Slept ok I think. Had breakfast in the room with leftover milk from Cape Otway (which survived the drive well enough in the esky surrounded with the other cold stuff). Out the door around 9:10.
We stopped at a couple of places - Barwon Heads Bluff and Point Lonsdale Lighthouse before arriving in Queenscliff for the ferry!

We arrived at the ferry terminal at about 10:40, just in time for the 11:00 ferry. I waited outside to get photos of it arriving, then we drove on. The sweetie decided to just sit in the car while I wandered the ferry. Just as we departed a couple of car alarms went off (even though they said to disable car alarms) and they announced on the intercom for the owner of a black Audi and some other car to go and disable them. Well the Audi owner certainly didn't because when I went down a little while later to bring a snack to the sweetie it went off right next to me (I never touched it!!). Fricken fancy car buttplug owners. Hate. But the rest of the trip was quite fun. I've only rarely caught car ferries so it was pretty cool.

At Sorrento we headed west to see if we could see the fort at Point Nepean, but the road is closed off three kilometres away. There was a shuttle bus but the sweetie didn't feel like waiting around, so we just wandered east again.

We listened to the first episode of Shandee's Story (oh I forgot to mention we listened to all of Jon Ronson's podcast "Things Fell Apart" during the trip last week as well).
We had a few short stops along the way (Grantville jetty for a pitstop, Bourne Creek Trestle Bridge, Eagles Nest lookout) finally arriving in Inverloch around 15:30. It's actually amazing how little of the coast you actually see on Victoria's coast roads. Even if the roads are right on the coast (which is kinda rare) you can't actually see the water because the bush obscures the view.

We dumped all our stuff at the motel, the sweetie had a rest, and I got online to book our next nights' accommodation.
Then we went for a walk to find dinner (fish and chips, the sweetie might have chosen). Ate that in the park then had a look at the beach. Picked up some Caramilk ice creams for the walk back to the motel for blogging/photos.
