Day 5 - Saturday 22 November - Narooma

Took ages to get to sleep. It was noisy being a Friday night, but that didn't really bother me too much. It was moderately hot (21C) so ran the aircon for a bit but left it off overnight. The bed was quite soft, and I used my own pillow. But I wasn't relaxed. I actually felt kinda trapped. We're here for six nights which is the longest I've stayed in one place in a very long time. But it's meant to be rainy for the whole next week which is super depressing. Part of me wishes we'd abandoned the whole idea and just gone home and saved all that money and leave.

Sigh.

Moderately paced start for the day. We didn't have enough cereal for the both of us and I would have had some cereal then done a Woollies run but it was wet. So Stu suggested having brunch in town. So got ready for that. I was organsing all our crap in the kitchen when I realise I couldn't find Stu's coffee brush. I dropped it at least twice yesterday morning when packing up from Narooma, probably I dropped it AGAIN and didn't notice. I went through everything but couldn't find it. I may have had a meltdown.

Sigh.

Anyways.

We went to Park Central Cafe for brunch and I had eggs benedict with bacon and Stu had poached eggs with mushrooms and a hashbrown. Quite nice.

Then we had a slow meander down in front of Kiama Harbour.

Some brave Americans were in the rock pool.

Then went up to the blowhole. Which was blowing reasonably well, which was pretty cool. Of course the best blows were when I didn't have any cameras ready. Would have been 40 years since I was there last.

Continued on around the peninsula then back to the motel.

It was after midday by this point but it was grey and rainy. So we just chilled for a while. Well Stu did. I stewed. I did start a jigsaw. The desk here really isn't big enough for both a jigsaw and the laptop, but I ripped up last night's pizza box and used that as a piece sorting tray, so made it work. Eventually I went and got us Subway for lunch.

Finally we headed out into the rain again.

First up to find a photo spot of Dad's from 1960. Found it, but, trees.

Then to Bombo to walk around the headland and down to the quarry. I was last there in the late 80s (school excursion). And had Noisework's "Touch" in my head the whole way around.

We may have gotten slightly moist.

Back to the motel via Woollies for supplies. Still no veal cordon bleus. Sigh.

Wrote up my day and downloaded GPS and photos. Dinner was tabouleh for the sweetie and pesto chicken pasta for me, while watching Stranger Things 3.7.

19:10 is bed time, right?

Ended up staying up a little longer, mostly just watching crap on YouTube.
