Pretty decent sleep, and back to waking up at normal time (~6:30). Leisurely start and out the door by 9:30.
Stopped for petrol and coffee for the sweetie in Cann River, where we also saw signs for the Monaro Highway and home.

The entire drive today was through bushfire-affected forest, it was so sad.
We headed out to Mallacoota, and literally the entire drive from Orbost to Mallacoota was through forests trying to recover from the fires two years ago. And caravans! Omfg all the caravans, most of the vehicles we passed on the entire drive were towing caravans.
So we got out to Mallacoota and had a drive around town. Basically the majority of the town is a massive caravan park, filled post school holidays with Grey Nomads. It was horrendous. We stopped on a point for the sweetie to finish his coffee. I managed to get one photo before this constant stream of people walked across the point in front of us, and/or just *sat there* for ages. I just wanted to get a panorama photo but had to wait like fifteen minutes for PEOPLE to get out of the fricken way. Grunt.

Headed out of town, having a look at Quarry Beach, or rather the amazing rock formations, and a sea eagle (which never came back so I only got a hasty snap of it).

The WWII Bunker Museum was closed (only open Tuesdays and some extra days in school holidays), so headed back into town to grab something to eat (grease, hurrah, at least no massive pile of chips though).

Then just headed for Eden. Again, the entire drive was through bushfire-affected forest.
Got to the motel (actually quite a nice motel with kitchenette) and dumped our stuff then headed out for a meandering drive around Eden to check out the place. There's some quite pretty places actually.

While Mallacoota is basically just a tourist trap, Eden has a massive port so is more a working city (with a working class it seems). For some reason I preferred that, even though the centre of town was pretty much a ghost town on a Saturday night. Hrmmm. Dropped into Coles to pick up some microwavable food for dinner then gps/photos/blog back at the motel.
