Slept ok again. Had breakfast then packed up. Two trips to get everything to the car.
Out the door around 9:34. Stopped in at The Scottish Restaurant so the sweetie could get more coffee and we also got a couple of hashbrowns.

Then headed east. We stopped again at Batman Bridge to try again to get the right angles, but alas, too many trees in the way for the exact spot.

Stopped in Bridport around lunch time. Drove into the caravan park to see one of the beaches, then stopped out near the big park. I walked down to the little lighthouse and we had a pitstop (in the quite nice toilets by the park). Got some petrol and a pie/sausage roll for lunch. Then pressed on.

We thought about stopping in another coastal town but the roads in the northeast corner aren't great and we were starting to be running late anyway, so just drove onto St Helens. The drive was quite pretty again, alternating between farmland and forest. And British-sounding towns, including the mountain bike hub of the northeast in Derby.
Got to St Helens a bit after 15:00 and dumped our stuff in the hotel/motel. Then went outside and met up with Tim who had just picked up his three desexed kittens from the vet. Tim went off to take the kittens home then we wandered the park while organising the logistics of the evening.

In the end we drove out to Tim and Fuzzy's cute little house in Goshen so see the place and all the kitties (Tim rescues them).
Then we all came back into town and had a very nice dinner at Azuki. It's fairly new and while very nice it doesn't have the vibe of a nice restaurant and so the prices feel quite expensive. I worry they won't last too long unless something changes.
After dinner we just wandered around the foreshore and got some ice creams from the servo and looked at real estate prices (hint: they're ridiculously expensive). Then bid goodnight and went back to the motel.

The motel here is nice enough. We had a westerly facing room which was quite warm in the afternoon sun, but closed the blinds and turned on the aircon (which is small but quiet) and it cooled down ok. There's a balcony but the door lock is broken and so it's "locked" with just a simple hook latch. hmm. The bathroom is newly renovated so quite nice. Carpets are new although damaged in one spot in this room. Bed is comfortable. I possibly could have used one of their pillows but ended up using my own.
