Day 27 - Tuesday 19 March - Stanley to Cradle Mountain

Went to bed at 21:00. Went to sleep well after 23:00. Sigh. Did sleep a little better though but still woke up early.

Had a slow start and checked out and left just before 9:55.

Went down to the Marine Park in Stanley first and I had a little walk around while Stu setup the GPS/audio book.

Found the Woolworths and BWS in Burnie and stocked up on supplies for the next few days. We're counting on only one meal of eating out in that time.

Then we went back to the Penguin Beer Co for lunch and beer. They'd cut down their menu since were there last but Stu was still able to have the nachos he really liked (this time with calamari instead of beef). And the Big Penguin had an Epilepsy Australia tunic on it ..!!

Got some petrol in Ulverstone before heading up to Cradle Mountain.

All (most) of the letterboxes on the farms along the way were creative and cool. Unfortunately with the rain I really couldn't get photos of them. Maybe on the way out.. if we're lucky..

Found where we're staying which is totally amazing. You get what you pay for I guess heh. Private bush views, spa in the middle of the room (?!?), gas fireplace which works entirely too efficiently. We've only had it on a little while and I'm already almost uncomfortably warm.

Once we'd dumped all our crap I drove down the visitor's centre (it was raining, sue me) to see about getting bus tickets (they go for 72 hours not three days which is useful), buy them and ask questions.

Then back here (it's still fairly early) for gps/photos/blogging. Might have to turn the heater off soon though.. if the sweetie will let me..

So we had some beer and listened to more of Confessions of a Bookseller. And turned the heater off. The place has fully double glazed windows so that's nice. What's not so nice is the lack of practical space. There's almost no kitchen bench for working on, no coffee table or side table near the couch, only space for one suitcase anywhere useful, and no power near the only place you can set up a laptop. Silly really.
