So I had a wonderful nights' sleep! From a bit after to 21:00 to 07:30 or so.
Had a leisurely breakfast in the room before heading out.
We headed south first up, down to Marlo, to see where the Snowy River flows into the ocean. So that was pretty cool.

Then east out to Cape Conran. Had a bit of a wander around there. East Cape was nice and sheltered, while at Salmon Rocks we could have been blown away. And even though we were pretty much in the middle of nowhere, there were *people* everywhere!!! #grunt.

Then we turned north to meet up with the Princes Highway and down to Bemm River. There's not a whole lot there, but we did have a picnic lunch there in a slightly sheltered park.

On the way back through Orbost we went up into the hills and then down onto the flood plain to look at the old wooden railway bridge across the flood plain.

Then most of the way back to Lakes Entrance to go find the Wairewa Railway Bridge. Sadly half of this bridge was lost to the bushfires two years ago (Apple maps and Google maps both show the whole bridge). But half of it is still there so that's something.

And finally back to the motel. We booked our next accommodation (just a motel - if we'd wanted anything nicer we would have had to have booked forever ago).
Then headed into town for dinner. We were going to go to the Sailors Grave brewery but it didn't look very inviting. I went in the open door only to find that what looked to have been the bar/lounge was a construction site. Presumably they're doing renovations.

So we wandered the main street. The only two restaurants open in town were a Thai place and a Chinese place, both BYO. So we went and grabbed some beer from the Foodworks, and ended up at the Chinese place - Leon Palace. I called it an authentic Australian restaurant, with all of your Australian Chinese dishes, and not a chopstick in sight.

Then back to the motel for gps/photos/blogging.
