I'm pretty sure I just booked the original mammogram online with BreastScreen. It's just next to ACT Pathology in Belconnen, so I dropped off my pap smear test and got my bloods done after.
And by "next to" I mean down several twisting corridors. They have some signs near the beginning but they dry up after a couple of turns. Eventually found the place though.
There wasn't anyone else there when I went. Pretty sure I had to fill in some forms before going in.
Then into a side room to disrobe my top stuff (they don't provide disposable coverings anymore by default, although apparently you can ask for them, I didn't bother).
Then into the machine room.
You stick your boob on a plate and top plate comes down and squishes it all down. Not overly pleasant and you need to make sure it's alllll the way in. Then they tilt the plates around a bit so they can take images from the side.
Afterwards I asked if I could see. I don't remember if it was the left or right boob they had up. It just looked like a fibrous blob.
And that was that. They said if there weren't any issues I'd get an email in a few days, otherwise they'd give me a call. Great. So off I went to not think about it for our anniversary weekend.
