Day 17 - Saturday 9 March - Hobart

So woke up a bit before 1:00 and didn't get back to sleep til probably nearly 4:00 (heard the 1/2/3 bongs from the GPO). Then broken sleep and woke up at normal time. Hurray.

We were going to try and get down to Salamanca Markets at 8:30 but the sweetie had a slow start too so we didn't get out the door until well after nine.

Once at the markets we decided to go our own separate ways so we wouldn't be holding the other up. So I walked up and down and up and down. It's actually quite a good market - lots of actual local products and not really much cheap crap. I had a chicken skewer and a very overpriced potato on a stick.

Met up with the sweetie at the Parliament House gardens, where we waited to the Freedom of Entry march which was pretty cool.

After the parade we went to the Customs House Hotel and had a beer and some lunch.

Then back to the room.

I put on a load of washing and then we were going to do some planning but the sweetie decided to have a nap and I was too much of a zombie to be able to concentrate and I couldn't relax because of the washing so didn't get much done at all. The washing finished and I put it in the dryer for an hour, so tried to sleep but I couldn't because I was too tired and restless and uncomfortable and I don't sleep during the day anyway. But the washing never really dried so it was a lot of going back and forth and then someone else used the washing machine so I took my stuff out of the drier in time for them to use it, but they just left their washing in the machine for *ages* afterwards, and later left their stuff in the dryer past its finish time as well. Buttplugs. I ended up bringing back one of the airers and put out all the washing on it and around the flat. I also needed to go do some shopping so went and did that. We did look at the map for a while and decided on a plan for tomorrow. But still couldn't really decide where to stay in the last week. Also the place in Strahan is hopeless and they still haven't gotten back to me about checkin time.

Basically I felt blah all afternoon and didn't get to do the planning I wanted to, or repack my suitcase (cause everything is still wet). And even if I hadn't been feeling like a zombie it was too damned hot outside anyway (too hot to go see Celebrity Edge come in). Sigh.

Shared a tv dinner for dinner (power to the powerpoints tripped and had to call reception, turns out the whole floor had tripped, probably because of the dude that turned on his spa bath) and watched some BBT and usual photos/gps/blogging stuffs.
