Canberra Birdwatching - Giralang Pond

Stu already went out birdwatching today, but late afternoon he thought he'd go out to Giralang Pond, so I said only if I can come too.  So logged off work a little early and off we went.

Several people stopped and asked us what we were looking at when we found these yellow-rumped thornbills

Stu was scanning the trees for roosting birds and couldn't see anything.  So I was surprised he missed this straw-necked ibis and nankeen night heron.  All I saw was a dark tan blob.  Stu was excited to see one in the ACT, his first since counting this year.

We were out for nearly two hours all up, a good way to get a bit of exercise.
