mexican inspired dinner - beef mince with onion, bacon, garlic powder, taco seasoning, shredded pizza cheese and some cream cheese (omfg it was so good!!) and a salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, tasty cheese and coriander, with a dressing of Greek yoghurt, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, pepper and finely topped coriander) which was also really good.

Cheesy mince

Coriander dressing

Then I watched Hannah Gadsby's "Something Special".

Thursday.  Slept mostly ok but woke up at like 4:30 or something.  Mostly Lego sorting day.  Hurray.  Nearly done though.  I keep saying that, but there always seems to be more..  Made pizzas for dinner then Death in Paradise 8.2.

Mt Rogers sky

Epic slug

This whole low carb nonsense has been pretty effective.. have lost like three kilos in three weeks..
Ketosis

Friday.  Slept mostly ok but woke up at like 4:45.  OMFG I FINISHED INVENTORYING VIC'S LEGO!!!  Gonna have a break before next stage though.  There's still a loonnnnggggg way to go.  Fried up some beef in jelly and had with salad for dinner.

Beef and salad

Mash/Orville 2.12 (lolz with Marina Sirtis and directed by Jonathon Frakes).

Saturday.  Slept mostly ok but woke up pretty early.  With the Lego done it was back to almost a regular weekend day and trying to get All The Things done.

King parrots

Booked some Tassie stuff which was good.  Man, how much of a ripoff is Strahan??  $200/night for essentially a caravan park.  Yeesh.  Went over to Chrissie's for dinner which was nice, haven't really seen her much since pre covid.

Firestarter

High schoolies with wine

Sunday.  Slept mostly ok but woke up pretty early.  Back to usual Sunday including feeling blah about having to go back to work tomorrow..

One Tree Hill with squark

Pink epic dandelion

Flutterby

Mystery weed

And now to cook All The Food...

Sunday.  14th.  Cooked up an epic feast for dinner/leftovers.  There was a tuna bake, a broccoli/cauliflower bake, capsicum and broccolini with butter/lemon juice (which I stoopidly overcooked).

Epic feast

Epic feast

Then Mash and The Crown 6.7.

Monday.  Slept relatively well!  All. The. Rain.  !!  Ok day.  Bit of planning for a new database we're hoping to get setup for notifications.  Did an hour of weeding after work and Stu helped cook dinner which was nice.  Then went for a walk up Mt Rogers.

I think I might get moist... (spoiler: I did!)
Might get moist

Then had a look at the Tassie map.  Then it was bed time.  WTF.  Every day I want to do music, weed the garden, keep the house clean/tidy, cook dinners, exercise, process photos, plan holidays.  Except I can only do a couple of those every day because work takes up too much damned time.  And let's not even mention actually having fun and doing my hobbies.  I. Do. Not. Have. Time. To. Go. To. Work.  Sigh.

Tuesday.

Slept mostly ok although woke up at 4:45.  Did housework for a HOUR before work.  And some effing cat sprayed our laundry door.  Buttplug.

Snail wars

Work.  I dunno.  Forty-five minutes of weeding after work.  I rescued some geraniums that had been cut off the plant by accident a couple of weeks ago.  Yeah these stems had been sitting on the ground for a couple of weeks, yet they were still flowering!!  So I stuck em in water.

Geranium flowers

Stu cooked dinner of cabbage and bacon (and I threw in the last of some leftover turkey).

Tried to finish the jigsaw we started on the weekend, but it's such terrible quality it was pretty much impossible.  It's made of soft plastic and you have to force the pieces together even when they're correct.  Now imagine pieces that are *almost* identical in shape, so you literally have no idea whether they're correct or not.  I got down to four pieces left a couple of times but they just would not go in.  Stoopid.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly ok.  Even got back to sleep after waking up at 4:45.  The other week Tony gave me a container of basil which is growing like weeds in his yard.  But of course I'm a complete slacker and didn't do anything with it.  Well it was getting desperate so before I work I made some pesto.  But first had to contend with a microscopic reanimated spider that's been in hibernation for a couple of weeks..

The pesto turned out quite well.  Even if I did end up having to throw out half the basil.  Sigh.

Ok day I guess.  Managed to find some jeans at kmart.  The only two in my size in the whole store.  As with Target, everything is "skinny".  Well some of us *aren't* skinny.  Hate.  So either *everyone else* wants skinny and that's why they stock so many.  Or *noone* wants skinny which is why that's all there is and hardly anything else.  Also why TF can't women's clothing standardise on sizes??  Last time I bought jeans they were size 8.  This time - 10.  I've had everything from 8 to 12 over the years cause they keep changing.  I really should try on some boys jeans some time.. Or go to a workwear place..

Westfield didn't get the memo about the 12 days of Christmas..

Late home, leftover pork (fried in lamb jelly (cause needed to clear freezer space)) and salad for dinner.  Backed up my computer and then it was time to wash my hair and go to bed.  Sigh.

Thursday.  Tidying up and bits and pieces at work.  Showed the newbies some stuffs on one of our firewalls.  Drinks at Lighty then Death in Paradise 8.1.

He's not missing a leg, but he did just leave that poop there

Friday.  Awake for like two hours in the middle of the night.  Sigh.  Climbed Mt Rogers.

Mt Rogers has *pink* epic dandelions!

Then mostly just housework and getting organised, including bringing up the Lego from downstairs where it had been hiding for a few months due to the Silly Season.  Used the pesto I made yesterday with some chicken I dug out of the freezer, some broccoli and some "fake" pasta (kognac pasta) for a yummy dinner.  Stu went back for thirds, even though he doesn't really like broccoli, so must have been good haha.

Then The Orville 2.11.  I had the kind of day that I would like every day for the rest of my life.  kthxbai.

Saturday.  Slept ok until hurty kept me awake from like 3:45 to 5:45.  Sigh.  After not great sleep the night before either it was definitely zombie day.  Sigh.

Dude, aren't you a bit far north of the border?

Did a bit of Turkey photo culling but not nearly enough.  Tried to sort out some Lego but my brain was too fuzzy and I'm sure I've stuffed something up.

The baby capsicums are getting bigger.  That snail is just a shell.  Maybe a bluey got it..

Leftovers of the "pulled lamb" (which was still epic spectacular) and cauliflower with cheese sauce for dinner.

Mash and Sex Education 4.3.  Really had to feel for Jean (portrayed as my age even though Gillian Anderson is a fair few years older) and her exhaustion.. omfg there's no way I could have kids.. the sleep deprivation would kill me!!

I rescued those things on the right today too - their stem had broken off, possibly due to lack of water, so grabbed them and brought them inside

Sunday.  Slept fairly well hurray!!  Except I don't really know what I did all day.  I know I renamed all of Mum and Dad's Tasmania photos to get them into chronological order.  I also wrote out their itinerary for their 1971 trip.  They only had two weeks and managed to cram heaps in (including getting perfect days for Mt Amos and Cradle Mountain - totes jelly) and it was cool seeing the order of the photos plotted against the map.  Other than that I'm not even sure.  I didn't managed to do any photo culling.  Barely any dots.  Hardly any Lego inventorying.  There was a walk up Mt Rogers thoguh.  And food shopping.  And getting epic enraged by the pantry which descends into chaos the moment your back is turned.  Sigh.

Look at this trash.  This is what happens when you go low carb.  Everything's damnedwell GREEN haha

Now I just need a quote...
